If you find comfort in order and adherence to protocols, especially at work, the Breguet Classique Extra-Plate 5157 is your perfect match as it is an embodiment of resoluteness. Having said that, the watch is not devoid of intricacy, not at all.
With thickness of only 5.45 mm, the Classique qualifies as an ultra-thin watch. Its 18K rose gold case measures 38 mm in diameter and features fluting on the caseband – a hallmark decoration that dates back to the time of Abraham-Louis Breguet. The two open-tipped Breguet style hands in blued steel dutifully carry out their function over a silvered gold dial with Clous de Paris hobnail pattern, created from traditional engine-turning technique. The practice was said to be popularly applied to the case, but the eponymous watchmaker decided to use it on the dial – it has since been passed down from one generation to the next at Breguet. Completing the list of intricate details are two small secret Breguet signatures, engraved on both sides of the 12 o’clock marker, more or less for just the watch owner to see.
