Double Exposure Animal Portraits

Norwegian Artist Andreas Lie fuses wild creatures with landscapes using double exposure. In his delightful series of animal portraiture, the artist cleverly uses this photographic technique so that woods, water, mountains and even the Northern Lights are contained within the bodies of the animals. His collection mostly features animals from arctic climates, and the landscapes projected on their bodies are glimpses in to their natural environement. Each animal internalizes their landscapes, and metaphorically become one with it. The texture of each image is surreal, and each animal seems to carry with it a story and sense of identity.

Lie’s animal portraits have been printed on canvas, bags, clocks and many more. They are avaiable for purchase on Society6. Learn more about the artist and his work on his official Facebook page.
