Panerai สานต่อตำนานของนาฬิกา Radiomir ด้วยผลิตภัณฑ์หลากสไตล์ในปีนี้

ความเปลี่ยนแปลงหนึ่งที่เราเห็นของ Panerai ก็คือว่าตั้งแต่ที่งาน Watches and Wonders Geneva กลับมาจัดอย่างเต็มรูปแบบอีกครั้งหลังโควิด บูธของ Panerai ก็มีการตกแต่งด้วยธีมที่จริงจังและเปลี่ยนแปลงไปในแต่ละปีตามลักษณะของผลิตภัณฑ์ที่นำเสนอ อย่างเมื่อปีที่แล้วซึ่งต้องการเน้นนาฬิกาคอลเลคชั่น Submersible นั้น Panerai ก็แต่งบูธด้วยธีมเมืองโบราณใต้น้ำที่ดูน่าค้นหา และในปีนี้บูธของ Panerai ก็กลับดูสว่างและเชื้อเชิญให้ผู้คนเข้าไปเดินลัดเลาะตามใบเรือขนาดใหญ่ ราวกับว่าทุกคนกำลังออกเรืออยู่ในทะเลเมดิเตอเรเนียน
แรงบันดาลใจในการออกแบบบูธในครั้งนี้ก็คือเรือ Eilean ซึ่งเป็นเรือใบแบบสองเสากระโดงความยาว 22 เมตรที่ Panerai ใช้เวลาในการบูรณะใหม่ทั้งหมดเป็นเวลานาน 3 ปีตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 2006-2009 ความสำคัญของเรือลำนี้ก็คือว่าเป็นเรือที่ต่อขึ้นในปี ค.ศ. 1936 (โดยคนอื่นที่ไม่ใช่ Panerai) ซึ่งเป็นปีเดียวกันกับที่ Panerai เริ่มผลิตนาฬิกา Radiomir ส่งเข้ากองทัพเรืออิตาลีจนเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นแห่งตำนานในครั้งนี้
เดิมทีนั้น Radiomir ไม่ได้เป็นชื่อรุ่นนาฬิกา หากแต่เป็นชื่อของสารเรืองแสงที่ใช้สารเรเดียมเป็นส่วนผสมสำคัญ โดย Panerai จดสิทธิบัตรสารดังกล่าวนี้ในปี ค.ศ. 1916 เพื่อใช้ในการผลิตอุปกรณ์ความเที่ยงตรงสูงชนิดต่างๆ ให้กับกองทัพเรือ ในภายหลังเมื่อ Panerai เริ่มผลิตนาฬิกาส่งเข้ากองทัพด้วยจึงนำชื่อนี้มาใช้เรียกนาฬิกาตัวเรือนรูปทรงคุชชั่นที่มีสารเรืองแสงดังกล่าวและมีการเชื่อมเส้นโลหะเข้ากับตัวเรือนเพื่อให้ทำหน้าที่เป็นหูคล้องสายรัดกับข้อมือ แต่ว่านาฬิการุ่นนี้ก็ยังคงเป็นความลับทางการทหารที่โลกไม่ได้รู้จักจนเวลาผ่านไปอีกนานและ Panerai เริ่มผลิตนาฬิกาดังกล่าวขายให้กับพลเรือนในช่วงทศวรรษที่ 1990
ในปีนี้ Panerai ผลิตนาฬิกา Radiomir รุ่นใหม่ในหลากหลายสไตล์ด้วยกันซึ่งทั้งหมดได้รับการนำเสนอภายในงาน Watches and Wonders Geneva เราเริ่มต้นรุ่นแรกกันที่ Radiomir Otto Giorni PAM01347 ซึ่งเราเชื่อว่าจะถูกใจคนรักนาฬิกาสไตล์วินเทจแบบดูเก่าจริงอะไรจริงด้วยตัวเรือนขนาด 45 มม. ที่ผลิตจากอีสตีล (สเตนเลสสตีลที่ได้มาจากกระบวนการรีไซเคิล) และผ่านการขัดแต่งด้วยมือก่อนจะเพิ่มสีลงไปเบาๆ ด้วยกระบวนการพีวีดีเพื่อให้ร่องรอยที่เกิดจากการขัดแต่งดูชัดขึ้นราวกับว่านาฬิกาเรือนนั้นผ่านการใช้งานมายาวนานหลายสิบปี แต่ยังคงกันน้ำ 100 เมตรเหมือนกับนาฬิกาใหม่ทุกประการ โดย Panerai เรียกเทคนิคนี้ว่า “บรูนิโต” และผลลัพธ์ที่เกิดขึ้นบนตัวเรือนก็ดูเข้ากันได้เป็นอย่างดีกับหน้าปัดลายเกรนไล่โทนสีน้ำตาล บนหน้าปัดมีข้อความ “8 Giorni” เพื่อบ่งบอกว่าเครื่องนาฬิกาไขลานรุ่น P.5000 ที่ใช้นั้นมีกำลังลานสำรองยาวนานถึง 8 วัน สวมใส่ด้วยสายหนังลูกวัวสีน้ำตาลเข้มที่ผลิตโดยเวิร์คช็อปชื่อ Cuoio Toscano
สำหรับใครที่ต้องการนาฬิกาแบบมีคอมพลิเคชั่น Panerai ขอเสนอ Radiomir Annual Calendar ในสองเวอร์ชั่นด้วยกัน เวอร์ชั่นแรกคือ PAM01363 ตัวเรือนโกลด์เทคคู่กับหน้าปัดลายซันบรัชสีน้ำเงิน ที่บริเวณ 3 นาฬิกามีหน้าต่างเพื่อแสดงค่าวันและวันที่ ถัดออกไปรอบนอกจะเป็นวงแหวนที่มีชื่อเดือนทั้ง 12 ซึ่งจะหมุนเอาชื่อเดือนปัจจุบันมาอยู่ตรงกับตำแหน่งที่สัญลักษณ์สามเหลี่ยมชี้อยู่อย่างถูกต้องทุกครั้งที่ขึ้นเดือนใหม่ โดยเจ้าของนาฬิกาจำเป็นต้องปรับตั้งปฏิทินของเครื่องนาฬิกาแบบขึ้นลานอัตโนมัติรุ่น P.9010/AC นี้เองเพียงแค่ปีละหนึ่งครั้งเท่านั้นเมื่อขึ้นวันที่ 1 มีนาคมเนื่องจากจำนวนวันในเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ของแต่ละปีนั้นไม่แน่นอน
Radiomir Annual Calendar เวอร์ชั่นที่สองใช้รหัสรุ่นว่า PAM01432 โดยมีตัวเรือนแพลทตินัมเทคคู่กับหน้าปัดลายซันบรัชสีเบอร์กันดี นาฬิการุ่นนี้เป็นลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่นที่จัดอยู่ในกลุ่ม Experience Edition ซึ่งเมื่อใครซื้อแล้วจะได้รับเชิญไปร่วมกิจกรรมแบบสุดพิเศษเฉพาะผู้เป็นเจ้าของนาฬิการุ่นนั้นๆ เท่านั้น อย่างที่ผ่านมาก็มีการให้ไปเข้าค่ายฝึกกับหน่วยคอมมานโดของอิตาลี ไปสัมผัสบรรยากาศของธารน้ำแข็งขั้วโลกกับไมค์ ฮอร์น และไปดำน้ำในหมู่เกาะอันห่างไกลผู้คนกับกิโยม เนรี ส่วนลูกค้าทั้ง 24 คนที่ซื้อ Radiomir Annual Calendar PAM01432 นี้จะได้ไปค้นหาความลับแห่งกรุงโรมผ่านทางการนำชมสถานที่สำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ วัฒนธรรมและงานฝีมือต่างๆ ซึ่งเราเชื่อว่าทาง Panerai จะต้องจัดเตรียมอะไรที่เป็นพิเศษเหนือทัวร์ทั่วไปไว้อย่างแน่นอน

There are simple and complicated Radiomir novelties to suit every need this year.

Ever since the physical return of Watches and Wonders Geneva after the pandemic, the Panerai booth has displayed a very high level of transformation. Last year, they immersed everyone in the underwater world, complete with a depiction of lost ancient cities, to feature the Submersible family of watches. This year, things were significantly brighter as the brand invited visitors to walk through the billowing sails of what could be a fine vessel on the Mediterranean Sea.
The vessel that inspired the latest booth concept is the Eilean: Panerai’s sailboat ambassador. A 22-metre-long, 2-masted Bermudan ketch, the boat was restored over a period of three years, from 2006 to 2009, to its glorious splendour. It is interesting to note that the ship was originally built in 1936, not at the commission of Panerai, but in the same year that the company began to supply the Italian Navy with the Radiomir watch. And so, a legend began.
Radiomir was originally not a watch’s name but rather, a reference to a radium-based substance that glows in the dark. This material was patented in 1916 for use in high-precision instruments of the Navy. Later, when the Panerai company began to supply watches as well, the name was applied to a certain cushion-shaped timepiece with luminescent numerals and welded lugs. This military secret did not become public information for decades until Panerai began to sell watches to civilians in the 1990s. Variations of the Radiomir watch have been offered year after year, with some notable ones from the latest edition of Watches and Wonders Geneva covered below.
First, the Radiomir Otto Giorni PAM01347 marks the watch of choice for those who prefer an extreme vintage vibe. Its 45 mm eSteel (recycled stainless steel) case is individually finished by hand to create a seasoned look, which is then augmented by a PVD treatment to achieve what Panerai calls the Brunito effect. The resulting timepiece appears worn and weathered, as if it came from the founding days of the collection, but offers perfect water resistance to the depth of 100 metres. On the gradient brown dial with a grainy surface, the designation “8 Giorni” references the power reserve of eight days from the hand-winding P.5000 Calibre. A dark brown calf leather strap, made by specialist workshop Cuoio Toscano, completes the look for this retrospective novelty.
For more technicity, Panerai proposes the Radiomir Annual Calendar watch in two versions. The PAM01363 in GoldtechTM features the annual calendar complication with two windows for the day of the week and the date. On the circumference of the blue sunbrushed dial, the names of the 12 months can be found on a rotating ring that turns in a counter clockwise direction in order to align the current month with the triangle at the 3 o’clock position. The calendar mechanism of the self-winding Calibre P.9010/AC is programmed to know the differing lengths of each month in such a way that manual intervention is required only once a year at the beginning of March.
The second version of this annual calendar watch is presented in a Platinumtech case with a burgundy sunbrushed dial. It is offered as an Experience Edition where the purchasers are entitled to participate in a most exclusive program of activities that, in the past, included a short military training with the Italian commandos, a glacier expedition with Mike Horn, and an exotic diving excursion with Guillaume Néry. For this Radiomir Annual Calendar PAM01432, the 24 watch owners will be invited to discover the secrets of Rome through a program that will explore historical sites, cultural elements and artisanal know-how. We are sure that, in true Panerai style, this too will be nothing short of extraordinary.
The last novelty that makes our list is simple, elegant and highly wearable with a long-sleeved shirt, a suit or even on a lady’s wrist. The Radiomir Quaranta GoldtechTM PAM01026 measures 40 mm in diameter, with “quaranta” being the Italian word for “forty”. It comes with the neutrality of the white sunbrushed dial, which goes well with either the supplied dark brown alligator strap, or the additional straps in a range of colours and finishes for subsequent purchases.
