The Reserve is the brand name used by Pruksa Real Estate for their high-end condominiums. These properties are designed to attract young and successful entrepreneurs, top level executives and new generation business owners in the market for a residence for themselves, as well as those who are interested in real asset as a long-term investment.
Located on Soi Suanplu, only 80 meters off South Sathorn Road, The Reserve Sathorn can claim itself as a true CBD and a true Sathorn property – a rarity these days. The 30-storey building features only 134 units, with the top two floors dedicated to various amenities that correspond with the urban lifestyle of the target group.
Luxuo Thailand was given full access to this “modern colonial” property for a day, and we chose to explore it with high-profile individuals who could be future residents. The experience began at the spacious arrival court that opens into the lobby which overlooks a center court with black forest marbles from Turkey. A large concierge desk sits next to the elevator hall, offering residents the kind of true 24/7 assistance they have always wanted for matters within the property and beyond.
Two fully furnished show units gave invitees a glimpse into what high-rise living can be like in Suanplu area. We could tell how pleased our guests were to be able to see the actual views from the rooms – it is a totally elevated experience from touring a mock-up one on ground level indeed. Four unit types are offered at The Reserve Sathorn. The 1-bedroom units are sized from 49.85 to 56.50 square meters with a dedicated bathroom for visitors.
At the top of this range are the 1-bedroom units with the multifunctional Crystal Balcony the owner can use as a reading corner, a workstation or a workout area, thanks to its position of being indoors and outdoors at the same time. This lovely feature is available for all 2-bedroom units which are at the size of 104 square meters. Ceiling height is 3 meters for the living room and the bedrooms, and 2.7 meters for the kitchen, the bathrooms and the walk-in closet.
As the guests have experienced, all units are equipped with top-notch furnishings such as Caesarstone kitchen counter from the United States, Blanco sinks and faucets from Germany, Gorenje induction hobs and built-in refrigerator from Slovenia. The 2-bedroom units are equipped with a Temptech wine cellar from Norway as well.
Finally, the amenities on the top two floors were revealed to our guests. The Reserve Sathorn is one of the very few properties in Bangkok to have a private spa and salon on the same 29th floor as the gym. This facility is made available to residents by reservation. Unit owners can enjoy a session with a therapist, a manicurist or a hairdresser of their choice in total privacy, without having to leave the building at all. If they do not have one on call, the concierge will gladly assist, as with other needs in daily life.
Another important facility on this 29th floor is the Crystal Lounge. Commanding the west view towards the Chao Praya River, its symmetrical form is calculated to emphasize the “beauty of shade” concept of the property where light and shadow combine to create an ambiance of true sophistication. This glasshouse in the sky is a spacious recreational area the residents can take an advantage of with prior booking. It is ideal for a private party with friends and family, complete with an adjoining open terrace and a separated corner for the catering crew to go about their preparation. Guests joining us for the daytime session were given a taste of how this could work in real life with an afternoon tea set served by the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok.
Later in the same day, with the sun out of the way, another group of invitees had the chance to enjoy dinner on the white carrara marble deck of the 30th floor after finishing their visit to the show units. This rooftop location with arches all around offers a panoramic view of the city in different directions. Residents can make some laps in the Colonial Thermal Pool on one side or just relax in the Jacuzzi on another side. For this evening though, the program called for everyone to dress their best as food was served by Chef Earth Saritwat Wanvichitkun of the one Michelin-starred Saawaan in the direct neighborhood of the property. Pruksa’s Executive Vice President Pattama Piyamaneeporn and Managing Director Pakarin Dattibongs were present for both sessions to personally share with our guests the nuanced details of this colonial gem in the heart of the city.
Construction is complete at The Reserve Sathorn. It is ready for move-in. Units cost from 12.9 million baht (from 200,000 to 300,000 baht per square meters).
