Bovet ผลิตนาฬิการุ่นพิเศษ 2 เรือนเพื่อติดตั้งในแผงคอนโซลของรถ Rolls-Royce Boat Tail ที่ลูกค้าคนพิเศษสั่งออกแบบและผลิตเป็นพิเศษไม่เหมือนใคร

Rolls-Royce Boat Tail คือชื่อของรถยนต์รุ่นที่ออกแบบและผลิตเป็นพิเศษซึ่ง Rolls-Royce Motor Cars เปิดตัวไปเมื่อปลายเดือนพฤษภาคมที่ผ่านมา คนรักนาฬิกาท่านใดได้เห็นภาพหรือวีดีโอก็อาจจะตาดีมองเห็นนาฬิกา Bovet บนแผงคอนโซลของนาฬิการุ่นดังกล่าวแล้ว แต่ภาพนาฬิกาแบบชัดๆ และรายละเอียดที่เกี่ยวข้องทั้งหมดนั้นเพิ่งจะออกตามมาในเดือนนี้ และปรากฏว่านาฬิกาที่มากับรถมีถึง 2 เรือนด้วยกันสำหรับคู่สามีภรรยาผู้เป็นเจ้าของรถ
Boat Tail เป็นโปรเจคที่เริ่มต้นขึ้นเมื่อ 4 ปีที่แล้ว ในขณะนั้นมีลูกค้าคนสำคัญ 3 รายของ Rolls-Royce บอกกับทางบริษัทว่าพวกเขาต้องการให้สร้างรถให้ในลักษณะ “โค้ชบิลด์” หรือเรียกเป็นภาษาที่เราคุ้นเคยกว่านั้นก็คือ “คัสต้อม” นั่นเอง โจทย์ของลูกค้ากลุ่มนี้คือต้องการได้รถ Rolls-Royce แบบที่เขาไม่เคยเห็นมาก่อน และเนื่องจากทั้งสามต่างชื่นชมการออกแบบเรือร่วมสมัยจึงตกลงใช้เรือยอทช์ระดับ J-Class เป็นพื้นฐานแห่งแรงบันดาลใจในการออกแบบรถ โดย Rolls-Royce จะผลิตรถทั้งหมด 3 คันโดยใช้บอดี้เดียวกัน แต่จะมีการตกแต่งและใส่รายละเอียดให้แต่ละคันตามความชอบส่วนตัวของลูกค้าแต่ละรายนี้
ขณะนี้ Rolls-Royce Boat Tail คันแรกได้รับการเปิดตัวแล้วดังที่แจ้งข้างต้น ข้อมูลจากแบรนด์ไม่ระบุว่าลูกค้าชื่ออะไร เผยแค่เพียงว่าเป็น “คู่รักที่ประสบความสำเร็จในระดับโลก” ความเป็นเรือของรถรุ่นนี้จะเห็นได้ชัดเจนที่สุดเมื่อมองจากด้านข้าง เพราะเราจะได้เห็นการเอียงโน้มมาด้านหลังของเสาเอ เรื่อยไปจนถึงท้ายรถที่เทโค้งลงอย่างสวยงาม ภายในท้ายรถนี้เองมีฟีเจอร์เด็ดคือตู้เก็บเครื่องดื่มและอาหารเพื่อการไปปิคนิคข้างนอกบ้าน เพียงกดปุ่มแล้วฝาครอบก็จะยกตัวขึ้นเหมือนปีกผีเสื้อเพื่อเผยให้เห็นของต่างๆ ที่จัดเตรียมไว้ในช่องอย่างสวยงาม ไม่ว่าจะเป็นแชมเปญ Armand de Brignac ที่แช่เย็นจนได้ที่ ภาชนะและช้อนส้อมตรา Boat Tail จาก Christofle และเก้าอี้พับได้ที่ผลิตโดย Promemoria
อีกชื่อหนึ่งที่ต้องกล่าวถึงก็คือ Bovet เพราะว่าหลังจากที่โปรเจคนี้เริ่มต้นได้ประมาณปีหนึ่ง Bovet ก็ได้รับการเชื้อเชิญให้มีส่วนร่วมในการออกแบบนาฬิการุ่นพิเศษ 2 เรือนที่สามารถผสานเป็นส่วนหนึ่งกับรถคันนี้ได้อย่างกลมกลืน สาเหตุที่ทำให้ Bovet ได้รับเลือกมีอยู่สองประการหลักด้วยกัน ประการแรก คือ คู่สามีภรรยาผู้เป็นเจ้าของรถคันนี้เป็นลูกค้าที่สะสมนาฬิกา Bovet อยู่แล้ว และประการที่สอง คือ Bovet มีระบบตัวเรือนแบบ Amadeo ที่ทำให้ผู้ใช้สามารถถอดตัวเรือนออกมาจากสายนาฬิกาข้อมือเพื่อปรับเปลี่ยนสภาพให้กลายเป็นนาฬิกาพกหรือนาฬิกาห้อยคอได้โดยสะดวก ดังนั้นหน้าที่หลักของ Bovet ในครั้งนี้จึงเป็นการออกแบบชุดติดตั้งนาฬิกาบนแผงคอนโซลของรถที่จะสามารถปกป้องนาฬิกาตูร์บิยองจากแรงสั่นสะเทือนต่างๆ ยามที่รถวิ่งไปบนถนนได้ และในรถคันนี้ยังมีลิ้นชักพิเศษเพื่อเก็บนาฬิกา สายนาฬิกาข้อมือ สายโซส่หรือสายห้อยคอเวลาไม่ใช้งานอีกด้วย
และแล้วก็มาถึงรายละเอียดของนาฬิกาที่เราเก็บไว้ท้ายที่สุด นาฬิกาคู่ชายและหญิง 2 เรือนนี้มีตัวเรือนขนาด 44 มม. ที่ผลิตจากไวท์โกลด์ทั้งคู่ การทำงานใช้เครื่องไขลานที่มีกลไกตูร์บิยองและกำลังลานสำรอง 5 วัน สามารถสวมใส่แบบสลับด้านหน้าและด้านหลังได้เพราะมีเข็มบอกเวลาอยู่ทั้งสองด้าน ด้านหน้าจะมีหน้าปัดงานวู๊ดมาเคททรีที่ใช้ไม้อ็อบซิเดียนเอยัสทางด้านครึ่งบนเพื่อเว้นที่ว่างด้านล่างให้สำหรับงานแกะสลักรูปนางฟ้ากลางตูร์บิยองบริดจ์ ด้านหลังมีหน้าปัดแก้วอเวนจูรีนสีน้ำเงินลวดลายแผนที่ดวงดาวบนท้องฟ้า ณ เมืองเกิดของคุณผู้ชายในคืนที่เขาเกิดจริงๆ ถัดลงมาเป็นงานแกะสลักรูปรถ Boat Tail ที่ลงสีแลคเกอร์จนเหมือนกับตัวรถและมีการตกแต่งรายละเอียดปลีกย่อยต่างๆ ด้านงานมิเนเจอร์เพ้นติ้ง ตูร์บิยองบริดจ์ด้านหลังนี้แตกต่างจากด้านหน้าคือมีการขัดเงาและมีการแกะสลักชื่อของคุณภรรยาเอาไว้
สำหรับนาฬิกาเรือนของคุณภรรยานั้นที่แตกต่างอย่างแรกเลยก็คือตัวเรือนซึ่งมีการแกะสลักภายนอกด้วยมือและเติมแลคเกอร์สีน้ำเงินลงไปตามช่องต่างๆ หน้าปัดด้านหน้าดูเหมือนของเรือนผู้ชาย แต่ด้านหลังนั้นแทนที่จะเป็นหน้าปัดอเวนจูรีนลายแผนที่ดวงดาวก็เปลี่ยนเป็นหน้าปัดเปลือกหอยมุกงานมิเนเจอร์เพ้นติ้งลายดอกไม้เหมือนในนาฬิกาพกรุ่นประวัติศาสตร์ของ Bovet ถัดลงมามีงานแกะสลักรูปรถ Boat Tail เหมือนกันและแน่นอนว่าต้องมีการแกะสลักชื่อคุณสามีบนตูร์บิยองบริดจ์ด้วย
โปรเจคนี้ถือว่าเป็นความลักชัวรี่ที่เกิดจากรสนิยมและความรักอย่างแท้จริง ขณะนี้เรายังไม่ทราบว่ารถ Rolls-Royce Boat Tail อีก 2 คันที่เหลือจะมีนาฬิกา Bovet ด้วยหรือไม่ ถ้ามีก็คงจะเหมาะดี แต่ก็ต้องรอดูกันต่อไป อดใจรออีกไม่นานครับ

Two unique Bovet watches for his and hers were developed specifically for the owners of the coachbuilt Rolls-Royce Boat Tail car.

Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is a commission car unveiled to the public by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in late May. The sharpest eyes might have caught a glimpse of a Bovet watch affixed into the dashboard of the said car. However, it was not until this month that dedicated visuals and details of the watch (well, watches) are provided.
It all started four years ago when three commissioning clients asked Rolls-Royce to produce a completely bespoke car for them in the coachbuild fashion, something they had never seen before. As all of them share a common interest in contemporary nautical design, the J-Class yachts were used as an inspirational basis of the design. A total of three cars will be built with a common body, but each of them will be individually personalised in accordance with the specific taste of each commissioning patron.
The first Rolls-Royce Boat Tail was recently unveiled as mentioned above. This sharp and thoroughly contemporary product was created for “a globally successful couple” whose names were not disclosed by the manufacturer. Its nautical references are highly evident when viewed from the side from the rearward lean of the A-pillar to the tapered rear which houses the “hosting suite” for al fresco dining. At the touch of a button, the deck opens like a butterfly to reveal its content which includes precision-chilled Armand de Brignac champagne, Boat Tail-signed Christofle cutlery and Promemoria-manufactured interlocking stools.
Another name to mention is Bovet. About one year into the development of the car, the Swiss watch brand was invited to take part in the development of two bespoke watches that can seamlessly integrate into the overall design of the Boat Tail.
Bovet was chosen for two apparent reasons. Firstly, the couple owning this car were already Bovet collectors. Secondly, their Amadeo case system comes in handy here because it allows the watch case to be removed from its wristwatch strap setup and to serve as a pocket watch or even a pendant watch. The main task then was for Bovet to develop a dashboard mounting system capable of shielding each tourbillon watch from shocks and vibrations while on the road. An additional drawer was also built to store the watches, the straps, the chain and the pendant when they are not in use.
We saved watch details for last. Both measuring 44 mm and made of white gold, the two reversable watches feature a brand new hand-winding tourbillon movement with 5-day power reserve, and the reversibility of two dials. On the front side of the watch for him, an Obsidian Ayous wood marquetry dial occupies the upper half of the space, leaving ample space for the Spirit of Ecstasy sculpture on the tourbillon bridge. On the reverse side, a blue aventurine glass dial depicts the sky chart as seen from the owner’s birth place on his day of birth. A sculpture of the Boat Tail is lacquered to match the colour of the car and miniature painted to add the details. The mirror-polished tourbillon bridge is engraved with the name of his wife.
The feminine counterpart of the watch has a case that is hand-engraved and filled with blue lacquer. While the front dial looks essentially the same, the aventurine dial with sky chart on the reverse dial is replaced by a mother of pearl dial with miniature painted flower bouquet in the same style as a historical Bovet pocket watch. Below the Boat Tail sculpture is the tourbillon bridge, and the name engraved on it, of course, is that of the husband.
This entire project can rightly be classified as a product of true luxury, connoisseurship and love. No information is available at this time whether or not a Bovet watch will be a part of the other two Rolls-Royce Boat Tail cars. It makes sense to have one but we will just have to wait and see.
