BMW จับมือศิลปินแนวกราฟฟิติ FUTURA 2000 ออกแบบ BMW M2 Competition รุ่นพิเศษที่โดดเด่นไม่เหมือนใคร

เครือ BMW มีการทำงานในเชิงวัฒนธรรมร่วมกับคนนอกมาแล้วกว่า 100 ครั้งในช่วงเวลาเกือบ 50 ปีที่ผ่านมา โดยส่วนมากจะเป็นที่เกี่ยวข้องกับศิลปะร่วมสมัยและศิลปะสมัยใหม่ ดนตรีแนวคลาสสิคและดนตรีแจ๊ซ ตลอดจนงานในสาขาสถาปัตยกรรมและการออกแบบ
ล่าสุดนี้ก็คือการร่วมงานกับศิลปินร่วมสมัย FUTURA 2000 ซึ่งโด่งดังเรื่องความเชี่ยวชาญในการใช้สี รูปทรงที่มีวงกลมซ้อนกัน และการจัดองค์ประกอบภาพที่ดูราวกับมีความเคลื่อนไหวไม่หยุดนิ่ง ศิลปินผู้นี้มีชื่อจริงว่าเลนาร์ด ฮิลตัน แม็คเกอร์ เขาไม่ได้เรียนศิลปะในวิทยาลัยใดๆ แต่เรียนรู้ด้วยตนเองจากแหล่งที่เขาเรียกว่า “โรงเรียนรถไฟใต้ดิน” จนเขาเริ่มมีชื่อเสียงโด่งดังในยุคทศวรรษที่ 1980 เมื่องานกราฟฟิติเริ่มเป็นที่ยอมรับของเหล่าแกลเลอรี่จริงจังต่างๆ FUTURA 2000 อยู่ในวงการมากว่า 40 ปีแล้วแต่ยังคงมีผลงานออกมาอย่างต่อเนื่องด้วยฝีมือและวิสัยทัศน์ และในเชิงพาณิชย์ เขาเองก็เป็นศิลปินที่ประสบความสำเร็จเป็นอย่างมากจากการร่วมงานกับแบรนด์ชื่อดังมากมาย
สำหรับการทำงานร่วมกับ BMW ในครั้งนี้ FUTURA 2000 จะลงมือพ่นสีรถ BMW M2 by FUTURA 2000 ด้วยตนเองเป็นจำนวนรวมสามคัน แต่ละคันลวดลายไม่ซ้ำกัน เรียกได้ว่าแต่ละลายนั้นมีแค่คันเดียวในโลก แล้วจากนั้นจึงจะมีรถรุ่นที่เป็นลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่นตามมาโดยใช้ดีไซน์ของ FUTURA 2000 แต่เขาจะไม่ได้เป็นคนลงมือพ่นสีเอง ทุกคันมาพร้อมล้ออัลลอยน้ำหนักเบาขนาด 19 นิ้วสีดำสนิท โดยรถรุ่นพิเศษเหล่านี้จะเปิดให้ผู้สนใจได้จับจองตั้งแต่เดือนมิถุนายน 2020 เป็นต้นไป
ทั้งหมดนี้ถือเป็นความพยายามของ BMW ในการสร้างเทรนด์ใหม่ทั้งในแวดวงรถระดับไฮเพอร์ฟอร์แมนซ์และในแวดวงศิลปะ และยังเป็นการตอกย้ำบริการ BMW Individual ที่เน้นเรื่องการปรับแต่งรถโดยเฉพาะอีกด้วย
ทั้งนี้ ในปี ค.ศ. 2019 ที่ผ่านมา แบรนด์รถทั้งสี่ในเครือ BMW (BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce และ BMW Motorrad) ขายรถได้รวมกันกว่า 2,520,000 คันและมีจักรยานยนต์อีกกว่า 175,000 คันทั่วโลก กำไรก่อนหักภาษีในปีงบประมาณ 2018 คือ 9.815 พันล้านยูโรจากรายได้ 9.7480 หมื่นล้านยูโร

The contemporary artist worked with BMW to design three unique originals and a limited edition of the BMW M2 Competition.

For almost 50 years now, the BMW Group has initiated and engaged in over 100 cultural cooperations worldwide. The company places the main focus of its long-term commitment on contemporary and modern art, classical music and jazz as well as architecture and design.
The latest such collaboration is with contemporary artist FUTURA 2000, who is known for his mastery of color, concentric forms, and kinetic composition. Born Leonard Hilton McGurr, he was entirely self-taught in what he calls “the subway school”. His work caught attention in the 1980s during the period when graffiti met the formal gallery ecosystem. Insight and proficiency have kept him relevant for over 40 years with no signs of slowing down. He has also achieved great success as a commercial artist, having collaborated with several well-known brands.
In this collaboration, FUTURA 2000 will work extensively on the three unique versions of the BMW M2 by FUTURA 2000, both on the exterior and in the interior. These will be followed by limited-production models which will also bear his unique signature. Each car is fitted with 19-inch jet black light alloy wheels.
With the one-offs and the BMW M2 Edition designed by FUTURA 2000, BMW is setting trends both in the high-performance vehicle sector and the art scene alike. These special creations also serve to reinforce the BMW Individual initiative of customisation. They will be available for public purchase in June 2020.
In 2019, the BMW Group with its four brands (BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce and BMW Motorrad) sold over 2,520,000 passenger vehicles and more than 175,000 motorcycles worldwide. The profit before tax in the financial year 2018 was EUR 9.815 billion on revenues amounting to EUR 97.480 billion.
