Jaeger-LeCoultre ผลิตนาฬิการุ่นใหม่พ่วงกับภาพยนตร์ The King’s Man ซึ่งย้อนกลับไปถึงจุดกำเนิดขององค์กร Kingsman

ยอมรับก็ได้ว่าเราไม่ได้ยินใครลือเรื่องนาฬิการุ่นนี้มาก่อนเลย อยู่ดีๆ ออกจากห้องประชุมแล้วเปิดมือถือก็ได้เห็นรูป Jaeger-LeCoultre รุ่นใหม่ที่ผลิตเป็นจำนวนจำกัด 100 เรือนเพื่อผูกกับภาพยนตร์ Kingsman ตอนใหม่
และเนื่องจากเนื้อเรื่องของภาพยนตร์พรีเควลภาค The King’s Man นี้ย้อนยุคไป 100 ปีถึงจุดกำเนิดขององค์กร Kingsman ทาง Jaeger-LeCoultre จึงต้องบรรจงออกแบบนาฬิกาให้ดูตรงยุคเดียวกันด้วย สุดท้ายเลือกหยิบเอารูปลักษณ์ของนาฬิกาพกรุ่น Couteau (ซึ่งเป็นคำภาษาฝรั่งเศสที่แปลว่า “มีด”) จากปี ค.ศ. 1907 มาดัดแปลง จุดเด่นอยู่ที่คันธนูรูปทรงสามเหลี่ยมเหนือเม็ดมะยมที่ตำแหน่ง 12 นาฬิกา นาฬิกา Master Ultra Thin Kingsman Knife Watch ที่ได้จึงมีความสง่างาม สมกับภาพลักษณ์ของสายลับแห่ง Kingsman ที่แต่งตัวเนี้ยบตั้งแต่หัวจรดเท้าอยู่เสมอ
สาเหตุที่นาฬิการุ่นนี้เรียกเป็นอัลตร้าธินได้ก็เพราะตัวเรือนพิงค์โกลด์ขนาดเส้นผ่าศูนย์กลาง 40 มม. นั้นบางเพียง 4.25 มม. เท่านั้น เครื่องไขลานรุ่น 849 ที่ใช้ขับเคลื่อนเข็มทั้งสองนั้นก็ได้รับการออกแบบมาเป็นพิเศษจนมีความหนาเพียง1.85 มม. แต่ยังคงไว้ซึ่งความคงทนตามแบบฉบับของ Jaeger-LeCoultre แบรนด์นาฬิกาชื่อก้องจากเลอซองทิเยร์ ประเทศสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ ทั้งนี้ เราไม่อาจมองเห็นเครื่องนาฬิกาดังกล่าวได้เพราะฝาหลังเป็นแบบปิดและแกะสลักโลโก้ Kingsman พร้อมข้อความ “One of 100” ซึ่งบ่งบอกถึงจำนวนการผลิตนาฬิกาลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่นรุ่นนี้
ใครสนใจก็จับจองผ่าน Mr Porter ได้ตั้งแต่วันนี้จนถึง 6 กันยายน หลังจากนั้นจึงจะจำหน่ายต่อผ่านบูติคของ Jaeger-LeCoultre ตามปกติ สำหรับภาพยนตร์ The King’s Man นั้นมีกำหนดจะเข้าโรงฉายในประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาวันที่ 18 กันยายนนี้ ถ้าไม่ถูกเลื่อนเสียก่อนเพราะสถานการณ์ Covid ที่ยังคงความรุนแรงอยู่ในหลายประเทศ

Ok … I will admit to the fact that I did not see this one coming. Jaeger-LeCoultre has released a limited edition of 100 watches designed to fit with the context of the upcoming prequel to the Kingsman series of movies.
As the movie goes back 100 years to the origin of the Kingsman agency, it is necessary for Jaeger-LeCoultre to design the watch correspondingly. The key inspiration was found in a 1907 pocket watch called Couteau (French for “knife”) which stands out for the triangular bow over the crown at 12 o’clock. The resulting Master Ultra Thin Kingsman Knife Watch is every bit as elegant as befit the Kingsman agents and their impeccable attires.
The 40 mm pink gold case measures only 4.25 mm thick. This is possible due to the use of the hand-winding Calibre 849 which itself is as thin as 1.85 mm but every bit as solid as it needs to be, thanks to the expertise of the La Grande Maison of Le Sentier. We cannot see this movement though because it is protected behind a closed caseback, engraved with the Kingsman logo and “One of 100” production designation.
The watch is made available through Mr Porter from now until 6 September after which time it can be purchased from Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques as per normal practice. As for the movie, well, that is scheduled to screen in US cinemas on 18 September 2020, for now.
