บริษัทชั้นนำระดับโลกอย่าง Michelin เป็นที่รู้จักกันดีในฐานะผู้จัดทำมิชลินไกด์หรือหนังสือไกด์ในการเดินทางที่กลายมาเป็นคู่มือในการสรรหาร้านอาหารน่าลองของทั้งนักเดินทางและคนในท้องถิ่น อย่างในประเทศไทยเองก็มีร้านอาหารที่ได้รับรางวัลการันตีจากมิชลินไกด์ไม่น้อย แต่อันที่จริง มิชลินไกด์ไม่ได้มีรางวัลการันตีให้แค่ร้านอาหารเท่านั้น เพราะยังมีรางวัลสำหรับโรงแรมที่เรียกว่า “กุญแจมิชลิน” ด้วย ซึ่งก็เพิ่งมีการประกาศนี้ครั้งแรกในประเทศไทยไปเมื่อปลายเดือนกันยายนที่ผ่านมา และเป็นที่น่ายินดีอย่างยิ่งที่ปีนี้มีโรงแรมในประเทศไทยถึง 8 โรงแรมสามารถคว้ารางวัล “กุญแจมิชลิน 3 ดอก” ซึ่งเป็นรางวัลสูงสุดที่มอบให้กับโรงแรมที่พิเศษโดดเด่น หรูหรามีสไตล์ มีการให้บริการชั้นยอดในทุกองค์ประกอบ และเป็นจุดหมายปลายทางในตัวเองสำหรับการเดินทางสุดพิเศษครั้งหนึ่งในชีวิต ทำให้ผู้เข้าพักได้รับประสบการณ์การเข้าพักที่เหนือชั้นและตราตรึงในความทรงจำ
1. Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai จังหวัดเชียงใหม่

The Michelin Group is the publisher of the Michelin Guide used by diners and travelers to find appealing restaurants in specific areas around the world. A good number of restaurants in Thailand have been awarded recognition from Michelin. Starting in 2024, the Michelin Guide also recognizes hotel excellence through the Michelin Key rating system. In September of this year, 8 hotels in Thailand were awarded “3 Michelin Keys,” the highest honor given to hotels in recognition of their exceptional character, style, quality and consistency of service, which together translate to extraordinary and memorable once-in-a-lifetime experiences for guests.
1. Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai
The only northern Thailand property to be awarded 3 Michelin Keys this year, the Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, located in Mae Rim District, offers accommodation in luxury pavilions, villas, and residences that blend traditional Thai architecture with contemporary interior design. The beautiful grounds with terraced rice paddies and waterlily ponds are set against a serene mountain backdrop. The infinity pool is another highly Insta-worthy feature, especially when it is bathed in the soft golden light just before sunset. Guests are offered opportunities to immerse themselves in rural Thai ways of life, including rice planting and the daily Farmers’ Parade taking place in the late afternoon amid the picturesque landscape.
2. Mandarin Oriental Bangkok
Located on the bank of the Chao Phraya in the Bangrak – Charoenkrung neighborhood, the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, at 148 years old, is one of the world’s most famous hotels and one of the oldest in Asia. Accommodation is housed in an architecture that seamlessly blends Victorian, Neoclassical, and Thai styles. Each guestroom boasts a uniquely refined décor; particularly distinctive are the highly popular Author’s Suites, named after literary giants and luminaries who have stayed at the hotel – Joseph Conrad, Somerset Maugham, Noël Coward, James Michener, to name a few. Nestled by the Chao Phraya with views of Krungthon Bridge, The Siam is an oasis of tranquility reminiscent of the countryside despite being located in the heart of Bangkok. Widely renowned for its unique architecture and interior décor, The Siam is designed to showcase art and antiques from Thailand and around the world, every nook and cranny decorated with exquisite pieces, making guests feel as if they are staying in a small museum of art and antiques. Another unique feature of The Siam is Sak Yant studio, which counts global celebs like Michelle Rodriguez and Cara Delevingne among its clientele. Guests can choose from a variety of traditional sacred tattoo designs, including Yant Ha Thaew (Five Rows) and Yant Kao Yod (Nine Peaks).
4. Soneva Kiri, Trat
Blending seamlessly with the surrounding rainforests, long stretches of white sand beach, and crystal-clear seawater around Koh Kood, Trat province, Soneva Kiri specializes in “Barefoot Luxury” – simple luxury in a setting that is eco-friendly by design. Guests relax in the embrace of beautiful nature as they take in the traditional Thai atmosphere present in all 32 super-spacious, ultra-private villas. An array of fun and memorable experiences is on offer, including Treepod Dining high in the treetops, surrounded by breathtaking views of the tropical rainforests and clear blue sky, calming nature walks along the island’s trails, romantic stargazing at night, and movies at the stunning outdoor cinema over a lake.
5. Samujana Villas, Surat Thani
Situated on Koh Samui, Samujana takes its name from the island and the Moroccan word for “coral” – a fitting name given its hillside location overlooking a coral reef. The resort comprises 23 villas of modern design perched on hill slopes. Ranging from 3-8 bedrooms, the villas all come with a large infinity pool, a home theater, a personal villa manager and cleaning staff, and some also feature a rooftop jacuzzi and garden. A personal chef is available on request. In terms of outdoor recreation, guests can enjoy island hopping, sailing and sightseeing, and there’s even a tennis court open day and night to allow guests to make the most of their stay. After all, Samujana’s motto is “Your Place, Your Time”.
6. Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Krabi
Located on the shores of the Andaman Sea surrounded by forests, mountains, and limestone outcrops, Phulay Bay, is the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve property to offer a blend of luxury, impeccable service, and traditional Thai design elements, as epitomized by the welcome pavilion that seems to float over a pool. The resort boasts 54 spacious villas and pavilions with localized décor and a sense of complete privacy and comfort. Each guestroom comes with views of the sea and tropical forest, a private pool, and indoor and outdoor bathrooms. The Ritz-Carlton Reserve experience extends to such services as a boat trip to beautiful Koh Hong, private dinner anywhere in the resort, and Thai art and culture classes taught by local experts.
7. Amanpuri, Phuket
The Aman Group’s very first resort sits surrounded by towering coconut palms and giant trees on Pansea Beach on the west coast of Phuket island, an area known for its beauty, tranquility, and sense of seclusion. Designed by American architect Ed Tuttle, known for his iconic hotel and resort designs, Amanpuri’s architecture is inspired by Ayutthaya-style Thai houses. Accommodation includes 40 pavilions and 44 private villas perched on hillsides. With leisure amenities including three swimming pools of 28, 29 and 10 meters, a tennis court, paddleboards and jet skis, guests will never lack for things to do. The resort’s ultimate signature, however, is the sense of peace and serenity mirroring the name Amanpuri, which is Sanskrit for “place of peace”.
8. Keemala, Phuket
Perched on hills overlooking the coastal views above Kamala Village, Keemala’s design stands out yet blends seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. Accommodation comes in the form of 38 villas in four different styles inspired by the native tribes of Phuket: Clay Pool Cottages reflecting the traditions of the Patapee (Earth) clan, Tent Pool Villas inspired by the traveling clan called Khon Jorn (Wanderers), Tree Pool Houses representing a nod to the Weha (Sky) clan, and the popular Bird’s Nest Pool Villas inspired by the Rung Nok (Nest) clan. In addition to a full array of luxury amenities, Keemala offers holistic activities designed to foster physical, mental and spiritual rejuvenation, including the art of folding lotus flowers and sessions in a meditation cave under a waterfall.
