CHANEL แต่งแต้มสีสันของวัฒนธรรมเพลงอิเล็กโทรแห่งยุค 90 ให้กับนาฬิกาหลากรุ่นในแคปซูลคอลเลคชั่นที่มีชื่อว่า CHANEL ELECTRO

วงการนาฬิกาของเรามีศัพท์ต่างๆ ที่คนนอกไม่รู้ความหมายมากมาย อย่างเช่นคำว่า “คอมพลิเคชั่น” นั้น หากนำไปใช้ข้างนอกคนก็จะเข้าใจผิดเรื่อง ในทางกลับกัน คนเล่นนาฬิกาอย่างเราก็ไม่ได้คุ้นเคยกับศัพท์ที่ใช้ในวงการอื่นไปเสียหมด อย่างเช่นคำว่า “แคปซูล” หรือวลี “แคปซูลคอลเลคชั่น” ของฟากแฟชั่นนั้นก็เชื่อว่าเป็นคำที่เราเห็นผ่านหูผ่านตา แต่ไม่ได้พิจารณาในรายละเอียดถึงความหมายที่แท้จริง
สาเหตุที่เราต้องพูดถึงคำว่าแคปซูลเป็นพิเศษก็เพราะว่าผลิตภัณฑ์นาฬิการุ่นใหม่ในปีนี้ของ CHANEL เป็นแคปซูลคอลเลคชั่นนั่นเอง กล่าวคือ เป็นคอลเลคชั่นที่มีดีไซน์พิเศษ ไม่ผูกอยู่กับฤดูกาลใด และมีผลิตเป็นจำนวนจำกัดในลักษณะลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่น เหมือนอย่างแคปซูลคอลเลคชั่นที่มีชื่อว่า CHANEL ELECTRO ในครั้งนี้ที่มีแรงบันดาลใจมาจากสีสันที่จัดจ้านและลวดลายสไตล์กราฟฟิกของวัฒนธรรมเพลงอิเล็กโทรแห่งยุค 90 ตลอดจนบรรยากาศแห่งสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวยามค่ำคืนที่ผู้คนจะได้เพลิดเพลินไปกับท่องทำนองอันมีเอกลักษณ์ดังกล่าว
การออกแบบแคปซูลคอลเลคชั่น CHANEL ELECTRO ในครั้งนี้ไม่ใช่เรื่องง่ายเลยหากเราจะมองว่านาฬิกา CHANEL แต่เดิมนั้นอยู่ในโทนสีดำและขาวแบบโมโนโครมเสียเป็นส่วนมาก แต่ผลงานที่ออกมาในปีนี้ทุกรุ่นก็สามารถนำเสนอสีสันอันทรงพลังที่ว่าได้โดยไม่สูญเสียตัวตนแห่งความเป็น CHANEL ไปแม้แต่น้อย
เริ่มต้นที่เรือนเวลาจากหน้าปก WOW Thailand ฉบับมิถุนายนของเรา นั่นก็คือ J12 Electro Dream ขนาด 38 มม. รุ่นตัวเรือนและสายเซรามิกสีดำ (รหัส H6828) และรุ่นตัวเรือนและสายเซรามิกสีขาว (รหัส H6826) ซึ่งผลิตเป็นจำนวนจำกัดรุ่นละ 55 เรือนเท่านั้น นาฬิกา J12 Electro Dream จะสะกดสายตาคุณและคนรอบข้างด้วยการประดับแซฟไฟร์ทรงบาแก็ตจำนวน 46 เม็ดน้ำหนักประมาณ 6.47 กะรัตที่ไล่เรียงกันเป็นสีรุ้งอยู่บนขอบตัวเรือน และยังมีหลักชั่วโมงเป็นแซฟไฟร์ทรงบาแก็ตจำนวน 12 เม็ดในเฉดสีที่ตรงกับแซฟไฟร์บนขอบตัวเรือนประดับอยู่บนพื้นหน้าปัด
J12 เป็นนาฬิกาที่มีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งของ CHANEL เรือนเวลารุ่นนี้เปิดตัวเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 2000 โดยเป็นผลงานการออกแบบของฌาคส์ แอลเลอซึ่งเป็นผู้อำนวยการฝ่ายศิลป์ของ Chanel ในเวลานั้น เป้าหมายหลักของเขาก็คือการทำให้ J12 เป็นนาฬิกาสไตล์สปอร์ตสีดำที่สวมใส่ได้ในทุกโอกาสโดยผู้ชายและผู้หญิง
การปรับแต่งนาฬิกา J12 จะต้องทำด้วยความระมัดระวังเป็นพิเศษเพราะนี่คือหนึ่งในไอค่อนของวงการนาฬิกาที่ผู้คนจดจำจนติดตา แต่ CHANEL ก็สามารถออกแบบ J12 ได้อย่างสร้างสรรค์มาโดยตลอดเหมือนเช่นแคปซูลคอลเลคชั่นในครั้งนี้ เราจึงได้เห็นการใช้สีสันในนาฬิการุ่นอื่นๆ ของ CHANEL ELECTRO ไม่ว่าจะเป็น J12 Electro Box นาฬิกา J12 เซ็ทพิเศษจำนวน 12 เรือนที่มีตัวเรือนและสายเซรามิกสีดำล้วนคล้ายกับ J12 Electro Dream แต่ทุกเรือนจะมีแซฟไฟร์สีเดียวล้วนรอบขอบตัวเรือน พร้อมการพิมพ์ชื่อแบรนด์และชื่อรุ่นเป็นตัวอักษรสีเดียวกันกับแซฟไฟร์ดังกล่าว และแต้มสารเรืองแสงบนเข็มและขอบหน้าปัดเป็นสีเดียวกัน บรรจุในกล่องแลคเกอร์สีดำยาวที่แบ่งช่องให้กับนาฬิกาแต่ละสีโดยมีชื่อกำกับว่า Track 1 ถึง Track 12 ประหนึ่งว่าแต่ละสีนั้นเป็นบทเพลงแห่งช่วงเวลาของชีวิตที่ต่างกัน
สำหรับคนรักเพชรต้องเลือก J12 Electro Star (รหัส H6816) นาฬิกาตัวเรือนขนาด 38 มม. ที่เมื่อมองแบบหน้าตรงจะเห็นการประดับเพชรทรงบาแก็ตเต็มพื้นที่ของหน้าปัด ขอบตัวเรือน ขาตัวเรือนและสายนาฬิกา จำนวนเพชรรวมทั้งหมด 578 เม็ดหรือคิดเป็นน้ำหนัก 32.55 กะรัต แต่เมื่อมองมุมเฉียงเข้าก็จะเห็นการตกแต่งสันตัวเรือนและสันข้อสายนาฬิกาทั้งหมดด้วยแซฟไฟร์แบบไล่สีจนกลายเป็นวงสีรุ้งบนข้อมือได้อย่างแนบเนียน ไม่เพียงเท่านั้น โรเตอร์สีดำของเครื่องนาฬิกาแบบอินเฮ้าส์รุ่นคาลิเบอร์ 12.1 ที่ใช้ในนาฬิการุ่นนี้ก็มีการตกแต่งด้วยแซฟไฟร์ทรงบาแก็ตเป็นวงสีรุ้งด้วยเช่นกัน
และรุ่นที่เป็นความเหนือชั้นในเชิงเทคนิคและกลไกก็คือ J12 X-Ray Electro Caliber 3.1 ภาคต่อของนาฬิกา J12 X-Ray ที่ได้ขึ้นปก WOW Thailand เมื่อปีที่แล้ว ซึ่งในครั้งนี้ยังคงความน่าทึ่งด้วยการใช้แซฟไฟร์ในการผลิตตัวเรือน สายนาฬิกาและเพลทต่างๆ ของเครื่องนาฬิกาจนดูทะลุปรุโปร่งสมชื่อรุ่นเหมือนเดิม แต่รายละเอียดที่เปลี่ยนไปก็คือขอบตัวเรือนและหลักชั่วโมงซึ่งเดิมเป็นเพชรทรงบาแก็ตแบบขาวใสล้วนๆ ก็เปลี่ยนเป็นแซฟไฟร์แบบไล่สีรุ้งเหมือนอย่าง J12 Electro Dream เรือนที่ขึ้นปกฉบับนี้ของเรา ถือเป็นอีกบุคลิกหนึ่งที่น่าสนใจของ J12 X-Ray ทีเดียว และความพิเศษนี้จะมีการผลิตเป็นจำนวนจำกัดเพียง 12 เรือนเท่านั้นในโลก
นอกจากนาฬิกา J12 ซึ่งเป็นดาวเด่นในครั้งนี้ แคปซูลคอลเลคชั่น CHANEL ELECTRO ยังมีสมาชิกเป็นนาฬิการุ่นอื่นๆ ของ CHANEL อีก 3 รุ่น ได้แก่ Première Electro, Boy.Friend Electro และ Code Coco Electro ซึ่งแต่ละรุ่นนั้นก็มีวิธีการใช้สีสันสดใสแห่งความอิเล็กโทรนี้ในรูปแบบที่แตกต่างกัน
ขอเริ่มต้นที่ Première Electro ก่อนเพราะว่ามีความหลากหลายพอสมควร ได้แก่ รุ่นรหัส H6950 ซึ่งผลิตเป็นจำนวนจำกัด 555 เรือน ทำงานด้วยเครื่องควอตซ์แบบความเที่ยงตรงสูง แต่ละเรือนมีลักษณะเป็นสายโซ่สตีลทำสีดำและมีแผ่นหนังหลากสีร้อยผ่านจนเป็นสีรุ้งตามแบบฉบับของ CHANEL ELECTRO และมีแบบ Première Electro Box ที่มาเป็นเซ็ทเรือนละสี ทั้งหมด 7 เรือน 7 สีนีออนสำหรับ 7 วัน พร้อมชื่อกำกับจาก Track 1 ถึง Track 7 เหมือนกับรุ่น J12 Electro Box ข้างต้น
สำหรับคนรักสีชมพู คุณคงจะถูกใจ Code Coco Electro เป็นพิเศษ เพราะว่านาฬิการุ่นนี้มีสายหนังลายควิลท์สีชมพูนีออน เดินขอบสีดำวาว ช่วยขับให้ตัวเรือนนาฬิกาและตัวล็อคสายสตีลสีดำดูโดดเด่น บนหน้าปัดมีเข็มชั่วโมงและนาทีที่ขับเคลื่อนด้วยเครื่องนาฬิกาควอตซ์แบบความเที่ยงตรงสูง ด้านบนประดับเพชรทรงพรินเซสคัทหนึ่งเม็ดตามสูตรของ Code Coco แต่ในครั้งนี้จะมีเพียง 255 เรือนเท่านั้น
หรือรุ่นสุดท้าย สำหรับคนที่ต้องการสีสัน แต่ไม่ชอบแสดงออก CHANEL ก็ยังมี Boy.Friend Electro ตัวเรือนสเตนเลสสตีล นาฬิกาลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่นจำนวน 55 เรือนที่ใช้สีชมพูนีออนตกแต่งด้านในของสายหนังลูกวัวลายควิลท์ บนหน้าปัดมีการประดับเพชรทรงบริลเลียนท์คัทเป็นรูปหุ่นยนต์ในสไตล์กราฟฟิกให้ได้ฟีลแห่งความเรโทรเบาๆ แล้วล้อมด้วยเพชรทรงเดียวกันบนขอบตัวเรือนอีกรวมทั้งหมด 142 เม็ด
หากถามว่าแคปซูลคอลเลคชั่น CHANEL ELECTRO เหมาะกับใคร ผู้ซื้อกลุ่มแรกที่เรานึกถึงก็คือลูกค้านาฬิกา CHANEL แต่เดิมที่มีรุ่นสีโมโนโครมอยู่แล้วและอยากได้เรือนที่สองหรือสามที่มีความแตกต่างด้วยสีสันที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น และผู้ซื้อกลุ่มที่สองที่เรานึกถึงก็คือคนที่เคยเล็งนาฬิกา CHANEL รุ่นใดรุ่นหนึ่งอยู่แล้วแต่อยากได้องค์ประกอบแห่งความสดใสซึ่งสีรุ้งของแคปซูลคอลเลคชั่นนี้สามารถตอบโจทย์ในใจคุณได้อย่างแน่นอน

The capsule creations are inspired by the bold colours and graphic patterns of the electro music culture from the ‘90s.

When you think about it, the watch industry is rich with technical jargon that leaves outsiders baffled. Words like “complications” will have a totally different meaning to those who are not into mechanical watches, for example. Conversely, watch collectors are not completely informed about the terms used in other industries as well. Chances are that not all of us have a clear definition of “capsule” or “capsule collection”, which is used very frequently in the fashion world.
Capsule is a relevant topic here because CHANEL’s star watch novelties for this year are presented as a capsule collection. By definition, these specially designed timepieces exist outside of any seasonal boundaries, and are produced on a limited basis. This CHANEL ELECTRO capsule collection is inspired by the bold colours and graphic patterns of the electro music culture from the ‘90s, as seen at night time entertainment venues where people revelled in the characteristic rhythms of the genre.
CHANEL ELECTRO is not an easy capsule collection in terms of design. Looking back at past offerings, most CHANEL watches are monochromic in either black or white. This subtle integration of colours should thus be celebrated as a success of CHANEL in adding something new without diluting their identity.
Let us start with our cover watch from WOW Thailand June 2021 issue: the J12 Electro Dream. At 38 mm, the watch is produced in two versions of 55 units each in black ceramic (H6828) or white ceramic (H6826). The J12 Electro Dream dazzles all eyes, yours and those around you, with 6.47 carats’ worth of 46 baguette-cut sapphires in a rainbow gradation of colours on the bezel. Twelve more baguette-cut sapphires are used as hour markers, and they sparkle in the exact same hue as their aligned counterparts on the bezel.
J12 is a hugely important watch for CHANEL. Introduced at the turn of the millennium in 2000 as Chanel’s first sports watch for both men and women, the J12 was conceived by Jacques Helleu, Chanel’s Artistic Director at that time, with the intent to create a black sports watch that could be worn on all occasions. Any stylistic change or addition to the icon must be considered very thoroughly, but the maison does know how to be creative without being too restrained.
And so the other timepieces of CHANEL ELECTRO follow this same funky vibe. The J12 Electro Box, for example, packs a dozen J12 watches with a black ceramic case and bracelet like the J12 Electro Dream, but with a single colour sapphire around the bezel. Brand and model names on the dial are printed in the same colour as the sapphire each watch bears. The same goes for the luminous material applied on the hands and hour positions on the dial flange. Inside the long, black lacquered box, each watch socket is marked with a plate from “Track 1” to “Track 12”, as if representing the different tunes in one’s life.
If diamonds spark joy, the J12 Electro Star (H6816) is your soulmate. When looking at the 38 mm timepiece squarely in the face, it displays a full, gleaming pave of baguette-cut diamonds on the dial, bezel, lugs and bracelet. There are 578 diamonds altogether for a combined weight of 32.55 carats. When admired from an angle, the rainbow of sapphires reveals itself on the side of the case and the bracelet links. Furthermore, the circular opening of the black rotor on the in-house Calibre 12.1 used in this watch is decorated with baguette-cut sapphires in the full hues of the rainbow as well.
Finally, at the pinnacle of techniques and mechanics, the J12 X-Ray Electro Calibre 3.1 reflects a further improvement on the J12 X-Ray featured on a WOW Thailand cover last year. This new timepiece is just as striking as before with the use of sapphire for the production of the case, bracelet and various plates of the movement. The result is an unmatched transparency that befits the model name.
What differentiates the J12 X-Ray Electro Calibre 3.1 from the original J12 X-Ray is the replacement of clear, baguette-cut diamonds on the bezel with the gradation of rainbow sapphires, like on our current cover watch J12 Electro Dream. It certainly marks an interesting interpretation of the J12 X-Ray, and its production is limited to only 12 pieces worldwide.
But it is not all about the J12 for CHANEL ELECTRO. The capsule collection encompasses three more watch models: Première Electro, Boy.Friend Electro and Code Coco Electro, each with its own take on the electronic music culture.
Première Electro represents the most diverse ELECTRO offering outside of the J12 family. The H6950 high-precision quartz model, limited to 555 pieces, boasts a case and chain bracelet made of stainless steel with black ADLC treatment. The neo rainbow leather strap that runs through the chain graces the timepiece with the CHANEL ELECTRO essence. Meanwhile, the Première Electro Box offers a set of seven watches with seven neon colours for the seven days of the week. Each one is marked with “Track 1” to “Track 7” nameplates, same as the aforementioned J12 Electro Box.
If pink serves as your favourite colour, you are in for a treat because the Code Coco Electro watch is blazing with a neon pink quilted pattern calfskin leather strap whose black trim and black lining complement the black ADLC treated stainless steel case and clasp. When worn, the lower dial features two hands for the hour and the minute, and the upper dial is graced with a princess-cut diamond per the protocol of Code Coco. Only 255 pieces will be produced of this model.
The last model we are presenting, the Boy.Friend Electro limited edition of 55 units, is designed for those who wish to wear colour on the inside. The stainless steel watch is equipped with a quilted pattern calfskin strap lined in neon pink. Its dial is set with brilliant-cut diamonds in the retro motif of a robot. The total diamond count on the dial and bezel comes to 142.
CHANEL ELECTRO is ideal for current CHANEL customers who already own a monochromic CHANEL watch, and are eager to add a second or third piece that is more colourful to their collection. It should also be great for other enthusiasts who have been considering a CHANEL watch model but hoped to have that added element of liveliness. In either case, this capsule collection will do the trick just fine.
