A. Lange & Söhne เป็นตำนานอันทรงคุณค่าของอุตสาหกรรมนาฬิกาเยอรมัน แบรนด์นาฬิกาเก่าแก่แบรนด์นี้ก่อตั้งเป็นครั้งแรกเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1845 โดยเฟอร์ดินานด์ อดอล์ฟ ลังเง่อ และดำเนินกิจการอย่างราบรื่นได้เป็นเวลา 100 ปีจนกระทั่งสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 นำความยุ่งเหยิงมาสู่ภูมิภาคนั้น แล้วชื่อ A. Lange & Söhne ก็ต้องยุติไปในปี ค.ศ 1948 เมื่อเมืองกลาสฮุตเตอร์กลายเป็นเยอรมนีตะวันออกและธุรกิจต่างๆ ถูกรัฐบาลใหม่ยึดไปแปรรูปเป็นรัฐวิสาหกิจ จนกระทั่งปี ค.ศ. 1990 เมื่อประเทศเยอรมนีรวมชาติได้อีกครั้ง วอลเตอร์ ลังเง่อผู้เป็นทายาทจึงสามารถกอบกู้ชื่อธุรกิจของคุณปู่ทวดเฟอร์ดินานด์ อดอล์ฟ ลังเง่อได้เป็นผลสำเร็จ แม้ในเวลานั้นจะไม่มีพนักงานหรือเครื่องจักรอะไรเลยก็ตาม คุณวอลเตอร์ใช้เวลาร่วม 4 ปีในการพัฒนานาฬิกาชุดแรกจำนวน 4 รุ่นที่นำมาเปิดตัวให้สาธารณชนได้ชื่นชมในที่สุดในปี ค.ศ. 1994
ด้วยความที่ A. Lange & Söhne มีปรัชญาในการพัฒนาอย่างไม่หยุดนิ่งตามคำขวัญ “Never Stand Still” เราจึงได้เห็นนาฬิกาโครโนกราฟแห่งยุคสมัยปัจจุบันรุ่นแรกของ A. Lange & Söhne ในปี ค.ศ. 1999 หรือเพียง 5 ปีหลังจากการนำเสนอนาฬิกาชุดแรกหลังกลับมาดำเนินกิจการใหม่ นาฬิการุ่นดังกล่าวมีชื่อว่า Datograph และเป็นนาฬิกาโครโนกราฟแบบไขลานที่มีกลไกคอลัมน์วีลซึ่งสามารถจับเวลาได้นาน 30 นาที มีวงทดนาทีแบบจั๊มปิ้งมินิทเพื่อความชัดเจนในการอ่านค่า และยังมีฟังก์ชั่นฟลายแบ็คเพื่อการรีเซ็ทเข็มและเริ่มจับเวลาครั้งใหม่ด้วยการกดปุ่มเพียงปุ่มเดียวเท่านั้น ทั้งนี้ คำว่า “dato” ในชื่อ Datograph นั้นมีที่มาจากการที่นาฬิการุ่นดังกล่าวมีหน้าต่างวันที่ขนาดใหญ่อยู่ที่ตำแหน่ง 12 นาฬิกาจนเป็นเอกลักษณ์ที่ไม่ทุกคนจดจำในวงการ
และเนื่องในโอกาสครบรอบ 25 ปีของคอลเลคชั่น Datograph ทาง A. Lange & Söhne จึงมีการเปิดตัวนาฬิการุ่นสำคัญจำนวน 2 รุ่น ได้แก่ Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon Honeygold “Lumen” และ Datograph Up/Down เวอร์ชั่นไวท์โกลด์หน้าปัดสีน้ำเงิน ซึ่งผลิตภัณฑ์ใหม่จาก Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024 ดังกล่าวและนาฬิกาโครโนกราฟรุ่นพิเศษอื่นๆ อย่างเช่น Tourbograph Perpetual “Pour le Mérite” และ 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar จะถูกนำมาจัดแสดงในนิทรรศการพิเศษที่ว่าด้วยเรื่องของความเชี่ยวชาญด้านการประดิษฐ์นาฬิกาโครโนกราฟของ A. Lange & Söhne โดยเฉพาะ
นิทรรศการ Precision in Motion นี้จะมีขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 12-16 มิถุนายนศกนี้ที่ Hall of Mirrors ชั้น M ศูนย์การค้า Siam Paragon และจะเปิดให้เข้าชมช่วงเวลา 11.00-20.00 น. คุณวิลเฮล์ม ชมิด ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารของ A. A. Lange & Söhne is a phoenix of the German watch industry. Originally founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange, the company known for precision watchmaking and technical excellence prospered for 100 years until World War II brought calamity to the region. The name ceased to exist in 1948 when Glashütte became a part of East Germany and private businesses were expropriated by the new administration. It was not until the reunification of Germany in 1990 that Walter Lange, the great grandson of Ferdinand Adolph, was able to resurrect the name of his family’s business, but without employees or machinery. He spent considerable time on the development of the first four watches which he finally unveiled to the world in 1994.
True to the “Never Stand Still” motto of the brand, A. Lange & Söhne has successfully developed their first contemporary chronograph watch only five years after in 1999. Aptly named the Datograph, the timepiece is a classic, hand-winding column wheel chronograph capable of measuring an event lasting up to 30 minutes with a jumping minute counter for precise reading. Its flyback function allows the chronograph to be swiftly reset and restarted with one push of a button. The Datograph was made forever distinctive with the incorporation of the outsize date feature at the 12 o’clock position, hence, the “dato” part of its name.
This year, the 25th anniversary of the Datograph family is celebrated with the Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon Honeygold “Lumen” model and the white gold Datograph Up/Down with a blue dial. These latest novelties from Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024 will be displayed alongside other notable creations such as the Tourbograph Perpetual “Pour le Mérite” and the 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar in a special exhibition designed to showcase the chronograph mastery of A. Lange & Söhne.
