The Chanel Première Manchette cuff watch is a creation that deftly blends the classic and the modern and can do double duty as a piece of jewelry that can tell time. The timepiece is part of the Première collection launched in 1987. The case evokes the stopper of Chanel No. 5 perfume bottle and Paris’s Place Vendôme, where the Maison’s flagship watch and jewelry boutique is located. Chanel has reinterpreted the Première timepiece many times over the years, and this latest reinterpretation is designed to be worn as a cuff. The bracelet of steel chain and black leather, a twist on the strap of Chanel’s iconic 2.55 bag, allows the watch to be worn alone as an elegant statement piece or mixed and matched with pieces from Chanel’s jewelry collections to enhance your look on different occasions.
The 19.7 mm x 15.2 mm case of yellow gold-coated steel makes the black lacquered dial with gold hands stand out in a striking way. The bracelet of yellow gold-coated steel interwoven with black leather comes with a classic deployant clasp. Driven by a quartz movement, the watch has no winding crown and time-setting is done via a small button concealed in the case back, reflecting Chanel’s attention to detail and mastery of design for everyday wearability.
