A. Lange & Sӧhne celebrates the 25th anniversary of their iconic Lange 1 collection.

For A. Lange & Sӧhne, the 24th of October carries significant meaning as it marked its return 25 years ago after a hiatus imposed by the consequences of World War II. Its comeback was possible only after the fall of Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany.
One of the four watch models introduced at the milestone event on the 24th of October 1994 was the Lange 1, best known for its off-centred time display and characteristic outsize date. To mark this special jubilee occasion, A. Lange & Sӧhne offers the Lange 1 “25th Anniversary” as a limited edition of 250 units in white gold. The 38.5 mm watch features a silver dial with blue-printed numerals, markers and letters and a matching dark blue alligator leather strap.
The major difference from the regular references is the hinged caseback with engraving of the headquarter building and the names of two gentlemen who were instrumental to the rebirth of the brand: Walter Lange who was the direct descendant of the founder; and Günter Blümlein whose business acumen contributed to the lasting success of the brand. Once this caseback is lifted, the hand-winding Calibre L12.1 underneath is visible, as well as the engraving of the anniversary number “25” on the balance cock which is blued to match the cool hue on the dial.
Public awareness of German watchmaking is not the same as that of the Swiss. It can be an enlightening experience though if you closely examine the finer specimens like those from a brand like A. Lange & Sӧhne.

วันที่ 24 ตุลาคมของทุกปีเป็นวันที่ A. Lange & Sӧhne ให้ความสำคัญเป็นอย่างมาก เพราะวันดังกล่าวเมื่อ 25 ปีที่แล้วถือเป็นการกลับมาของแบรนด์นาฬิกาที่มีประวัติศาสตร์ยาวนานแบรนด์นี้หลังจากที่ต้องเว้นช่วงไปเพราะผลจากสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 และกลับมาได้อีกครั้งเมื่อมีการทำลายกำแพงเบอร์ลินที่แบ่งเยอรมนีเป็นตะวันออกและตะวันตก
นาฬิการุ่นหนึ่งในจำนวน 4 รุ่นที่ใช้เป็นการเปิดตัวในครั้งนั้นก็คือ Lange 1 ซึ่งเป็นที่นิยมมากขึ้นตามลำดับด้วยการออกแบบหน้าปัดที่แตกต่างโดยมีเข็มบอกเวลาอยู่ในตำแหน่งเยื้องไปทางด้านซ้าย มีเข็มวินาทีอยู่ทางด้านล่างขวาและมีหน้าต่างวันที่แบบตัวเลขคู่ซึ่งเป็นเอกลักษณ์หนึ่งของแบรนด์อยู่ทางด้านบนขวา เมื่อถึงวาระแห่งการฉลองครบรอบ 25 ปีในปีนี้ A. Lange & Sӧhne จึงมีการผลิตนาฬิการุ่น Lange 1 “25th Anniversary” เป็นจำนวนจำกัด 250 เรือนให้นักสะสมได้เลือกเป็นเจ้าของ ตัวเรือนขนาด 38.5 มม. ผลิตจากไวท์โกลด์ หน้าปัดเป็นสีเงิน พิมพ์ตัวเลข ตัวอักษรและขีดเครื่องหมายทั้งหมดด้วยสำน้ำเงินและใช้สายหนังจระเข้สีน้ำเงินเข้มให้ดูเข้ากัน
การออกแบบที่แตกต่างจากรุ่นปกติเป็นอย่างมากก็คือฝาหลังซึ่งมีลักษณะเป็นแผ่นครอบปิดที่มีการแกะสลักรูปอาคารสำนักงานใหญ่ของแบรนด์พร้อมด้วยชื่อของสองบุคคลสำคัญที่ทำให้ชื่อ A. Lange & Sӧhne กลับมาได้ในยุคสมัยใหม่นี้ ได้แก่วอลเตอร์ ลังเงอซึ่งเป็นทายาทโดยตรงของผู้ก่อตั้งแบรนด์และกุนเทอร์ บลูมไลน์ซึ่งมีส่วนร่วมอย่างมากในการปูพื้นฐานให้แบรนด์แข็งแกร่งมาจนถึงทุกวันนี้ เมื่อยกแผ่นครอบนี้ขึ้นก็จะเห็นกลไกแบบไขลานรุ่นคาลิเบอร์ L121.1 สังเกตบริเวณบาลานซ์ค็อกมีการแกะสลักตัวเลข 25 พร้อมด้วยลายเส้นเต็มพื้นที่ตามแบบฉบับซิกเนเจอร์ของแบรนด์ แล้วยังมีการลงสีน้ำเงินด้วยเพื่อความเด่นชัดและสอดคล้องกับสีบนหน้าปัด
แม้คนทั่วไปจะไม่คุ้นเคยกับคำว่านาฬิกาหรูจากประเทศเยอรมนีนัก แต่อยากให้มีโอกาสได้ชมและสัมผัสกับงานฝีมือจากช่างของประเทศนี้โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งของ A. Lange & Sӧhne แล้วจะพบว่ามีความประณีต งดงามและชวนหลงใหลไม่แพ้นาฬิกาจากสวิตเซอร์แลนด์เลย
