ต่างประเทศฝั่งโซนยุโรป ตอนนี้อยู่ในช่วงซัมเมอร์ ที่การพักผ่อนทางทะเลกำลังได้รับความนิยม หลากหลายแบรนด์นาฬิกาในปัจจุบันได้พัฒนาประสิทธิภาพและรูปแบบนาฬิกาให้สอดคล้องกับไลฟ์สไตล์กับกิจกรรมทางน้ำ โดย Blancpain ได้รังสรรค์นาฬิกาดำน้ำรูปแบบโมเดิร์นเรือนแรกนับตั้งแต่ปี 1953 โดย Blancpain Fifty Fathoms ถูกพัฒนาขึ้นโดยนักดำน้ำ เพื่อตอบโจทย์ความต้องการในการสำรวจโลกใต้ท้องทะเล

เทรนด์นาฬิกาสำหรับนักดำน้ำกำลังได้รับความนิยม จากเครื่องมือบอกเวลา กลายเป็นเครื่องประดับที่สะท้อนสไตล์และรสนิยม ดังนั้นในปี 2013 Blancpain จึงต่อยอดด้วยการเปิดตัวนาฬิกา Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe ซึ่งชื่อ “บาติสกาฟ” หมายถึง “เรือดำน้ำขนาดเล็ก” แค่ชื่อก็สร้างความเชื่อมั่นในประสิทธิภาพในการกันน้ำได้ลึก 300 เมตร จะใส่ไปทะเลหรือทำกิจกรรมทางน้ำก็พร้อมเผชิญ ปรับขนาดตัวเรือนมาเป็น 43 มิลลิเมตร ดูพอเหมาะกับข้อมือ มีมาให้เลือกหลากหลายวัสดุของตัวเรือนทั้งไทเทเนียม สเตนเลสสตีลหรือเซรามิก สำหรับแฟชั่นนิสต้าตัวเรือนเซรามิกสีดำคงทำให้สนุกกับการมิกซ์แอนด์แมทช์ในการแต่งตัว ถึงแม้ตัวเรือนและหน้าปัดจะดำสนิท แต่ได้เพิ่มรายละเอียดด้วยเข็มทรงแท่งและมาร์กแสดงค่าเวลาทรงกลมและเหลี่ยมที่เคลือบสารเรืองแสง จึงสามารถอ่านค่าเวลาได้อย่างชัดเจนในที่มืด
Blancpain ไม่หยุดการคิดค้นยังคงเดินหน้าพัฒนานาฬิกา Fifty Fathoms ล่าสุดกับการเปิดตัว Fifty Fathoms Tech Gombessa นาฬิการุ่นพิเศษที่รังสรรค์ขึ้นเพื่อฉลองวาระครบรอบ 70 ปีของคอลเลคชั่นในปีนี้ เด่นสะดุดตากับตัวเรือนไทเทเนียมขนาด 47 มิลลิเมตร จึงสามารถอ่านค่าเวลาได้อย่างง่ายดายเวลาสวมใส่กับชุดดำน้ำและอุปกรณ์ต่างๆ เพิ่มเข็มที่สี่ที่จะหมุนครบรอบหน้าปัดในเวลา 3 ชั่วโมง ใช้อ่านค่าควบคู่กับสเกลบนวงแหวนเซรามิกเพื่อจับเวลาการดำน้ำที่ยาวนานกว่า 60 นาที ซี่งเป็นระยะเวลาสูงสุดที่นาฬิกาดำน้ำทั่วไปจะสามารถจับเวลาได้ ถือเป็นหนึ่งผลงานรุ่นแรกในไลน์ Fifty Fathoms Tech ที่ทาง Blancpain คิดค้นสำหรับการดำน้ำแบบเทคนิคอลโดยเฉพาะ ซึ่งได้พัฒนานาฬิการ่วมกับนักดำน้ำและนักชีววิทยาทางทะเล โลรองต์ บัลเลสต้า ผู้ร่วมก่อตั้งโครงการสำรวจโลกใต้น้ำ Gombessa Expeditions กับ Blancpain เมื่อ 10 ปีก่อน ถือเป็นการสานต่อพันธกิจในการร่วมสำรวจโลกใต้ท้องทะเลซึ่งจะไม่จบเพียงเท่านี้

With the European summer in full swing and people headed to the beaches, we cannot help but think of how watch brands have worked to make their water-bound watches even more relevant to the lifestyle of the modern days. One prime example is the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, introduced in 1953 as the first modern dive watch, by divers and for divers with a real need to explore the underwater world. The Fathom part of the name alludes to the unit of depth measurement that was once in popular use.
The Blancpain watch was selected as a standard equipment for the combat swimmers of the French Navy, as well as the SEALs of the US Navy, thanks to its sportive design, durable case architecture and precise timekeeping. In the modern days, the current design of the Fifty Fathoms as we know it was introduced in 2007. Its stainless steel case measures 45 mm in diameter to correspond with oversized watch trend. Versions are produced in titanium as well for superior lightness on the wrist as one goes about his activities and diving adventures. The Fifty Fathoms watch is water resistant to 300 meters. Its sapphire crystal case back reveals the self-winding Caliber 1315. A domed sapphire crystal ring over the bezel insert completes the characteristic look of this watch.
You can say that dive watches are trending at the moment. What was once a tool to tell the time has become a piece of accessory that reflects one’s style and taste. This is why, in 2013, Blancpain made the important move to launch Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe line. The name alone, meaning a small submersible, is enough to induce confidence in the 300-meter water resistance rating. This is the watch to wear while relaxing on the beach or engaging in water activities. Its case size is reduced to 43 mm to fit more wrists. Case material choices include titanium, stainless steel and ceramic. For fashionistas, the black ceramic version should prove most versatile in terms of mix and matching. Straight hands and circular and rectangular hour markers on the dial are coated with luminous materials for ease of time-reading in the dark.
Blancpain continues to innovate. Most recently, the Fifty Fathoms Tech Gombessa was unveiled as a part of the collection’s 70th anniversary celebration. The 47 mm titanium case is striking when worn over a wet suit and near the various diving apparatus. On its dial, a fourth hand completes one revolution around the dial in three hours – it is read against the corresponding scale on the black ceramic bezel insert to determine the dive time of longer than the 60-minute limit offered by conventional dive watches. The the Fifty Fathoms Tech Gombessa marks also the establishment of the Fifty Fathoms Tech line of watches, dedicated to the science of technical diving. It was developed in collaboration with diver and marine biologist Laurent Ballesta who co-founded the Gombessa Expeditions with Blancpain exactly 10 years ago. And so the next chapter begins for this long-standing mission for the oceans.
