เรือนเวลาทรงกำไลซ่อนรูปที่ถ้าใครไม่รู้ก็จะนึกว่าเป็นจิวเวลรี่

เราจะเรียกว่า Chanel Mademoiselle Privé Bouton เป็นนาฬิกาหรือเป็นเครื่องประดับดี เพราะว่านี่คือคอลเลคชั่นของซีเครทวอทช์ที่หากใครไม่รู้ก็จะนึกว่าเป็นกำไลเนื่องจากหน้าปัดนั้นถูกซ่อนอยู่ใต้รูปทรงกระดุมขนาดใหญ่ เรื่องราวของซีเครทวอทช์เริ่มต้นขึ้นตั้งแต่ยุคสมัยโบราณเพราะว่าเสื้อผ้าของผู้หญิงในสมัยนั้นก็ไม่เอื้ออำนวยต่อการพกนาฬิกาพก ยิ่งเมื่อประกอบกับธรรมเนียมทางสังคมที่มองว่าการดูเวลานั้นเป็นเรื่องไม่สุภาพ คนในสมัยก่อนจึงคิดหาวิธีบรรจุนาฬิกาขนาดเล็กไว้ในเครื่องประดับของคุณผู้หญิงเสียเลย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นจี้ห้อยคอ เข็มกลัดติดเสื้อ กำไลหรือแม้แต่แหวนเพื่อให้ผู้สวมใส่แอบดูเวลาได้โดยที่คนไม่สังเกต
ครั้นเมื่อมาถึงยุคสมัยปัจจุบัน ซีเครทวอทช์ที่บางแบรนด์มีผลิตบ้างนั้นก็มีรูปลักษณ์เอียงไปทางจิวเวลรี่เสียจนดูไม่เหมาะกับการสวมใส่ในช่วงเวลากลางวันและในโอกาสที่ไม่เป็นทางการมากนัก จนกระทั่ง Chanel เปิดตัวคอลเลคชั่น Mademoiselle Privé Bouton ใหม่ในปีนี้ ประกอบด้วยนาฬิกาทั้งหมด 7 รุ่นและในจำนวนนี้มีเพียง 2 รุ่นเท่านั้นที่จัดเป็นไฮจิวเวลรี่
เราอยากให้คุณได้เห็น Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Perle เป็นเรือนแรกเพราะนาฬิการุ่นนี้เป็นเหมือนรากฐานที่สำคัญที่สุดของคอลเลคชั่นนี้ ตัวเรือนนาฬิกามีลักษณะเป็นแถบผ้าทวีดสีดำกว้าง 3.5 ซม. ตัดขอบด้วยหนังลูกวัวสีทองและรองพื้นด้านในด้วยหนังลูกวัวสีดำ เมื่อนำมาพันรอบแขนแล้วจึงล็อคให้อยู่กับข้อมือด้วยกระดุมขนาดใหญ่ที่ประดับไข่มุกเลี้ยงจากออสเตรเลียครึ่งเม็ด กระดุมไข่มุกนี้นี่เองที่ซ่อนหน้าปัดไวท์โกลด์อยู่ข้างใต้ เมื่อเปิดขึ้นมาแล้วจะเห็นเข็มชั่วโมงและเข็มนาทีที่บอกเวลาอย่างเที่ยงตรงเหนือเพชรทรงบริลเลียนท์คัทจำนวน 142 เม็ด
ใครที่เป็นแฟนของแบรนด์ Chanel อยู่แล้วจะทราบดีว่ากระดุมนั้นเป็นหนึ่งในองค์ประกอบของการออกแบบที่สำคัญของชุดสูท Chanel เพราะว่าคุณกาเบรียล ชาเนลนั้นได้รับแรงบันดาลใจมาจากชุดเครื่องแบบของทหารและกะลาสีเรือ แล้วจึงออกแบบกระดุมบนชุดสูทของเธอให้มีดีไซน์ต่างๆ กัน ในครั้งนี้ นักออกแบบในยุคปัจจุบันของ Chanel จึงเลือกนำเอาสัญลักษณ์สำคัญต่างๆ ของแบรนด์มารังสรรค์เป็นกระดุมบนนาฬิการุ่นลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่นจำนวน 4 รุ่น แต่ละรุ่นใช้เทคนิคงานศิลป์ที่ต่างกัน ได้แก่ กระดุมทองแกะสลักเป็นรูปหัวสิงโตของนาฬิการุ่น Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Lion (55 เรือน) กระดุมรูปดอกคามีเลียที่ประดิษฐ์ด้วยเพชรของนาฬิการุ่น Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Camelia (55 เรือน) กระดุมสัญลักษณ์ไบแซนไทน์ที่ประดิษฐ์ด้วยเพชรของนาฬิการุ่น Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Byzantine (5 เรือน) และกระดุมหินอาเกทแกะสลักเป็นรูปเหมือนกาเบรียล ชาเนลของนาฬิการุ่น Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Camée (5 เรือน)
อย่างที่กล่าวข้างต้นว่าคอลเลคชั่นนี้มีผลิตภัณฑ์ระดับไฮจิวเวลรี่สองเรือน ความแตกต่างประการแรกของตัวเรือนที่เปลี่ยนจากผ้าทวีดเป็นกำไลไวท์โกลด์ขนาดกว้าง 3.5 เซนติเมตรเท่ากัน รุ่นแรกคือ Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Ganse de Diamant (5 เรือน) ซึ่งได้รับการเคลือบสีดำทั้งเรือน มีกระดุมไข่มุกเลี้ยงออสเตรเลียครึ่งเม็ดและมีการประดับเพชรทรงบริลเลียนท์คัทจำนวน 316 เม็ดบนขอบเยลโลว์โกลด์ รวมน้ำหนักเพชรที่ใช้ตามจุดต่างๆ ทั้งหมดได้ประมาณ 4.87 กะรัต
สำหรับเรือนที่ถือเป็นที่สุดของที่สุดก็คือ Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Serti Neige ซึ่งผลิตเพียงเรือนเดียวในโลกเท่านั้น นาฬิการุ่นนี้โดดเด่นด้วยการประดับเพชรทรงบริลเลียนท์คัทจำนวน 1,963 ในรูปแบบสโนว์เซ็ทติ้งเม็ดบนกำไล และแน่นอนว่าต้องมีอีก 316 เม็ดบนขอบเยลโลว์โกลด์ด้วย รูปสัญลักษณ์ไบแซนไทน์บนกระดุมก็เกิดจากการประดับเพชรทรงคุชชั่นคัทและแพร์คัทด้วยเช่นกัน รวมน้ำหนักเพชรทั้งเรือนได้สูงถึง 45.10 กะรัตทีเดียว

It is hard to place the Chanel Mademoiselle Privé Bouton in just one product category as it comprises cuff-styled secret watches which, to untrained eyes, look like a piece of jewellery. Secret watches are a creation of great historical significance that can be traced back to the age when it was considered impolite to check the time. Additionally, as women’s attires did not allow for easy carrying of pocket watches, something had to be done to incorporate a very small and discreet time-telling capability into everyday jewellery like pendants, brooches, bracelets or even rings.
In the modern days, few watch brands offer the choices of secret watches, and most of them are too embellished to be worn in less formal or daytime settings. Enters Chanel with their brand new Mademoiselle Privé Bouton for 2020: a collection of seven watches, two of them high jewellery pieces.
Let’s take a closer look at the Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Perle – the main staple of the collection. A 3.5 centimetres wide black tweed cuff with golden calfskin trim and black calfskin lining forms the foundation of the watch. Once wrapped around the wrist, the watch is secured by way of a large button whose half white Australian cultured pearl opens to reveal a white gold dial where the hour and the minute hands indicate the time against the backdrop of 142 brilliant-cut diamonds.
Followers of Chanel readily appreciate that there is more to the button as it is a celebrated element on Chanel suits. Originally, Gabrielle Chanel took the inspiration from military clothing and sailors’ uniforms and integrated it into her suits with a wide variety of ornamental designs. As a tribute to that practice and a way to showcase craftsmanship, the maison’s designers have decided to execute emblematic symbols on the button of four limited edition watch models like a carved gold lion on the Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Lion (55 pieces), a camellia of diamonds on the Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Camelia (55 pieces), a Byzantine motif of diamonds on the Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Byzantine (five pieces) and a likeness of Gabrielle Chanel herself in agate on the Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Camée (five pieces).
The collection is made complete by two high jewellery watches. Here, the 3.5 centimetres wide cuffs are rigid as they are made of white gold. The 5-piece edition of Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Ganse de Diamant has a black coating all over, a button of half white Australian cultured pearl and 316 brilliant-cut diamonds on the yellow gold ganse. The total weight of diamonds used on all components of this watch is approximately 4.87 carats.
At the pinnacle of this line-up is the unique piece of Mademoiselle Privé Bouton Serti Neige which fascinates with a snow setting of 1,963 brilliant-cut diamonds on the cuff and, of course, 316 more on the yellow gold ganse. Its Byzantine motif button is formed with a combination of cushion-cut and pear-cut diamonds. Total carat count is a whopping 45.10 carats.
