นิทรรศการเดี่ยวที่สะท้อนความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างจินตนาการและความเป็นจริงในมุมมองของ แทน โฆษิตพิพัฒน์

งานศิลปะรูปแบบต่างๆ ที่มีให้เราได้ศึกษาพินิจพิเคราะห์กันนั้นมักจะเป็นสิ่งที่ร้อยเรียงและถ่ายทอดมาจาก อารมณ์ ความรู้สึก ประสบการณ์ชีวิต หรือการเดินทางและความเป็นตัวตนของศิลปินแต่ละท่านที่เจ้าตัวนั้นอาจจะไม่ได้แสดงออกให้เราได้เห็นกันจากภายนอก งานแสดงนิทรรศการเดี่ยว Further Than Sigh ของ ณภัส หรือ แทน โฆษิตพิพัฒน์ ศิลปินหนุ่มวัย 30 ที่กำลังจะเกิดขึ้นนี้ก็เป็นอีกหนึ่งมุมมองที่ตัวศิลปินเองนั้นเผยให้เราได้เห็นอีกด้านหนึ่งของเขาที่เราอาจจะคาดไม่ถึง
แทน โฆษิตพิพัฒน์ ต้องการนำเสนอประสบการณ์และเรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับกิจวัตรประจำวันและโลกใบใหม่ที่เขาก้าวเข้าไปคลุกคลีตลอดระยะเวลากว่าสองปี ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการขี่มอเตอร์ไซค์เพียงลำพังยามค่ำคืนท่องไปในราตรีที่มืดมิดในกรุงเทพฯ และเชียงราย หรือการได้เข้าไปสู่โลกแห่งจินตนาการผ่านเพื่อนกลุ่มใหม่ๆ ของเขา ซึ่งสิ่งเหล่านี้ที่เขาบ่มเพาะมานั้นอาจจะเป็นอีกด้านของเขาที่ผู้คนอาจจะไม่เคยได้เห็นหรือไม่เคยสัมผัสมาก่อน โดยเรื่องราวที่เขานำมาเสนอในนิทรรศการครั้งนี้เป็นการบอกเล่าเรื่องราวผ่านภาพวาดเทคนิคต่างๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นสีอะคริลิค เทคนิคถ่านชาโคล และเทคนิคดิจิตอลกว่า 45 ชิ้น และประติมากรรมอีก 5 ชิ้นที่สะท้อนความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างโลกแห่งจินตนาการและโลกแห่งความเป็นจริงที่เขาเองได้ประสบและประหลาดใจกับสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นจากโลกแห่งจินตนาการที่เขาเพิ่งค้นพบ ทั้งยังส่งผลให้เกิดการพัฒนาเพื่อก้าวข้ามความคิดแบบเดิมๆ และมีผลต่อมุมมองหลายๆ อย่างของเขาด้วย
แทน โฆษิตพิพัฒน์ กล่าวว่า “ในความเข้าใจของผมคือ อย่างไรก็ตามเราก็ต้องใช้ชีวิตในโลกของความจริงที่จำเจอย่างที่เป็นอยู่ในปัจจุบัน ถึงแม้ในยามว่างของผมอาจจะชอบการเขียนนวนิยายกับเพื่อนบนโลกออนไลน์ ที่เต็มไปด้วยจินตนาการที่สร้างกันขึ้นมาเองก็ตาม ทุกอย่างก็ยังคงอยู่ในส่วนของจินตนาการ ซึ่งจินตนาการนั้นมันเป็นได้ทั้งศัตรูและเพื่อนของเรา มันบังคับให้เรารู้สึกและรับรู้ในหลายๆด้าน ทั้งความกลัว ความเกลียด และ ความคาดหวัง ล้วนต่างสะท้อนตัวตนที่แท้จริงของเรา จากคนที่เคยวิตกกังวลและเคยมีความเครียด จินตนาการของผมจะคอยคุมชีวิตผมเป็นส่วนใหญ่ ในช่วง Covid-19 ที่ผ่านมาเป็นช่วงที่ผมต้องต่อสู้กับมันอย่างที่สุด จนตัวเองแทบจะยอมแพ้ เพราะผมไม่สามารถเข้าใจมันได้ว่าอะไรจริงหรือไม่จริง หรือหาวิธีที่ผมจะควบคุมมันอย่างไร จนสุดท้ายหลังจากเหตุการณ์หนึ่งที่เปลี่ยนชีวิตผม ผมได้มีโอกาสพบกับกลุ่มเพื่อนใหม่ๆ ที่เป็นคน Creative และ มีจินตนาการร่วมกัน ทั้งนักวาดภาพ YouTuber นักพากย์เสียง ที่ต่างชื่นชอบในการเขียนนวนิยายและใช้จินตนาการในเชิง Productive ผมจึงได้เรียนรู้อะไรมากมายเกี่ยวกับตัวเองและวิธีการควบคุมสิ่งที่อยู่ในความคิดที่ทำให้เรากลัวกับทุกสิ่งทุกอย่างมาโดยตลอด จากคนที่ไม่ชอบมีเพื่อน ชอบขับมอเตอร์ไซค์เที่ยวไปคนเดียวตอนกลางคืนเพื่อหนีความเครียด กลายเป็นคนที่สามารถควบคุมความคิดวิตกกังวลของตน และใช้มันในการทำให้เราเป็นคนที่เข้าใจชีวิตได้ดีกว่าเดิม”

Art of various kinds are typically expressions of the artists’ feelings and emotions interwoven with their life experiences, personal journeys and inner selves, which may not be readily apparent when we look at the artists themselves. Napat “Tan” Kositpipat’s solo exhibition “Further Than Sight” reveals an unexpected side of the 30-year-old artist.
Tan Kositpipat wishes to take viewers on a journey through the two worlds in which he has lived his life, the real world and the world of imagination, allowing those who so wish to explore the connection between the two. From solo nighttime motorcycle trips in Bangkok and Chiang Rai to his exploration of a new world with a new group of friends, these experiences form another side of Tan that people may not have glimpsed. His stories are told through 45 paintings executed using various techniques, from acrylic to charcoal to digital painting, and 5 sculptures reflecting the connection between the two worlds he has lived in. The surprises he encountered in the world of imagination led him to overcome conventional thinking. They also affected his perspective in many ways.
The artist notes that “in my understanding, we still have to live in the mundane reality of today. Even though in my free time I might enjoy writing novels with friends in the online world, which is filled with self-created imagination, everything remains within the realm of imagination. Imagination can be both our enemy and our friend; it forces us to feel and perceive in various ways. Fear, hatred, and expectations all reflect our true selves. From someone who used to be anxious and stressed, my imagination mostly controlled my life. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I had to fight against it the most, almost to the point of giving up because I couldn’t understand what was real or not, or how to control it.
“Eventually, after a life changing event, I got the chance to meet new friends who are creative and share the same imagination,” the artist continued. “These friends include illustrators, YouTubers and voice actors who enjoy writing novels and use their imagination productively. I learned a lot about myself and how to control my thoughts, which had always made me fearful of everything. From someone who didn’t like having friends and preferred riding a motorcycle alone at night to escape stress, I became someone who can control anxious thoughts and use them to gain a better understanding of life.”
“Further Than Sight” explores the relationship between the world of imagination and reality through the eye of Tan Kositpipat. The exhibition is on view at 333Gallery Warehouse 30 from July 6 – 31. For more information, please visit 333Gallery’s website.
