Cartier ฉลองครบรอบ 100 ปีของดีไซน์แหวน Trinity อย่างเต็มภาคภูมิ

จิลเวลรีคอลเลคชั่น Trinity ของ Cartier เป็นเครื่องประดับระดับไอคอนนิกที่สะท้อนจิตวิญญาณของแบรนด์ในเรื่องของความเลิศทางด้านความคิดสร้างสรรค์และงานฝีมือช่างจิลเวลรี่ได้เป็นอย่างดี นับตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 1924 ที่คุณ หลุยส์ คาร์เทียร์ ออกแบบแหวน Trinity โดยนำโลหะล้ำค่าอย่างเยลโลว์โกลด์ โรสโกลด์และแพลทตินัม (ซึ่งปัจจุบันถูกแทนที่ด้วยไวท์โกลด์) มาใช้เป็นวัสดุผลิตแหวนเกลี้ยง 3 วงที่เกี่ยวคล้องเป็นจิวเวลรีชิ้นเดียวกันได้อย่างน่าพิศวง

และด้วยความที่ดีไซน์พื้นฐานของ Trinity นั้นถูกออกแบบมาอย่างชาญฉลาดทำให้ Cartier สามารถแต่งเติมความงามและรายละเอียดให้กับแหวนวงนี้เรื่อยมา โดยนอกจากจะมีแหวน Trinity แบบเรียบแล้วก็ยังมีแบบเซาะร่องและแบบประดับเพชรเพื่อยกระดับความหรูหราและเจิดจรัสแวววาว หรือจะเป็นการปรับเปลี่ยนขนาดของตัวเรือนแหวนให้มีขนาดเรียวลงหรือกว้างขึ้น ตลอดจนการเพิ่มจำนวนวงแหวนที่เกี่ยวคล้องจาก 3 วงเป็น 7 หรือมากถึง 10 วงก็เคยมีมาแล้ว นอกจากนี้ Cartier เองยังต้องการขยายขอบเขตของ Trinity ให้เป็นมากกว่าเครื่องประดับ โดยการต่อยอดความคิดสร้างสรรค์ที่ทำให้เครื่องประดับนั้นเป็นงานศิลป์ที่สามารถสวมใส่ได้ในขณะเดียวกัน ผ่านการร่วมมือกับดีไซเนอร์หรือศิลปินภายนอก อาทิ แคปซูลคอลเลคชั่น Trinity for Chitose Abe of Sacai ที่ร่วมกับ ชิโตเสะ อาเบะ ดีไซเนอร์ชาวญี่ปุ่นเจ้าของแบรนด์แฟชั่นสุดหรู Sacai ในปี ค.ศ. 2022

The Trinity by Cartier stands as an emblem of iconic jewellery, reflecting the brand’s essence in creativity and craftsmanship. Since its inception in 1924, when Louis Cartier designed the Trinity ring, intertwining precious metals like yellow gold, rose gold and platinum (now replaced with white gold), the collection has epitomized sophistication and elegance in a most awe-inspiring way.
This ground breaking product marked Cartier’s first design icon. It brought modernity to the jewellery scene at the time with a sense of wonder while maintaining the subtlety and class for which the maison is known. Over time, the Trinity ring became a favourite of some of the world’s most famous people and celebrities, including French designer and artist Jean Cocteau, American actor Gary Cooper, Grace Kelly or Princess Grace of Monaco, German French actress Romy Schneider, and French actor Alain Delon, to name a few.
Thanks to the ingenious fundamental design of the Trinity, Cartier has been able to enhance the collection’s beauty and intricacy throughout the decades. The rings also came in fluted and diamond-set versions for extra opulence and glamor. Moreover, Cartier has expanded the Trinity offerings by introducing variations in ring widths with slimmer and wider ones, as well as by increasing the number of intertwining rings from three to as many as seven or ten. Furthermore, Cartier has this vision to expand the scope of the Trinity beyond just jewellery, seeking to transform it into wearable art pieces. This endeavour involves collaborating with external designers or artists such as Chitose Abe, the Japanese designer and founder of the luxury fashion brand Sacai, with whom the eponymous capsule collection was revealed in 2022.
In celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Trinity collection, Cartier has further elevated its offerings. Each gold ring in the Trinity set now boasts more substantial volume. For those who prefer jewellery pieces with more heft, the Trinity ring is now offered in an XL size for the first time, while the XL-sized Trinity bracelet has returned to the product portfolio. Additionally, the modular version of the Trinity ring has been conceived for unsurpassed versatility, allowing wearers to change its look in an instant. For example, one may opt to wear it in such a way that the three rings are meshed together as one band for a more discreet look during the day, then transition to a more elaborate evening look with the three rings unravelled, revealing 144 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 1.54 carats on the inner surface of the white gold ring (diamond count and weight for size 52).
Here comes the most surprising twist for the 100th anniversary celebration: the Trinity is also reimagined in the cushion shape! This innovation challenges traditional notions of the Trinity, requiring Cartier to both preserve the DNA of the collection while ensuring the same fluidity as when the rings are round. To this end, Cartier forgoes sketch drawings on paper and started the process by hand-kneading the material into the desired shape, reducing the layers one by one, like a sculptor at work, until the precise form was achieved. At the moment, a cushion-shaped Trinity necklace completes the line.
