Panerai เปิดตัวนาฬิกา LAB-ID ใหม่ที่เรืองแสงได้จากเครื่องกำเนิดแสงในตัว

LAB-ID หรือ Laboratorio di Idee เป็นชื่อหน่วยงานภายในแผนกวิจัยและพัฒนาของ Panerai ที่ประกอบด้วยพนักงานจำนวน 50 คนที่ร่วมกันคิดค้นเพื่อสร้างสิ่งใหม่หรือยกระดับคุณภาพสิ่งเดิมที่มีอยู่แล้ว นวัตกรรมที่เกิดจากหน่วยงานนี้มีการนำไปใช้ในนาฬิกาคอนเซปท์วอทช์ที่ผลิตจริงแล้ว 3 รุ่นนับตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 2017 และในวันนี้ก็มีการเผยโฉมรุ่นที่ 4 อย่างเป็นทางการในชื่อ Submersible Elux LAB-ID PAM01800
Elux คือชื่อของเทคโนโลยีทางการทหารชนิดหนึ่งที่ Panerai จดสิทธิบัตรเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1966 ชื่อนี้ย่อมาจากคำว่า “elettroluminescenza” ในภาษาอิตาเลียน หรือ “การเรืองแสงด้วยพลังงานไฟฟ้า” และเทคโนโลยีดังกล่าวนั้นถูกนำไปใช้กับแผงอุปกรณ์ต่างๆ ในกองทัพเรืออิตาเลียน จนในวันนี้ Panerai ได้นำชื่อ Elux กลับมาใช้กับนวัตกรรมใหม่ล่าสุดในการเรืองแสงบนหน้าปัดนาฬิกาด้วยกลไกที่เป็นจักรกลล้วน โดยชุดไมโครเจเนอเรเตอร์ขนาดเล็กของเทคโนโลยี Power Light นี้จะดึงพลังงานจากลานของเครื่องนาฬิกามาสร้างเป็นไฟฟ้าที่จะไปส่องสว่างตามจุดต่างๆ บนหน้าปัด ที่น่าสนใจเป็นอย่างยิ่งก็คือการที่ Panerai สามารถเชื่อมต่อระบบ Power Light นี้เข้ากับชิ้นส่วนเคลื่อนไหวอย่างเช่นเข็มบอกเวลาและขอบตัวเรือน โดยที่ยังคงความสามารถในการกันน้ำได้เป็นอย่างดีซึ่งในกรณีก็คือ 500 เมตร
การสั่งให้ระบบนี้เริ่มทำงานและหยุดทำงานทำได้โดยการกดปุ่มที่ตำแหน่ง 8 นาฬิกา ระบบนี้สามารถเรืองแสงได้เป็นเวลานานสูงสุด 30 นาที และมีเครื่องหมายบอกกำลังลานสำรองเฉพาะของระบบเรืองแสงอยู่เหนือตำแหน่ง 6 นาฬิกา กลไกอันน่าทึ่งนี้ติดตั้งอยู่บนเครื่องนาฬิกาแบบขึ้นลานอัตโนมัติรุ่นคาลิเบอร์ P.9010/EL ซึ่งมีแบเรลจำนวนมากถึง 6 แบเรล แบ่งเป็น 4 แบเรลสำหรับระบบเรืองแสงและอีก 2 แบเรลสำหรับการทำงานได้นาน 3 วันของระบบการบอกเวลาตามปกติ ตัวเรือนขนาด 49 มม. ของนาฬิการุ่นนี้ผลิตจากวัสดุที-เซรามิเทคหรือไทเทเนียมที่ผ่านกระบวนการเคลือบเซรามิกของ Panerai ซึ่งมีน้ำหนักเบากว่าสเตนเลสสตีล 44% และทนทานต่อการแตกหักกว่าเซรามิกปกติ 10 เท่า สวมใส่ด้วยสายยางที่มีสีน้ำเงินโทนเดียวกันกับตัวเรือนซึ่งมีขนาดกว้าง 26 มม. ที่ขาตัวเรือนและ 22 มม. ที่หัวเข็มขัดไทเทเนียม
ผลงานแห่งการวิจัยและพัฒนานาน 8 ปีรุ่นนี้เป็นการบอกเล่าถึงเกียรติประวัติในอดีตของ Panerai ด้วยการก้าวสู่อนาคตอย่างกล้าหาญและมีนวัตกรรม Panerai จะผลิต Submersible Elux LAB-ID PAM01800 เป็นจำนวนรวม 150 เรือนในช่วงเวลา 3 ปีหรือปีละ 50 เรือน เราหวังว่าจะได้เห็นเรือนต้นแบบหรือเรือนจริงในเร็ววันเพื่อที่จะได้ถ่ายวีดีโอของนาฬิการุ่นนี้มาให้ทุกท่านได้ชมเพื่อให้หายข้องใจกันว่าเวลาทำงานแล้วจะสว่างตรงจุดใดและอย่างไรบ้าง

LAB-ID or Laboratorio di Idee is Panerai’s very own thinktank. The 50-strong unit under the Research and Development Department continuously pushes the envelope as they develop solutions or improve upon established standards. Some of their inventions are implemented into concept watches – three of which have been presented to the world since 2017. Today, they are joined by the fourth: the Submersible Elux LAB-ID PAM01800.
The Submersible Elux LAB-ID PAM01800 references a military chapter of Panerai, particularly one in 1966. At the time, Panerai patented a technology called “Elux” which is short for “elettroluminescenza” in Italian or “electroluminescence” in English, and used to illuminate naval instruments in the Italian Navy. The name is being used once again now for the brand’s newest breakthrough in the form of an on-demand Power Light feature. This completely mechanical system comprises a compact microgenerator that converts energy stored in movement’s barrels into electricity which then illuminates the various indicators on the dial.
Interestingly, Panerai managed to connect this Power Light feature to moving parts like the hands and the bezel as well, while maintaining perfect water resistance, in this case, to the depth of 500 meters. Activation and deactivation are done by a protected pusher at eight o’clock. Illumination is possible for up to 30 minutes with the linear indicator above six o’clock to show the remaining power. This ingenious mechanism is built into the self-winding Caliber P.9010/EL. It is housed within a 49 mm case that is made of Ti-Ceramitech. This proprietary ceramized titanium is 44% lighter than stainless steel and 10 times tougher against fracture than regular ceramic. It is worn on a matching blue rubber strap that tapers from 26 mm at the lugs to 22 mm at the trapezoidal titanium pin buckle.
A product of eight years research and development, the Submersible Elux LAB-ID PAM01800 pays tribute to Panerai’s heritage by making a bold and innovative step forward. Production of this highly distinctive timepiece is limited to only 150 pieces over a period of three years. We hope to be shown a working prototype or an actual product soon so we can take a video of the piece in action for the curious souls out there.
