Combining the technical reliability of a sports watch capable of withstanding extreme conditions and high-precision, high-complication watchmaking, the Diver X Skeleton stands as yet another proof of Ulysse Nardin’s horological prowess. The visible architecture of the timepiece matches the level of mechanical sophistication inside. The look of luxury sports-chic is centered on the giant “X” on the dial, which can be said to stand for the brand’s continued exploration of innovation in different facets of watchmaking.
In designing the Diver X Skeleton, Ulysse Nardin not only sought to deliver technical prowess and reliability but also to extend an invitation to take a deep dive into the underwater world with this enticing new invention cloaked in white.
At the heart of this ultra-contemporary watch is the Caliber UN-372 Manufacture skeletonized automatic movement with 96 hours of power reserve. The movement comprises 171 components including an oversized oscillator made of silicium, a material that Ulysse Nardin introduced to the watchmaking world. The escapement wheel, anchor and balance spring are also made of the same material.
As befits Ulysse Nardin’s dive watch pedigree, the polished and satin-finished titanium case – measuring 44 mm in diameter – features a unidirectional rotating bezel topped with white rubber. The skeleton X-shaped gray dial is also polished and satin-finished, with indices and hands coated with Super-LumiNova to provide easy reading under any condition. Water resistant up to 200 meters, this epitome of cool and freedom is available with a white rubber strap with titanium buckle or a white fabric strap.
