US Open จบไปแล้วแต่สิ่งหนึ่งที่หลายคนอาจไม่ทันสังเกตก็คือว่านักเทนนิสที่เข้ารอบชิงทั้งสองคนนั้นต่างก็เป็นเทสติโมนีของ Rolex ทั้งคู่เลย โดยผู้ที่คว้าชัยในรายการนี้ได้ด้วยคะแนน 6-3, 6-4 และ 7-5 ก็คือยานนิค ซินเนอร์ วัย 23 ปีจากอิตาลี โดยใช้เวลาขับเคี่ยวกับเทย์เลอร์ ฟริทซ์รวม 2 ชั่วโมง 17 นาที ทั้งนี้ ซินเนอร์เป็นเทสติโมนีของ Rolex มานาน 4 ปีแล้ว และนาฬิกาที่ปรากฏบนข้อมือเขาในภาพขณะรับถ้วยรางวัลนี้ก็คือ Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II รุ่นเอเวอร์โรสโรเลซอร์ วงแหวนขอบตัวเรือนสีดำและน้ำตาล
GMT-Master II เป็นนาฬิกาที่ได้รับการพัฒนาขึ้นเพื่อนักเดินทางโดยเฉพาะ ในช่วงเริ่มแรกนั้นกลุ่มผู้ใช้หลักจะเป็นนักบินและลูกเรือของสายการบินพาณิชย์ที่ต้องบินข้ามมหาสมุทรเป็นประจำ นาฬิการุ่นนี้มีเข็มแบบ 24 ชั่วโมงเพิ่มเติมเข้ามาอีกเข็มหนึ่งให้เจ้าของนาฬิกาใช้ดูเวลาที่ประเทศของตนได้ขณะที่ตนเองเดินทางอยู่ในต่างประเทศ อย่างเช่นซินเนอร์นั้นก็อาจจะตั้งเข็ม 24 ชั่วโมงดังกล่าวไว้เป็นเวลาของประเทศอิตาลี แล้วเมื่อเดินทางไปแข่งที่สหรัฐอเมริกาหรือออสเตรเลียก็ใช้เม็ดมะยมหมุนเข็ม 12 ชั่วโมงให้ตรงกับเวลาท้องถิ่น เพียงเท่านี้เขาก็จะสามารถดูเวลาในทั้งสองประเทศได้พร้อมกัน โดยดูเวลาท้องถิ่นจากเข็ม 12 ชั่วโมงคู่กับหลักชั่วโมงปกติบนหน้าปัด และดูเวลาที่บ้านจากเข็ม 24 ชั่วโมงคู่กับสเกล 24 ชั่วโมงบนวงแหวนขอบตัวเรือนที่อยู่ด้านนอก

The US Open has come to an end, but one detail that might have slipped past many is that both finalists were Rolex testimonees. The tournament winner, Jannik Sinner, a 23-year-old from Italy, secured his victory with scores of 6-3, 6-4, and 7-5 after a 2-hour and 17-minute battle against Taylor Fritz. Sinner has been a Rolex ambassador for four years, and the watch he wore while receiving his trophy was the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II in Everose Rolesor, featuring a black and brown bezel insert.
The GMT-Master II was designed specifically for travellers, and its original users were primarily commercial airline pilots and crew who frequently flew across continents. The watch features an additional 24-hour hand, enabling the wearer to track the time in their home country while abroad. For example, Sinner could set the 24-hour hand to Italian time. And when travelling for tournaments in the US or Australia, he would simply adjust the 12-hour hand to the local time using the crown. This allows him to view both local and home time simultaneously. The local time would be displayed by the 12-hour hand that is read against regular hour markers on the dial. To see home time, he would read the 24-hour hand against the 24-hour scale on the bezel insert.
Today, Rolex offers several versions of the GMT-Master II, including Oystersteel models, Rolesor models combining Oystersteel with gold (like Sinner’s), and all-gold models.
