Rado เป็นบริษัทที่มีรากฐานก่อตั้งมายาวนานกว่า 100 ปี การดำเนินงานของ Rado มีปณิธาน “If we can imagine it, we can make it. And if we can make it, we will.” ของผู้ก่อตั้งเป็นเครื่องชี้นำจนนำไปสู่พัฒนาการมากมาย ที่สำคัญที่สุดก็คือการกลายเป็นเจ้าแห่งวัสดุหรือ Master of Materials ในวงการนาฬิกา เริ่มตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 1962 ที่มีการเปิดตัวนาฬิการุ่น DiaStar ซึ่งโดดเด่นด้วยขอบตัวเรือนทรงรีที่ผลิตจากวัสดุทังสเตนคาร์ไบด์ให้ทนทานต่อการขีดข่วนกว่าใคร หลังจากนั้นเมื่อ Rado เข้ามาอยู่ในเครือ Swatch Group ในปี ค.ศ. 1986 แล้วก็มีความก้าวหน้าทางด้านเทคโนโลยีอย่างต่อเนื่อง และเป็นแบรนด์ที่สามารถผลิตทั้งตัวเรือนและสายนาฬิกาด้วยวัสดุไฮเทคเซรามิกนับตั้งแต่นั้นมา

Rado DiaStar Original Skeleton มีตัวเรือนขนาด 38 มม. ด้านบนมีขอบตัวเรือน CeramosTM ขัดเงาครอบทับตัวเรือนที่ผลิตจากสเตนเลสสตีล แซฟไฟร์คริสตอลเป็นแบบยกเหลี่ยมสวยงาม เคลือบสารป้องกันแสงสะท้อนไว้ด้านในและมีโลโก้ Rado กับโลโก้ DiaStar อยู่ด้านในด้วย เครื่องนาฬิกาเป็นรุ่นคาลิเบอร์ R808 ซึ่งใช้แฮร์สปริงแบบนิวาครอนเพื่อให้ทนทานต่ออิทธิพลของสนามแม่เหล็กได้เป็นอย่างดี การขึ้นลานเป็นระบบอัตโนมัติ กำลังลานสำรองนานถึง 80 ชั่วโมง และมีจุดเด่นอยู่ที่การออกแบบเครื่องในลักษณะสเกเลตั้นซึ่งเป็นจุดดึงดูดสำคัญของเรือนเวลารุ่นนี้ พร้อมเคลือบชิ้นส่วนต่างๆ ของตัวเครื่องเป็นสีเทาแอนธราไซท์เพื่อให้ดูร่วมสมัยและช่วยขับให้เข็มและหลักชั่วโมงสีทองดูเด่นชัดที่สุด

Six decades after its premiere, the DiaStar watch returns in a skeletonized form, and with a highly resistant Ceramos bezel.

The company that is Rado today is rooted in an origin dating back over a century. For the most part of its history, it was guided by a simple motto from its founders: If we can imagine it, we can make it. And if we can make it, we will. Gradually over time, that zeitgeist has led Rado to the current position as a master of materials in the watch industry. The momentum kept building ever since the 1962 unveiling of the DiaStar watch with a uniquely oblong bezel made of scratch-resistant tungsten carbide material. Later on, Rado’s technology enjoyed an accelerated advancement, especially from 1986 when the brand became a part of Swatch Group. They began production of high-tech ceramic watches where not only the case but also the bracelet was crafted out of the pioneering material.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary last year, the DiaStar watch received an important upgrade with the new 38 mm case size, a modernized bracelet with H-link design, and, more importantly, a bezel made out of CeramosTM (a composite material offering the hardness properties of ceramics and the lustre of metal). This year, Rado follows up with this important launch of the DiaStar Original Skeleton watch with an open dial that reveals the technical elegance of the mechanical movement underneath.
Rado DiaStar Original Skeleton measures 38 mm in diameter. It features a polished CeramosTM bezel on top of a stainless steel case middle. The sapphire crystal is intricately facetted, treated with anti-reflective coating on the inside, and features Rado and DiaStar logos underneath. The self-winding R808 movement uses Nivachron hairspring in order to be more resistant to the influence of magnetic fields. Offering 80 hours of power reserve, the caliber is skeletonized to create the key allure for this timepiece. Its anthracite gray provides the necessary backdrop for the yellow gold colored hands and hour markers to stand out.
As a result, the new DiaStar Original Skeleton is true to its original design codes while also looking more contemporary with the lightness of the open movement architecture. It may not look decidedly sportive from these pictures but we can tell you that the watch is water resistant to the depth of 100 meters. So, together with the stainless steel bracelet with alternating polished and brushed elements, it can easily be your next all-round watch that looks proper enough for the weekdays and casual enough for the weekends.
