Xin ประกาศจุดยืนส่งเสริมธุรกิจนาฬิการะดับไมโครแบรนด์ในประเทศไทย

ไมโครแบรนด์คือคำที่ใช้เรียกแบรนด์นาฬิกาขนาดเล็กที่มักจะเกิดจากการริเริ่มของคนรักนาฬิกาเพียงไม่กี่คน หรือในหลายกรณีก็อาจจะเกิดได้ด้วยความมุ่งมั่นของเจ้าของเพียงแค่คนเดียวเท่านั้น ไมโครแบรนด์ไม่ใช่เทรนด์ใหม่เพราะเป็นที่รู้จักของคนเล่นนาฬิกามาอย่างยาวนาน โดยมีอินเตอร์เนทในยุคก่อนที่จะมีโซเชียลมีเดียเป็นเครื่องมือในการประชาสัมพันธ์และการขาย
นาฬิกาที่เกิดจากแบรนด์ลักษณะนี้ก็มีดีไซน์ทุกแนวตั้งแต่สปอร์ตไปจนถึงเดรส และตั้งแต่เรโทรไปจนถึงโมเดิร์น อย่างไรก็ดี ประเทศไทยของเราที่มีฐานผู้ซื้อนาฬิกาเป็นจำนวนมากกลับไม่มีอุตสาหกรรมไมโครแบรนด์อย่างจริงจังเหมือนในหลายประเทศ คุณอภิชัย ชินเศรษฐวงศ์ซึ่งเป็นนักสะสมนาฬิกาและผู้นำเข้านาฬิกาหลายแบรนด์จึงชักชวนเพื่อนคนรักนาฬิกาด้วยกันจัดการประกวดชื่อ Thai Microbrand Watch Design Contest 2022 ขึ้นเมื่อปีที่แล้ว เพื่อเป็นการจุดประกายความสนใจ แล้วนำผลงานที่เกิดขึ้นไปสู่กระบวนการผลิตจริงด้วยการใช้ซัพพลายเออร์ชิ้นส่วนที่ได้มาตรฐาน
คุณอภิชัย ชินเศรษฐวงศ์กล่าวในฐานะเจ้าของแบรนด์ Xin ว่า “ความฝันของผมคือการสร้างนาฬิกาไมโครแบรนด์ของไทยให้เป็นที่รู้จักไปทั่วโลก โดยเน้นส่งเสริมนักออกแบบไทยรุ่นใหม่ รวมถึงการสร้างแพลทฟอร์มการผลิต การตลาดรองรับ มุ่งเน้นผลักดันผลงานที่ดีมีเอกลักษณ์ สามารถสวมใส่ได้จริงในชีวิตประจำวัน”
JD01 คือชื่อของนาฬิกาที่ชนะการออกแบบและได้รับการถ่ายทอดสู่กระบวนการผลิตจนเกิดเป็นนาฬิกา Xin รุ่นแรก โดยชื่อ JD นั้นก็มีจากคำว่า “เจดีย์” ตรงๆ เลย ด้วยความตั้งใจของคุณสถิตย์ จันทศิลป์ผู้เป็นดีไซเนอร์ซึ่งเลือกนำเอารายละเอียดจากศิลปะไทยที่อยู่รอบตัวมาใช้ เริ่มต้นด้วยตัวเรือนที่มีการเล่นระดับชั้นตั้งแต่ขาตัวเรือนขึ้นไปจนถึงขอบตัวเรือนเหมือนการฐานของเจดีย์ที่แผ่กว้างแล้วค่อยๆ สอบเข้า พื้นหน้าปัดแกะสลักเป็นลวดลายเหมือนธงตุง เข็มบอกเวลาโดยเฉพาะเข็มชั่วโมงมีรูปทรงเหมือนกระสวยทอผ้า สายนาฬิกาพิมพ์ลายเชือกประคต ผลิตเป็นสีแดง สีน้ำเงินและสีเขียวจำนวนสีละ 100 เรือน

The term “microbrand” refers to small-sized watch brands that often originate from the passion of a few individuals or, in many cases, from the dedication of just one person. Microbrands are not a new trend as they have been popular among watch enthusiasts for a long time, with the pre-social media Internet as an enabling tool for publicity and sales.
Microbrand watches come in various designs, ranging from sporty to dressy and from retro to modern. However, despite having a large base of watch buyers, Thailand does not have an established microbrand industry like in many other countries. With this in mind, watch collector and importer Apichai Chinsetthawong has organised the Thai Microbrand Watch Design Contest 2022 with the help of a few collector friends, with the aim to spark interest and transform the winning design into actual products using parts from trusted suppliers.
Xin owner Apichai Chinsetthawong shares, “My dream is to build a Thai microbrand that is recognised on a global scale. This will be done through the promotion of young Thai designers, the development of production and marketing platforms, and the offering of uniquely designed watches that are wearable in daily life.”
The first Xin watch released to the market is called JD01. The codename JD rhymes with the word “chedi” or “pagoda” in the Thai language. This design by Satit Chanthasilp is a culmination of artistic elements in the Thai culture. The multi-level case resembles the solid foundation of the pagoda, with the lugs forming its very base. The pattern of the engraved dial takes after that of a northern Thai flag called Tung. Meanwhile, the hands, especially the hour hand, resemble the shuttle used to weave fabrics. The watch is worn on a strap with a Thai rope pattern printed on it. Xin JD01 is produced in three colours of red, blue and green, with the quantity of 100 units each.
Readers interested in Xin watches can view the actual products at SSC Building, Soi Sathupradit 29, every day from 09:30 to 20:00.
