“Mai Troppo” เป็นวลีในภาษาอิตาเลียน แปลความได้ว่า “ไม่มีมากเกินไป” ซึ่งก็ดูเป็นชื่อที่เหมาะสมแล้วสำหรับรถคันเล็กแต่โดดเด่นสะดุดตาคันนี้ Fiat B.500 Mai Troppo คือผลงานการออกแบบของ Fiat ร่วมกับ Bulgari ซึ่งแบ่งเวลาจากการประดิษฐ์จิวเวลรี่ชั้นสูงมาตกแต่งพื้นผิวโดยทั่วไปของรถคันนี้ด้วยความเชี่ยวชาญในหลากหลายสาขาของงานฝีมือ
ที่เด่นชัดที่สุดก็คือการตกแต่งภายในห้องผู้โดยสาร เริ่มตั้งแต่แผงคอนโซลที่บุด้วยผ้าไหมสีสันสดใสซึ่งมีลวดลายวาดด้วยมือ แล้วยังมีการนำผ้าไหมลายเดียวกันนี้ไปแต่งขอบเบาะที่นั่งด้วย กล่องใส่จิวเวลรี่และกล่องเก็บหมวกภายในรถบุด้วยหนังลูกวัวสีขาวและชวนให้นึกถึงกระเป๋าและเครื่องหนังอื่นๆ ที่ Bulgari ผลิตขาย โลโก้ชื่อรุ่น 500 บนพวงมาลัยประดับอเมธิสท์ ซิทรีนและโทปาซ สามารถถอดออกมาสวมใส่เป็นเข็มกลัดได้
ทางด้านภายนอกตัวรถนั้นก็โดดเด่นไม่แพ้กัน สีเมทัลลิกที่ใช้ไม่เพียงตรงกับสีอิมพีเรียลแซฟฟรอนอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของ Bulgari แต่ยังมีส่วนผสมของผงทองที่ได้มาจากเศษทองจากสายการผลิตจิวเวลรี่ของ Bulgari ที่เมืองวาเลนซาด้วย ล้อรถก็ทำเป็นลายดาวแปดแฉกอย่างที่เราคุ้นตากันในฐานะหนึ่งสัญลักษณ์ที่ Bulgari เลือกใช้บ่อยครั้ง แล้วเมื่อมองใกล้ๆ ที่กันชนหน้าก็จะเห็นลวดลายที่เกี่ยวพันกันไปมาตามแบบฉบับของคอลเลคชั่น Parentesi แต่ถ้าคุณปลื้มคอลเลคชั่น Monete มากกว่าก็คงจะดีใจเมื่อได้เห็นว่ากุญแจแบบสวมได้ของรถรุ่นนี้มีเหรียญกษาปณ์โบราณประดับอยู่ตรงกลาง
นอกเหนือจากเรื่องการตกแต่งแล้ว ประเด็นในเชิงวิศวกรรมที่น่าสนใจของรถรุ่นนี้ก็คือการเป็นรถยนต์พลังงานไฟฟ้ารุ่นแรกของ Fiat และของเครือ Fiat Chrysler Automobiles ซึ่งเป็นเจ้าของบริษัท Fiat ตามสเปคระบุว่าสามารถวิ่งได้ไกลถึง 320 กิโลเมตรต่อการชาร์จไฟหนึ่งครั้ง
รถคันนี้และรถ Fiat 500 อีกสองคันที่ Fiat ออกแบบร่วมกับ Armani คันหนึ่งและ Kartell อีกคันหนึ่งจะถูกนำขึ้นประมูลในเดือนกรกฎาคมนี้ ใครสนใจก็รอติดตามข่าวสารกันต่อไปว่าต้องทำอย่างไรบ้าง

A unique, one-of-a-kind masterpiece, the Fiat B.500 Mai Troppo is scheduled for auction in July.

“Mai Troppo” is Italian for “never too much” and it is a fitting name for this Italian diva. Taking a bit of time away from designing high jewellery, Bulgari has lent their creative touch to the decoration of the Fiat B.500 Mai Troppo car. This is most evident in the finishing of the luxurious interiors which benefited from a range of savoir faire from jewellery to leather goods.
Colourful, hand-painted silk covers the width of the dashboard and outlines the trims of the leather seats. The car’s jewellery case and hat box in white calf leather skin are reminiscent of the brand’s own handbags and leather goods. The “500” logo on the steering wheel is set with an amethyst, a citrine and a topaz. It can be detached and worn as a brooch.
Outwardly, the convertible is striking with the shade of Imperial Saffron – the hue iconic to the house of Bulgari. Its metallic paint contains special gold dust from the high value scraps coming out of the brand’s production facility in Valenza. More references can be found on the wheels which are shaped after Bulgari’s iconic eight-pointed star, and on the front bumper with the familiar interlocking pattern from the Bulgari Parentesi collection. If you are a fan of the Monete, though, you will be delighted to see the ancient coin set in the centre of the car’s wearable key.
Decorations aside, it must be noted also that the Fiat 500 series to which the B.500 Mai Troppo belongs is the first fully electric Fiat, and the first fully electric vehicle to have come out of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group which owns the Fiat company. Its published operating range is 320 kilometres per charge.
This unique vehicle will be up for auction in July, together with two other Fiat 500 cars: one designed in collaboration with Armani and the other with Kartell. More details should follow in due course.
