ในช่วงชีวิตวัยเยาว์หลายคนคงเคยจินตนาการอยากเป็นนักแข่งรถอาชีพ แม้ว่าจะไม่ได้เดินตามเส้นทางฝันดังกล่าวเมื่อเติบโตเป็นผู้ใหญ่ แต่เชื่อได้ว่าความชื่นชอบในความเร็วแรงยังคงมีอยู่ในจิตใจไม่เคยหายไปไหน ซึ่งคงจะดีมิใช่น้อยหากมีซิมูเลเตอร์หรือเครื่องจำลองสักตัวที่จะช่วยเติมเต็มความฝันไปอีกขั้น เช่น AMR-C01 จาก Curv Racing Simulators และ Aston Martin
Curv เป็นผู้ผลิตซิมูเลเตอร์รถแข่งสัญชาติอังกฤษซึ่งก่อตั้งโดยแชมป์สามสมัยของ Aston Martin ในการแข่งขัน Le Mans นามว่า ดาร์เรน เทอร์เนอร์ ผู้มีประสบการณ์เกี่ยวกับซิมูเลเตอร์ระดับ Formula 1 มากว่าสองทศวรรษ โดย AMR-C01 ถือเป็นการร่วมงานครั้งแรกระหว่าง Curv และบริษัทรถหรูจากเมืองเกย์ดอน
AMR-C01 ทำจากวัสดุไฟเบอร์คาร์บอนโครงสร้างแบบโมโนค็อก ส่วนตำแหน่งที่นั่งนั้นได้รับแรงบันดาลใจในการออกแบบจากรถสปอร์ตรุ่น Valkyrie ทำให้ซิมูเลเตอร์ตัวนี้มีความล้ำสมัย สวยงามและปราดเปรียวดั่งรถแข่งของ Aston Martin ทั้งนี้ ลูกค้าสามารถเลือกสีของตัวเครื่องและเบาะได้ตามความต้องการ
คุณสมบัติด้านเทคโนโลยีก็ย่อมต้องเต็มที่อยู่แล้ว อาทิ หน้าจอทรงโค้งกว้างอัตราส่วน 32:9 ที่มีความละเอียดระดับ QHD ซีพียูพลัง Intel i7 และจีพียู Nvidia GTX 2080 ซอฟท์แวร์ระบบเป็นของ Assetto Corsa ซึ่งผู้เล่นสามารถเปลี่ยนไปใช้แพลทฟอร์มอื่นเช่น iRacing หรือ rFactor2 ได้
พวงมาลัยเป็นแบบรถแข่ง Formula 1 ซึ่งมีแป้นควบคุมเกียร์ ปุ่มควบคุมแบบหมุนจำนวน 9 ปุ่มและแบบกดจำนวน 12 ปุ่ม สำหรับแป้นเท้านั้นก็เป็นแบบควบคุมด้วยระบบอิเล็กทรอนิกส์และมีระยะการเหยียบลึก 200 มม. โดยที่กลไกทั้งหมดได้รับการออกแบบให้อยู่ในกล่องพิเศษที่ฝุ่นจากข้างนอกไม่อาจเข้าไปรบกวนทำงานได้ แล้วยังเสริมประสบการณ์การขับขี่ให้เต็มอิ่มในทุกมิติด้วยหูฟังจาก Sennheiser AMR-C01 มีสนนราคาเริ่มต้นอยู่ที่ 57,500 ปอนด์และเปิดรับคำสั่งผลิตเพียง 150 ตัวเท่านั้นทางเว็บไซท์ของ Curv เองโดยตรง

Many people might have dreamed of being a race car driver in their childhood. This dream would have been realised by very few people, but for the rest of us, the passion of speed lives on. It would be great indeed if there was a creative outlet for that aspiration, and now there is one: the AMR-C01 simulator from Curv and Aston Martin.
Curv is a UK manufacturer of racing simulators, founded by three-time Le Mans winning Aston Martin driver Darren Turner with over two decades of experience with Formula 1 simulators. AMR-C01 also represents the premiere collaboration between Curv and the Gaydon-based automotive firm.
The monocoque structure of AMR-C01 is crafted from carbon fibre. Its seating position resembles that of the Valkyrie, affording the simulator a similar sleek and race-ready stance like that of Aston Martin racers. Customers are free to choose from the available colours for the simulator body and the seat.
As this is a performance-driven product, its technical specifications must be top notch. The user is greeted first of all by the super ultra-wide gaming monitor with 32:9 aspect ratio and QHD resolution. The simulator is powered by an Intel i7 CPU and an Nvidia GTX 2080 GPU. Its standard software is Assetto Corsa, but the unit owner can switch to other platforms such as iRacing and rFactor2 as preferred. Regardless of the software, the steering wheel is of the Formula 1-style with paddle shift and clutch, nine rotary dials and 12 push buttons.
The unit’s electronically-controlled sliding pedal box is configured with 200 mm of travel and has all mechanics hidden away in a clean, dust-free environment. An Sennheiser headset completes this gaming experience. AMR-C01 is priced from GBP 57,500 and limited to 150 units. Customers can book a build slot directly on Curv’s web site.
