Jaeger-LeCoultre ชวนเบเนดิกต์ คัมเบอร์แบตช์ถ่ายภาพยนตร์สั้น โปรโมทนาฬิการุ่น Polaris Mariner Memovox

Polaris Mariner Memovox คือผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีความสำคัญที่สุดของ Jaeger-LeCoultre ในช่วงครึ่งหลังของปี ค.ศ. 2020 นาฬิกาสามเม็ดมะยมรุ่นนี้เป็นการสืบทอดตำนานที่บุกเบิกโดยนาฬิกาดำน้ำของ Jaeger-LeCoultre เมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1968 ซึ่งมีฟังก์ชั่นตั้งปลุกเตือนให้ขึ้นสู่ผิวน้ำ
นาฬิการุ่นใหม่นี้กันน้ำได้ลึกเป็นพิเศษถึง 300 เมตร ความโดดเด่นอยู่ที่หน้าปัดสีน้ำเงินเข้มแบบไล่สีที่ดูมีความสปอร์ตและร่วมสมัยในเวลาเดียวกัน ครั้นเมื่อพลิกมาด้านหลังก็จะเห็นว่านาฬิการุ่นนี้แตกต่างจาก Memovox ปกติตรงที่ใช้ฝาหลังแบบแซฟไฟร์คริสตอล สาเหตุที่ทำเช่นนี้ได้ก็เพราะว่าเครื่องออโต้รุ่นคาลิเบอร์ 956 ใหม่มีการย้ายก็องไปไว้รอบนอกเป็นที่เรียบร้อย การตั้งเวลาปลุกใช้เม็ดมะยมเม็ดบนเพื่อหมุนให้เครื่องหมายทรงสามเหลี่ยมชี้ไปยังเวลาที่ต้องการ เม็ดมะยมเม็ดกลางใช้หมุนขอบตัวเรือนชั้นใน และเม็ดมะยมเม็ดล่างใช้ตั้งเข็มบอกเวลาทั้งสาม
การโปรโมทนาฬิการุ่นนี้ก็ไม่ธรรมดาด้วยเช่นกัน เพราะ Jaeger-LeCoultre ไปชวนเบเนดิกต์ คัมเบอร์แบตช์มาถ่ายภาพยนตร์สั้นชื่อ In a Breath ที่เกาะรากิโนของประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ เนื่องจากเบเนดิกต์เป็นดาราที่มีความสนิทสนมกับทางแบรนด์เป็นพิเศษคนหนึ่ง ใจความสำคัญของภาพยนตร์คือเรื่องของความเชื่อมโยงกันระหว่างการดำน้ำและการทำสมาธิ ตลอดจนผลที่เกิดเกี่ยวเนื่องกับลมหายใจและเวลาซึ่งมีจังหวะจะโคนที่สม่ำเสมอ เปรียบเปรยได้กับจังหวะการแกว่งไปมาอย่างแม่นยำและต่อเนื่องของบาลานซ์วีลในเครื่องนาฬิกา และภาพยนตร์ดังกล่าวยังนำเสนอแง่มุมแห่งความสงบในจิตใจด้วย
ดาราเจ้าของบทบาทด็อกเตอร์สเตรนจ์ให้สัมภาษณ์ในช่วงของการถ่ายทำว่า “เมื่อคุณได้ค้นใจตัวเองอย่างจริงจัง เมื่อคุณอยู่ในห้วงแห่งความสงบนิ่ง … คุณจะสามารถยกตัวเองออกจากความยุ่งเหยิงต่างๆ ในชีวิตได้ คุณจะมองเห็นภาพ [ปัจจุบัน] ที่ชัดเจน นั่นคือสถานะแห่งการไหลลื่นที่คุณต้องการในทุกกิจกรรม ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการเล่นกีฬา การแสดง การสร้างสรรค์หรืองานศิลปะ คุณต้องอยู่ในห้วงแห่งการไหลลื่นนี้โดยแยกตัวจากโลกและเป็นหนึ่งกับโลกในเวลาเดียวกัน”
อยากให้แฟน Jaeger-LeCoultre และแฟนคลับของเบเนดิกต์ได้ดูภาพยนตร์สั้นดังกล่าวนี้ครับ …

The Polaris Mariner Memovox is clearly the most significant launch of Jaeger-LeCoultre in the second half of 2020. An important expansion of the Polaris collection, this 300-metre-water-resistant novelty is a direct homage to the maison’s historic 1968 dive watch with alarm functionality.
It fascinates you first of all with the new deep blue gradient dial that is as sporty as it is contemporary. Then, upon closer scrutiny, you would notice that the watch fashions a sapphire caseback – a configuration made possible by the new peripheral gong of the self-winding Calibre 956. To set the alarm, one uses the top crown to align the triangular pointer with the desired time. The other two crowns are used to rotate the inner dive bezel and to set the three time-telling hands.
Marking this important launch is a short film featuring Benedict Cumberbatch: a long-time friend of the brand. Titled “In a Breath”, the film, which was shot on Rakino Island of New Zealand, centres around the actor’s practice of diving and meditation, and the effect both have on breath and time. An allusion is then made between that rhythm and the dutiful beats of a watch movement. And then there is the important subject of “peace”.
“When you reconnect with what’s really going on in your inner life, when you are in a still space … you distance yourself from the distracting traffic of life,” says Cumberbatch. “When you sit in that, you have a very clear focus [on the present] and that’s what you’re aiming for in the flow state of any performance – whether it is athletic or acting or a moment of creation or artistry. You want to be in the flow, disconnected and connected at the same time.”
