Bovet Récital 12 Monsieur Dimier: Five Years’ Time

A promise made in 2008, the Récital 12 Monsieur Dimier took Bovet five years to deliver, but it was definitely worth the wait. Developed and manufactured entirely by the Dimier manufacture, this time-only movement boasts a unique and breath-taking architecture featuring partial openworking, an off-centred dial, and completely exposed wheels for the triple seconds hand. Cut-outs on the main plate allow the power reserve indication to be seen, likewise for the single mainspring which is all it takes to power the watch for seven days.

The next aspect of this timepiece, which qualifies it as a work of haute horlogerie, is its relative thinness. At just 3.9mm in height, the movement is sufficiently rigid and can fit in a 42mm diameter case with a maximum height of 9.1mm. According to Bovet, this was a concerted effort of makers from the movement, dial and case departments. The movement. Calibre Virtuoso II Spécialité Horlogère Dimier 1738, is manually wound with 339 components, and poised to be a platform for Bovet to create future haute horlogerie works. Récital 12 comes in white or red gold (S$63,080), and only 150 of each will be made.
