Bell & Ross ก่อตั้งที่ปารีสเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1994 และประสบความสำเร็จในด้านการออกแบบและการดำเนินธุรกิจอย่างรวดเร็ว ผลิตภัณฑ์สร้างชื่อของ Bell & ross ก็คือ BR 01 ที่เปิดตัวเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 2005 โดยเป็นนาฬิกาตัวเรือนสี่เหลี่ยมจัตุรัสขนาด 46 มม. ที่มีหน้าปัดทรงกลมและสกรูว์ 4 ตัวตามหัวมุมซึ่งออกแบบตามรูปลักษณ์ของนาฬิกาและอุปกรณ์ที่ติดตั้งในแผงควบคุมของค็อกพิทเครื่องบิน แล้วในปี ค.ศ. 2006 ก็มี BR 03 ที่มีดีไซน์เหมือนกันแต่ว่าลดขนาดเหลือ 42 มม. ตามออกมา จากนั้นทั้ง BR 01 และ BR 03 ก็กลายเป็นนาฬิการะดับไอค่อนของวงการที่ใครๆ ก็รู้จักในเวลาเพียงแค่ไม่กี่ปี
สำหรับ BR 03 นั้นเคยได้รับการรีเฟรชก่อนหน้านี้เพียงแค่ครั้งเดียวในปี ค.ศ. 2014 และเมื่อ Bell & Ross เผยโฉม BR 03 คอลเลคชั่นใหม่ในปีนี้ หลายคนก็ถามกันว่ามีอะไรแตกต่างจากรุ่นเดิมบ้างเพราะมองแทบไม่ออก เราเองก็ถึงขั้นต้องเอารุ่นเก่าและรุ่นใหม่มาถือข้างกันจึงมั่นใจว่าจะไม่เขียนอะไรผิด ความเปลี่ยนแปลงแรกคือการลดขนาดตัวเรือนจาก 42 มม. เหลือ 41 มม. เข็มชั่วโมงและเข็มนาทีเพรียวบางลงเล็กน้อยตามสัดส่วน แถบที่ทำมุมเอียงลาดบนขอบตัวเรือนดูกว้างกว่ารุ่นเก่าเล็กน้อย ขาตัวเรือนผอมลงเล็กน้อยแบบไม่บอกไม่รู้คือลดลงจาก 4.5 มม. เหลือ 4 มม. ในขณะที่ความกว้างของสายบริเวณที่ติดกับขาตัวเรือนยังคงเป็น 24 มม. เหมือนเดิม หากใครเคยลอง BR 03 เดิมแล้วรู้สึกว่าใหญ่เกินไปเล็กน้อย เราคิดว่า BR 03 ใหม่นี้อาจจะลงตัวพอดีสำหรับคุณแล้วในที่สุดก็ได้

Bell & Ross เปิดตัวนาฬิกา BR 03 ใหม่จำนวนทั้งหมด 8 รุ่นด้วยกัน ประกอบด้วยรุ่นตัวเรือนสเตนเลสสตีลจำนวน 4 รุ่นและรุ่นตัวเรือนเซรามิกสีดำจำนวน 4 รุ่น ทั้งหมดมีสีหน้าปัดและตัวเลขแตกต่างกัน บ้างก็ดูแฟชั่น บ้างก็ดูเป็นทหาร ตัวเรือนของทุกรุ่นมีขนาดกว้างและยาว 41 มม. แต่ว่าความหนาจะแตกต่างกันเล็กน้อย โดยรุ่นที่เป็นตัวเรือนสเตนเลสสตีลนั้นจะหนา 9.65 มม. ในขณะที่รุ่นที่เป็นตัวเรือนเซรามิกสีดำจะหนา 10.60 มม. และกันน้ำถึงระดับความลึก 100 เมตรเหมือนกันทั้งหมด จากรูปต่างๆ ในบทความนี้จะเห็นว่าบางรุ่นมาพร้อมกับสายหนังลูกวัวและบางรุ่นมาพร้อมกับสายยางในสีที่แมทช์กับหน้าปัด แต่สิ่งที่ภาพทั้งหมดนี้ไม่ได้โชว์ก็คือสายผ้าสีดำซึ่งมาพร้อมกับนาฬิกาทุกรุ่นเอาไว้ให้คุณสับเปลี่ยนใช้งานเมื่อต้องการ ลองไปดู BR 03 ใหม่ทั้งหมดนี้ที่ตัวแทนจำหน่ายแล้วบอกเราด้วยนะครับว่าคุณชอบสีใดที่สุด

Few modern watch companies have met with design and commercial success as profound and quick as Bell & Ross. Founded in 1994, the Paris-headquartered brand launched their definitive product in the BR 01 in 2005. The 46 mm watch took the inspiration from cockpit clocks and instruments, complete with a circular dial within a square case and four screws on each corner. Its smaller brother, codenamed BR 03, was introduced the following year at 42 mm size but with the same aesthetics. Together, the two lines have established themselves as an unmistakable timepiece and an unquestionable icon within just a few short years.
Where the BR 03 is concerned, the collection has not received a full update since 2014. And when Bell & Ross presents the refreshed BR 03 collection this year, one would be hard-pressed to tell the difference because the changes are so subtle. We had to hold the outgoing version next to the new one before we are confident enough to say much of anything. As stated at the beginning, the case size reduced from 42 mm to 41 mm. The hour and minute hands are ever so slightly slenderer and more refined. The fixed bezel seems to have a more pronounced slant as well. Meanwhile, the lugs’ size is imperceptibly smaller at 4 mm now, instead of 4.5 mm, while the lug width remains the same 24 mm as before. If you have tried and felt the previous version BR 03 to be a tad too large for your wrist, this 2023 version may provide the perfect fit you were hoping for.
The most dramatic improvement for the new BR 03 is not visible and needs to be spelled out here for your benefit: the upgraded self-winding BR-CAL.302 movement now comes with 54 hours of power reserve instead of 38 hours! While the new number is not revolutionary by any standard, it is more than enough for practical needs and does not leave anyone wanting like with the previous generation BR 03. The slight increase in price can thus be overlooked on this account alone.
Four versions in stainless steel and four more in black ceramic are introduced initially. They are presented in various colorways that range from sartorial to tactical. While all measure 41 x 41 mm, case thickness is slightly different with the stainless steel case coming in at 9.65 mm and the black ceramic case at 10.60 mm. All of these eight standard models are equally water resistant to the depth of 100 meters. They are shown here with either a calfskin or a rubber strap in the appropriate shade to the dial, but they do come with a secondary black canvas fabric strap that you can put on when the mission requires exposure to harsh elements.
