Van Cleef & Arpels dazzles again with two unique designs, the Lady Arpels Nuit Feerique and Lady Arpels Jour Feerique. Both watches feature a hand-wound movement inside a 41-mm case crusted with white gold and diamonds. Designed to represent the duality of night and day, the dials contain layers of precious stones and delicate miniature painting, showcasing the incredible lapidary expertise of these designs.
Lady Arpels Nuit Féérique
The Lady Arpels Nuit Féerique has a hollow, diamond-set surface and an openwork dome adorned with sapphires with the backdrop of a graceful fairy illuminated under moonlight. The intricate background of the dial is a harmonious combination of different crafts that showcases the lapidaries’ expertise.
Mniature painting on the fairy’s dress
Deep blue aventurine is cut to create the night sky and white gold is sculpted and painted to form the fairy’s costume . Round and tapered-cut diamonds line to form the course of a shooting star and alternately cut solid onyx to illustrates an interplay of clouds. Some of the clouds are also adorned with mother-of-pearl and onyx marquetry, playfully set with sapphires of blue, pink and violet. The gentle gradation of the different shades of buff-topped stones portray the scene of a gentle summer night.
Hand engraving of the fairy on the back of the case
The story carries on, as the back of the watch depicts an engraved scene of a garden with swaying long grass under a starry sky.
Lady Arpels Jour Féerique
The other watch – Lady Arpels Jour Féerique – depicts the image of a sun. A fairy twirls under the bright rays with her hand stretching out in an ethereal pose, giving a sense of life, light and warmth hand stretches in an ethereal pose.
A succession of planes is created with great craftsmanship. In the foreground, the sun is made up of two pieces in relief and hollow with both yellow sapphires and spessartite garnets, giving the orb an intense glow.
Applying the iridescent enamel on a cloud
The alternate opaque and transparent clouds made of turquoise, mother-of-pearl, enamel and diamonds depicts a early-morning sky that is brilliant yet delicate. Rose-cut diamonds form the face and wings of the fairy, highlighting her ethereal grace. Her dress is hand-painted in a soft gradation from blue to yellow. On the engraved gold back of the case, she reappears sitting on a branch, in a scene haloed by the same rays of sun.
Designed in partnership with Naval DC, Soel Yachts has more than 12 years of experience in traversing the ocean with the solar electric vessels powered entirely by solar. Since 2010, Okeanos has constructed 12 open oceans solar electric and hybrid sailing catamarans, which are now used in eight Pacific island nations.
With a mission to support climate change and its effect, the first SoelCat 12, called “Okeanos Pearl” was rolled out from the production facility, joining a network of fossil fuel-free vessels in the Pacific and set an example for sustainable sea transportation, in which the environment they operate.
The latest model of the solar electric catamaran SoelCat 12 can save up to 142 tons of CO2 per year than the traditional propelled vessel with a fuel consumption of 200-litre-per-day. And when it’s not in use for electric sailing, expect to save on the power bill (reduced by the vessel’s 8.6kWp solar array).
The SoelCat 12 yacht is fully customisable. The deck space features a spacious layout and it can host a variety of seating arrangement. Yacht owner can choose from classic yacht fittings to complete what would form a luxurious and comfortable interior or turn a simple and plain deck into a practical and economical deck wear for water taxi services, eco-tourism and water-bound resorts.
Large spaces on the solar electric catamaran SoelCat 12 can be transformed into a fully equipped bar with matching lounge furniture to host parties and gatherings for private owners and guests.
A Return On Investment — Even Moored At The Dock
Even docked at the marina, the vessels do not require any fuel other than sunlight, thus saving a great deal of fuel energy. Another advantage of the solar electric catamaran highlights the solar device that eliminates noise, smell and fuel costs, allowing a smoother operation without causing disruption to the ocean marine life.
Whether in remote areas of the world or providing all the required energy needed for operation throughout day and night or in low sunlight conditions, the battery systems are designed to handle these specific situations. Shore power charging is also available.
Visit Soel Yachts for more information and find out about the solar electric catamaran.
