ที่ประชุมผู้ถือหุ้น Daimler มีมติให้แยกธุรกิจรถยนต์และรถตู้อยู่ภายใต้บริษัท Mercedes-Benz และธุรกิจรถบรรทุกและรถโดยสารอยู่ภายใต้บริษัท Daimler Truck

ที่ประชุมผู้ถือหุ้น Daimler ที่เบอร์ลินซึ่งมีจำนวนเสียงรวมประมาณ 5,000 เสียงได้มีมติเมื่อวานนี้ (23 พ.ค.) ให้มีการปรับโครงสร้างองค์กรภายใต้โครงการชื่อ Project Future ซึ่งมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อความแข็งแกร่งทางธุรกิจในระยะยาว เพื่อความคล่องตัวในการแข่งขัน และเพื่อความมั่นคงในทางอาชีพของพนักงานบริษัท ในการนี้ ธุรกิจรถยนต์และรถตู้จะถูกแยกไปไว้ภายใต้บริษัท Mercedes-Benz ส่วนธุรกิจรถบรรทุกและรถโดยสารจะไปอยู่ภายใต้บริษัท Daimler Truck เป็นสองหน่วยงานที่แยกกันโดยอิสระ ทั้งนี้ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 พฤศจิกายนเป็นต้นไป ในขณะที่บริษัท Daimler Financial Services ซึ่งเป็นหน่วยงานอิสระอยู่แล้วจะใช้ชื่อใหม่ว่า Daimler Mobility ตั้งแต่วันที่ 24 กรกฎาคมนี้
แมนเฟรด บิสชอฟฟ์ ประธานคณะกรรมการกำกับดูแลของ Daimler กล่าวว่า “มติในครั้งนี้เป็นปัจจัยสำคัญสู่การปรับใช้โครงสร้างใหม่ของเครือเราในเดือนพฤศจิกายน Daimler มีความมุ่งมั่นที่จะเป็นผู้นำในยุคที่ทุกสิ่งเคลื่อนไปอย่างไม่หยุดนิ่งนี้ เราจึงต้องมีนวัตกรรมและความคล่องตัวในระดับสูงสุดเพื่อให้สามารถปรับตัวทันความเปลี่ยนแปลงต่างๆ ได้ โครงสร้างนี้จะยกระดับความสามารถของเราในการดำเนินธุรกิจในสภาพแวดล้อมที่มีการแข่งขันรุนแรงมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ ตลอดจนการระดมทุนด้วย”
ในโอกาสเดียวกันนี้ ที่ประชุมยังมีมติให้จ่ายเงินปันผลจำนวน 3.25
ยูโรต่อหุ้นซึ่งสูงเป็นอันดับสองในประวัติศาสตร์ของบริษัท เป็นจำนวนเงินรวม 3.5 พันล้านยูโรในวันจันทร์ที่

The Daimler annual shareholders’ meeting in Berlin, involving some 5,000 shareholders yesterday (23 May), has passed a resolution to restructure the group under the Project Future initiative. The objectives are to improve long-term business strength, operational agility and employees’ job security. Under the approved plan, the car and van business will operate under Mercedes-Benz AG while the truck and business will be under Daimler Truck AG. The two separated entities will assume this role from 1 November onwards. Meanwhile, Daimler Financial Services which is already independent will be renamed as Daimler Mobility on 24 July.
Manfred Bischoff, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Daimler AG, said “This was the decisive step for us to start with our new structure in November. Daimler has the ambition to be a leader in the new era of mobility. This demands the highest degree of innovation and agility in order to react quickly to changes. The new structure will enhance our ability to act in a dynamically growing competitive environment, including in terms of raising capital.”
At this same meeting, another resolution was passed to pay a dividend of EUR 3.25 per share, which is the second highest rate in the history of the company. The payout of EUR 3.5 billion will be made on Monday 27 May.
