Oris และ Trocadero Time ร่วมสนับสนุนอาสาสมัครผู้พิทักษ์พะยูนที่เกาะลิบงด้วยนาฬิกาลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่นรุ่นใหม่

จากจุดเริ่มต้นในปี ค.ศ. 2010 ที่ Oris เริ่มเป็นพันธมิตรกับสมาคมอนุรักษ์ทางทะเลแห่งออสเตรเลียที่ต้องการจะร่วมอนุรักษ์และปกป้องแนวปะการังเกรตแบร์ริเออร์รีฟจนเป็นที่มาของนาฬิกา Oris Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition ทางแบรนด์ก็ได้พิสูจน์ตนเองผ่านทางความพยายามอย่างต่อเนื่องในอีกหลายประเทศแล้วว่า Oris นั้นเป็นหนึ่งในตัวจริงเรื่องการสร้างความตระหนักในการช่วยอนุรักษ์ธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมผ่านนาฬิการุ่นลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่นต่างๆ ภายใต้แคมเปญ Change for the Better ของแบรนด์
หนึ่งในนาฬิกาที่น่าจดจำนั้นก็คือ Oris Cha-Lam Limited Edition เมื่อปี ค.ศ. 2016 ซึ่งนำเสนอเรื่องราวการอนุรักษ์ฉลามไทยด้วยการผลักดันของ Trocadero Time ตัวแทนจำหน่าย Oris ในประเทศไทย และเป็นนาฬิกาลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่นที่มีชื่อไทยรุ่นแรกของ Oris ด้วย
ในปีนี้ Oris และ Trocadero Time นำเสนอ Oris Payoon Limited Edition ที่มีจุดเริ่มต้นจากเรื่องราวของ “มาเรียม” ลูกพะยูนที่พลัดพรากจากแม่และเข้ามาเกยตื้นบริเวณชายฝั่งจังหวัดกระบี่ในเดือนเมษายนในปี ค.ศ. 2019 ชาวไทยและชาวโลกได้รับรู้ถึงเรื่องราวนี้ผ่านภาพถ่ายของ คุณชิน ศิรชัย อรุณรักษ์ติชัย นักอนุรักษ์ทางทะเลและช่างภาพสารคดีใต้น้ำชาวไทยดีกรีรางวัลระดับโลก หนึ่งในผู้ที่ได้มีโอกาสใกล้ชิดมาเรียมและมีบทบาทในการถ่ายทอดภาพน่ารักน่าประทับใจของมาเรียมและอาสาสมัครสู่สายตาชาวโลกในครั้งนั้น แต่ว่ามาเรียมก็เสียชีวิตในเวลาต่อมาแม้ว่าจะได้รับการช่วยเหลือจากทุกฝ่ายที่เกี่ยวข้องแล้วก็ตาม
Oris Payoon Limited Edition ตัวเรือนสเตนเลสสตีลขนาด 43.5 มม. หน้าปัดสีเขียวสดแบบเกรเดียนท์ที่ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจมากจากสีของน้ำทะเลบริเวณเกาะลิบง โดดเด่นด้วยวงแหวนขอบหน้าปัดหมุนทิศทางเดียวสีเทาดั่งผิวพะยูน เข็มนาฬิกาและขีดบอกเวลาเคลือบสารเรืองแสงซุปเปอร์ลูมิโนวา แซฟไฟร์คริสตอลเป็นทรงโค้งรูปโดมและมีการเคลือบสารป้องกันแสงสะท้อนด้านใน เม็ดมะยมนิรภัยเป็นแบบขันเกลียว กันน้ำได้ถึงระดับ 300 เมตร
นาฬิการุ่นนี้ทำงานด้วยเครื่องระบบขึ้นลานอัตโนมัติ Calibre 400 ซึ่งสำรองพลังงานได้ 120 ชั่วโมง ฝาหลังสลักรูปพะยูนสองตัว แม่และลูก อันเป็นสัญลักษณ์ที่สื่อถึงสัตว์ทะเลเลี้ยงลูกด้วยนมที่จำเป็นต้องได้รับการปกป้องในเวลานี้ด้วย พร้อมด้วยหมายเลขลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่น สวมใส่มั่นใจด้วยสายนาฬิกาสเตนเลสสตีลพร้อมระบบ Quick Strap Change เพื่อการเปลี่ยนสายได้โดยไม่ต้องใช้เครื่องมือใดๆ มีจำนวนจำกัดเพียง 250 เรือน แต่เข้าไทยเพียงแค่ 100 เรือนเท่านั้น
โดยการจัดจำหน่ายนาฬิกา Oris Payoon Limited Edition รุ่นนี้จะนำรายได้ส่วนหนึ่งไปช่วยสนับสนุนการทำงานของกลุ่มผู้พิทักษ์ดุหยงของเกาะลิบง เพื่อให้เหล่าอาสาสมัครสามารถเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการตรวจตราพื้นที่และช่วยเหลือสัตว์ทะเลหายาก ตลอดจนติดตามดูแลแหล่งหญ้าทะเลซึ่งเป็นแหล่งอาหารสำคัญของพะยูนในบริเวณเกาะลิบงด้วย

Oris has been working actively to protect the nature since 2010 when they became a partner with the Australian Marine Conservation Society which led to the development of the Oris Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition watch. That was followed by several other special timepieces dedicated to the protection of marine resources in other countries of the world. Clearly, Oris has established itself as a brand committed to environmental efforts under their Change for the Better campaign.
Our dear readers may recall the Oris Cha-Lam Limited Edition from 2016. Developed on the creative concept of Oris retailer Trocadero Time, the watch centered around the conservation of sharks in Thailand – it was also the first Oris limited edition watch to have been given a Thai name.
For this year, Oris and Trocadero Time are proud to present the Oris Payoon Limited Edition watch where “payoon” is the Thai word for “dugong”. This novelty is inspired by the incident of baby dugong famously named Marium who was separated from her mother and beached in a bay of Krabi back in April 2019. The young mammal made global news through photographs taken by award-winning Thai marine biologist and photojournalist Shin Sirachai Arunrugstichai who went down there to document the rescue efforts, the cute antics of the baby dugong and the hard work of all volunteers. Sadly for everyone who followed the news, Marium passed away despite the help she received from all concerned parties.
Oris Payoon Limited Edition is presented in a 43.5 mm stainless steel case. Its bright green gradient dial, inspired by the color of the seawater around Libong Island, is surrounded by a unidirectional rotating bezel in the same gray shade as the skin of a dugong. Under direct sunlight, legibility is preserved by the application of anti-reflective treatment on the underside of the domed sapphire crystal. In the dark, SuperLuminova provides the necessary luminousity on the hands and markers. The watch is water resistant to the depth of 300 meters, thanks to the use of a screw-down crown.
At the heart of this watch is the self-winding Calibre 400 with 120 hours of power reserve. This sits behind a caseback with an engraving of a mother and a baby dugong, as well as the limited edition number. It is worn on a stainless steel bracelet with the Quick Strap Change system that allows for an easy switch to the strap without the use of a tool. A total of 250 units will be produced of this watch and only 100 pieces are reserved for the Thai market.
Parts of the proceeds from the sales of Oris Payoon Limited Edition watch will go to support the dugong conservation association of Libong Island. With increased funding, it is hoped that the volunteers will be able to increase their patrols, render any needed help to marine animals in distress, and, monitor the abundance of seagrass around the island for the dugongs to feed on.
