Breguet เป็นแบรนด์นาฬิการะดับเพรสทีจของเครือ Swatch Group ที่โดดเด่นทั้งในเรื่องของเกียรติประวัติ ชั้นเชิงในการคิดค้น และความประณีตของงานหัตถศิลป์
ชื่อแบรนด์ Breguet มาจากนามสกุลของช่างนาฬิกายุคศตวรรษที่ 18-19 ชื่อ อับราฮัม-หลุยส์ เบรเกต์ซึ่งเดินทางจากสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ไปเรียนรู้วิชาที่ปารีสจนสามารถลงหลักปักฐานสร้างธุรกิจนาฬิกาอยู่ที่นั่น โดยมีเหล่าเจ้าขุนมูลนายต่างๆ เป็นลูกค้าคนสำคัญ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นนโปเลียน โบนาปาร์ต พระนางมารีอองตัวแน็ต และคาโรลีน มูราต์แห่งเนเปิลส์ เป็นต้น

The name “Breguet” originates from the 18th-19th century watchmaker Abraham-Louis Breguet, who ventured from Switzerland to Paris to learn the trade and establish a watchmaking business there. His esteemed clientele included Napoleon Bonaparte, Queen Marie Antoinette, and Caroline Murat, the Queen of Naples.
Abraham-Louis Breguet’s most notable innovation is the tourbillon, a mechanism designed to enhance the accuracy of pocket watches at the time. The tourbillon counteracts against the effects of the earth’s gravitational force by putting affected movement parts in a constantly rotating cage, thereby averaging out any positional deviation. This groundbreaking innovation forms the basis for the tourbillon we see in contemporary wristwatches today.
