แต่ถ้าคุณชอบใส่นาฬิกาหลายเรือนในแต่ละสัปดาห์ก็อาจเป็นไปได้ที่นาฬิกาของคุณเรือนใดเรือนหนึ่งจะลานหมดจนหยุดเดินเสียก่อนที่คุณจะหยิบขึ้นมาใส่ครั้งต่อไป หากเป็นเช่นนั้นก็ให้คุณขึ้นลานให้กับนาฬิกาด้วยการหมุนเม็ดมะยมสักเล็กน้อย เครื่องนาฬิกาจะได้มีกำลังเพียงพอที่จะทำงานได้อย่างเที่ยงตรง ครั้นเมื่อคุณตั้งเวลา (และวันที่ ถ้ามี) และสวมนาฬิกาบนข้อมือแล้ว โรเตอร์ Perpetual ก็จะทำหน้าที่ขึ้นลานให้กับเครื่องนาฬิกาต่อไปเองตามจังหวะการขยับข้อมือหรือแกว่งแขวนตามที่กล่าวข้างต้น

Rolex watches are built to last a lifetime, and all that is needed is to give your Rolex just the smallest bit of care.

All watches produced by Rolex are subject to a series of extensive testing which guarantees their chronometric performance to the level of +2/-2 seconds per day – more than twice that is required of an official chronometer’s tolerance of +6/-4 seconds per day. Furthermore, they are tested for winding efficiency, power reserve and waterproofness before being awarded the Green Seal for their Superlative Chronometer status. Nonetheless, basic watch care is necessary to ensure that your watch performs as well throughout your life as on the day you bought it.
First things first. A Rolex watch that is worn on a daily basis will require little looking after. If you wear your Rolex watch daily, there is no need to wind it manually or to use a watch winder at home. You simply have to wear it during the day in order for the Perpetual rotor to build up the necessary power reserve, and the movement will continue to function on its own for the specified number of hours which is typically two days or longer, depending on the model.
However, if you have not worn your Rolex for more than a couple of days, chances are the power reserve may have depleted and caused the watch to stop. When this happens, you are recommended to manually wind the watch by the crown to give the movement a measure of power it needs to keep time with precision. After setting the time (and the date, if applicable), and you have put the watch on your wrist, the Perpetual rotor will do the rest with the kinetic motion of your wrist and arm.
Do remember to screw down the crown until it cannot be turned any further after resetting the time or the date, or winding the watch manually. This is extremely important to maintain the watch’s waterproofness. All Rolex watches are designed to be waterproof to the depth of at least 100 metres. Certain models can even withstand unfathomable depths of 1,200 or even 3,900 metres. However, in order for the Oyster case to be properly protected from water, the crown needs to be screwed down until it cannot turn any further. Like the hatch of a submarine, a tightly screwed down crown creates a hermatic seal to protect your Rolex from water and dust.
The aesthetics of a watch is unarguably as important as its precision and reliability. To help maintain the lustre of your Rolex watch, you should clean it once in a while with a piece of soft cloth. If your Rolex watch is fitted with a bracelet, it is possible to wash the case and the bracelet from time to time with soapy water and a very soft brush.
