ชื่อเสียงของ Jaeger-LeCoultre ในฐานะแบรนด์นาฬิกาที่มีศักยภาพนั้นเกิดจากการสั่งสมผลงานมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง ทั้งที่เป็นนาฬิกาแนวเทคนิคซับซ้อนและนาฬิกาแนวงานศิลปะที่ต้องใช้ความละเอียดละออ หรือบ้างก็มีทั้งสองคุณลักษณะนี้ในเรือนเดียวกัน หลังจากที่เปิดตัว Master Grande Tradition Répétition Minutes Perpétuelle เป็นดาวเด่นของปีนี้ไปแล้วที่งาน SIHH 2019 ที่เจนีวา ในเช้าวันนี้ตามเวลาท้องถิ่นของสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ Jaeger-LeCoultre ยังได้เผยโฉมนาฬิกาอีกรุ่นหนึ่งในชื่อ Master Grande Tradition Répétition Minutes Perpétuelle ซึ่งมีจุดเด่นอยู่ที่ระบบการตีเสียงบอกเวลาที่ได้รับการพัฒนาขึ้นใหม่ให้ทั้งหนักแน่นและชัดใสยิ่งกว่าเดิม

Known as the grande maison of Le Sentier, Jaeger-LeCoultre has repeatedly delivered timepieces that make history with their technical excellence, artistic elegance, or both. After having unveiled the Master Grande Tradition Répétition Minutes Perpétuelle as the star of the year at SIHH 2019 in Geneva, the manufacture follows up today with yet another major development: the Master Grande Tradition Répétition Minutes Perpétuelle with an innovative gong system designed to produce optimised chime volume and acoustic quality.
A chiming watch calibre use two sets of a gong and a hammer to produce the lower pitch (bass notes) and the higher pitch (treble notes). In a typical design, the gongs would appear like overlapping flat coils at the base of the movement. However, on this watch, the new gong design is of a very unusual shape by rising upwards from the base to the top then wraps around the dial almost to a complete circle. By taking advantage of internal height and space, when struck by the hammers, the acoustic achieved is better in that the bass notes are fuller and the treble notes are clearer. On top of that technical feat, Master Grande Tradition Répétition Minutes Perpétuelle features a perpetual calendar moon phase at nine o’clock and the year in four digits just below.
The watch’s Calibre 950 is a self-winding movement with rotor hidden to showcase the splendour of the minute repeater mechanisms on the back. It joins the exclusive family of over 200 chiming movements in the historical and modern days of Jaeger-LeCoultre – quite likely the only manufacture in the world to be able to make such a proud claim.
Thoughtful touches continue on the 43 mm white gold case, comprising 80 hand-finished parts which are polished, satin-brushed or sandblasted to give the watch its visual nuance under different lighting circumstances. Finally, it must be noted that the dial is a guilloche one with translucent blue enamel on top. This is produced by hand in the manufacture’s Atelier des Métiers Rares, same as pieces with this same dial technique introduced at SIHH 2019.
Only 30 units of the Master Grande Tradition Répétition Minutes Perpétuelle will be produced in this configuration.
