นับเป็นโอกาสพิเศษที่ ฟรานเชสกา แอมฟิเทียทรอฟ พาชมเราไฮจิลเวลรี่คอลเลคชั่นล่าสุดด้วยตนเอง ซึ่งคอลเลคชั่นนี้เป็นภาคต่อของคอลเลคชั่น Deep Time ที่เปิดตัวไปเมื่อปีที่แล้ว โดย Deep Time Chapter II นี้เป็นการถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวของธรณีวิทยา มรดกทางธรรมชาติ ความงดงามและความเชื่อมโยงของสิ่งมีชีวิตที่ถือกำเนิดบนพิภพนี้ โดยผสมผสานรูปทรง เส้นสาย จิตวิญญาณและดีเอ็นเอของแบรนด์เข้ากับเพชรและอัญมณีล้ำค่าต่างๆ ร้อยเรียงมาเป็นเครื่องประดับสุดอลังการรวมทั้งสิ้น 10 ธีมที่สะท้อนออกมาเป็นผลงานไฮจิลเวลรี่ที่มีเอกลักษณ์รวมกว่า 50 ชิ้นงานและต่างก็เป็นเครื่องประดับที่มีเพียงหนึ่งเดียวเท่านั้น ซึ่งเราจะขอนำเสนอบางส่วนของคอลเลคชั่นในบทความนี้
เธอบอกเล่าเรื่องราวของ Deep Time Chapter II หรือการเริ่มต้นของสิ่งมีชีวิตบนโลกใบนี้ เริ่มด้วยแผ่นดินของโลกที่แบ่งออกเป็นสองส่วนด้วยกันคือ ซีกโลกใต้หรือกอนวานา (Gondwana) และซีกโลกเหนือหรือลอเรเซีย (Laurasia) สร้อยคอโชคเกอร์ไล่ระดับ 7 ชั้นในธีม Laurasia ที่ตัวเรือนสร้อยคอประกอบไปด้วยแพลทตินัม เยลโลว์โกลด์ และพิงค์โกลด์ สะกดทุกสายตาด้วยเยลโลว์ไดมอนด์เอ็มเมอรอลคัทขนาด 5.02 กะรัตที่รายล้อมไปด้วยเพชรน้ำงามน้อยใหญ่กว่า 270 เม็ดและไม่ลืมที่จะผสานเอกลักษณ์ของแบรนด์ด้วยการประดับเพชรตัว V และเพชรขนาด 3.11 กะรัตที่เจียระไนเป็นลวดลายดอกไม้โมโนแกรมอันเป็นคัทพิเศษของแบรนด์ ซึ่งสร้อยคอเส้นนี้นับว่าเป็นเครื่องประดับที่มีมูลค่าสูงที่สุดของคอลเลคชั่นและใช้เวลาในการสรรค์สร้างกว่า 2,465 ชั่วโมง ทักษะชั้นสูงและความเชี่ยวชาญของช่างฝีมือจิลเวลรี่ของเมซงนั้นคือเบื้องหลังความงดงามของเครื่องประดับเลอค่าชิ้นนี้

An exclusive showcase of Louis Vuitton high jewelry and luxury time pieces was recently revealed to Southeast Asian media at Amanpuri in Phuket, led by Louis Vuitton’s artistic director for jewelry and watchmaking, Francesca Amfitheatrof, and Michel Navas, Master Watchmaker and co-founder of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. Luxuo Thailand was honored to attend the showcase.

Ms. Amfitheatrof personally gave us a tour of the high jewelry collection. Continuing the journey that began with Deep Time, unveiled last year, Deep Time Chapters II unfolds by taking us to earth’s geological foundations, before moving on to its natural heritage, the evolutionary journey and the strands that connect all life on earth. Lines, shapes and forms fuse with the brand’s spirit and DNA, creating spectacular high jewelry creations across 10 themes. The collection comprises 50 one-of-a-kind masterpieces, some of which we will be featuring here.
According to Ms. Amfitheatrof, Deep Time Chapter II tells the story of the beginning of life on earth, commencing when earth’s land masses were divided into two giant continents, Gondwana in the south and Laurasia in the north. Laurasia is the theme of one of the chapter’s masterpieces, a seven-tier choker crafted from platinum, yellow gold and pink gold and set with priceless gems. A commanding, 5.02-carat emerald cut yellow diamond is surrounded by over 270 diamonds of various sizes, along with a signature V diamond and a 3.11-carat monogram flower-cut diamond. Taking over 2,465 hours of highly skilled craftsmanship to complete, the necklace is the single most valuable piece in the collection.
The narrative of Deep Time Chapter II flows on to the primeval tectonic shifts and continental drift that resulted in the formation of various geographical features and phenomena such as earthquakes. Drift-themed jewelry is simply breathtaking. The star of the section comes in the form of a single-strand necklace set with 30.47-carat octagonal yellow sapphire and diamonds in a deep V and graphic patterns. From here, we moved on to the Symbiosis theme encapsulating the early chapters of life on earth, including the birth of organic ecosystems and life cycles of tiny yet surprisingly complicated organisms. We were mesmerized by a tiered necklace of flawless pink and purple spinels of different sizes and flawless diamonds and monogram star-cut diamonds on mushroom-shaped settings resembling precious life forms. The necklace took over 1,381 hours to complete and the exquisite gem setting apparently required an expert degree of accuracy.
An up-close-and-personal view of Deep Time Chapter II was all the confirmation one needed of the vision, ingenuity and savoir-faire involved in the design and selection of gemstones to bring Francesca Amphitheatrof’s imagination to life. Great amounts of skill, craftsmanship, refinement and meticulousness were harnessed for the selection of gemstones and the process of turning them into jewelry masterpieces.
Our tour of the high watchmaking collections was guided by Michel Navas, La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton’s Master Watchmaker and co-founder, and Matthieu Hegi, its artist director, both of whom shared with us stories and inspirations behind each collection. We were treated to an exclusive viewing of rare timepieces, including the Louis Vuitton Tambour Slim Vivienne Jumping hours Sakura, the recently launched Astronaut with jumping hours, various iterations of the legendary Tambour Spin Time, Tambour Moon Flying Tourbillon, and the Tambour Fiery Heart Automata, which was nominated for the GPHG 2023 in the Lady’s Complication category. We were just as impressed by our honorary guides’ passion and commitment to taking watchmaking to the highest level, as by the ingenious engineering involved in designing and crafting watch mechanisms and complications, which became ever more apparent as the two gentlemen took us through the stories behind each exclusive timepiece.
Although it only became part of the House of Louis Vuitton in 2011, La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton has shown watch lovers and collectors that, when it comes to capabilities and dedication to haute horlogerie, it is in the same league as older, more established watchmakers. And judging from the parade of high watchmaking marvels shown at the event, we can confidently say that their next moves are bound to be very exciting.
