Founded in 1775, Breguet emerged during an era when pocket watches were becoming popular among aristocrats and the wealthy elite. One of their most notable clients was Queen Caroline Murat of Naples, sister to Emperor Napoleon. After acquiring several clocks and pocket watches from the manufacture, she commissioned Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1810 to create a watch that could be worn on the wrist. The result was the world’s first wristwatch, completed in 1812. In 2002, Breguet revisited this historic design, giving rise to the Reine de Naples collection as we know it today.
