1. ตลาดน้อย
ถัดจากเยาวราชมาไม่ไกลจะเป็นที่ตั้งของชุมชนขนาดย่อมชื่อว่า “ตลาดน้อย” ชุมชนชาวจีนเก่าแก่ริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาที่เชื่อมระหว่างเยาวราชและบางรัก หากมองเผินๆ อาจเหมือนย่านนี้มีแต่ร้านขายอะไหล่รถยนต์มือสอง หรือเซียงกง แต่จริงๆ แล้วตลาดน้อยในเวลานี้ถือเป็นย่านฮิตฮอตที่มีทั้งสตรีทอาร์ต คาเฟ่เก๋ๆ ร้านอาหารระดับตำนาน และสถาปัตยกรรมโบราณอันงดงามที่รอให้คุณได้มาสัมผัส อย่างรถเต๋าโบราณสีส้มอายุกว่าร้อยปีที่จอดข้างกำแพงเก่าก็เป็นหนึ่งในไฮไลต์ของตลาดน้อยใครๆ ก็แวะมาถ่ายรูปด้วย หากคุณหลงใหลในสถาปัตยกรรมโบราณ ที่นี่ก็มีอาคารสไตล์ตะวันตกที่งดงามอย่างโบสถ์กาลหว่าร์หรือวัดแม่พระลูกประคำ และธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ สาขาตลาดน้อยให้ไปเยี่ยมชม เดินๆ แล้วหิวก็สามารถแวะเติมพลังที่ร้านเป็ดตุ๋นเจ้าท่า ร้านดั้งเดิมที่อยู่คู่กับตลาดน้อยมากว่า 40 ปี หรือลิ้มลองบะหมี่หมูแดงอบน้ำผึ้งสูตรเด็ดที่ร้านก๋วยเตี๋ยวรูก็ได้ หากอยากคลายร้อน ลองแวะดื่มเครื่องดื่มเย็นๆ ที่ฮงเซียงกง คาเฟ่สุดยูนีคที่ดัดแปลงมาจากอาคารเก่าอายุกว่า 200 ปี จุดเด่นของที่นี่นอกจากทำเลริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาที่คุณสามารถนั่งรับลมชิลๆ ได้แล้ว ยังมีงานศิลปะจัดแสดงให้ชมกันฟรีๆ ด้วย
2. วัดอรุณ
พระปรางค์สีขาวขนาดใหญ่ที่ตั้งตระหง่านอยู่ริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งภาพจำกรุงเทพของชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติจำนวนไม่น้อย พระปรางค์องค์นี้ คือ พระปรางค์วัดอรุณ เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของ “วัดอรุณ” หรือ “วัดแจ้ง” วัดเก่าแก่ตั้งแต่สมัยอยุธยาที่ตั้งอยู่ริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาฝั่งธนบุรี ตรงข้ามกับวัดโพธิ์ในฝั่งพระนคร ในแต่ละปีมีผู้มาเยือนวัดอรุณนับแสน แถมหลายคนยังนิยมแต่งชุดไทยเพื่อมาถ่ายรูปเป็นที่ระลึกกันที่นี่ด้วย ซึ่งหน้าวัดก็มีร้านให้เช่าชุดไทยพร้อมบริการแต่งหน้าทำผมเปิดให้บริการหลายร้านเลยทีเดียว มาเยือนวัดอรุณ แน่นอนว่าก็ต้องถ่ายรูปเช็กอินในมุมเสยเพื่อให้เห็นความอลังการของพระปรางค์ และถ่ายรูปโคลสอัพกับถ้วยกระเบื้องเคลือบที่ประดับตกแต่งอยู่รอบพระปรางค์ แต่แนะนำเที่ยวชมบริเวณอื่นของวัดด้วยเพราะก็สวยงามไม่แพ้กัน เช่น พระอุโบสถที่ภายในตกแต่งด้วยจิตรกรรมฝาผนังจากช่างชั้นครู ลานระเบียงคดที่มีตุ๊กตาศิลาจีนทั้งนักบวช เด็ก ผู้หญิง นักแสดงงิ้ว และสัตว์ต่างๆ และอีกจุดที่ห้ามพลาดก็คือ รูปปั้นพญายักษ์โบราณหน้าซุ้มประตูมงกุฎตรงทางเข้าพระอุโบสถ ที่มาของตำนานยักษ์วัดแจ้งและยักษ์วัดโพธิ์ ปัจจุบันวัดอรุณเปิดให้เข้าชมทุกวัน ตั้งแต่เวลา 8:00 – 18:00 น. คนไทยเข้าฟรี ชาวต่างชาติมีค่าเข้าชม 200 บาท
3. ถนนบรรทัดทอง
อีกหนึ่งสวรรค์ของนักกินในนาทีนี้ก็คงต้องยกให้ “บรรทัดทอง” ถนนที่มีความยาวประมาณหนึ่งกิโลเมตร แต่มัดรวมร้านอาหารเด็ดๆ เอาไว้กว่า 100 ร้าน ไม่ว่าคุณจะอยากลิ้มลองอาหารคาวหรือหวาน สไตล์ไทย จีน เกาหลี ญี่ปุ่น หรือตะวันตก ที่นี่ก็มีให้คุณเลือกแบบละลานตา โดยมีทั้งร้านเก่าแก่ชื่อดังและร้านใหม่ๆ ที่กำลังเป็นกระแส ซึ่งก็ต้องบอกเลยว่า แต่ละร้านนั้นฮอตฮิตและมีลูกค้ารอคิวลิ้มลองความอร่อยไม่ขาดสาย ยิ่งในช่วงวันศุกร์ เสาร์ อาทิตย์ ก็ยิ่งคึกคักมาก ร้านในบรรทัดทองนั้นมีทั้งแบบที่นั่งรับประทานได้และต้องซื้อกลับบ้าน ร้านมีที่นั่ง เช่น ร้านส้มตำเจ๊แดงที่อร่อยจนได้มิชลินไกด์, ร้านเจ๊โอวข้าวต้มเป็ด กับเมนูดังอย่างมาม่าโอ้โหหรือมาม่าเจ๊โอว, ร้านอาหารจีนสไตล์กวางตุ้งอย่างสมบูรณ์โภชนา, ร้านตั้งหยู่หมูกะทะรสเด็ด, ร้านน้ำเต้าหู้เจ๊วรรณที่ลิซ่าก็ยังมาลิ้มลอง, ร้านหนึ่ง นม นัว เจ้าดังจากภูเก็ตกับเมนูขนมปังปิ้งและนมสดที่รสนัวสมชื่อ ส่วนร้านที่ต้องซื้อกลับบ้านก็เช่น หมูสะเต๊ะนายซ้ง, ร้านขนมหวาน Layers BKK, ร้านขนมไข่เตาถ่าน Haab บอกเลยว่าร้านเยอะมากจนบรรยายไม่หมด คุณต้องไปลองเองจริงๆ
4. สวนลุมพินีและสวนเบญจกิติ
กรุงเทพใช่ว่าจะมีแต่ย่านค้าขายหรือตึกรามบ้านช่อง เพราะกลางกรุงก็มีพื้นที่สีเขียวขนาดใหญ่อย่างสวนลุมพินีและสวนเบญจกิติให้คุณได้ไปพักผ่อน สัมผัสอากาศบริสุทธิ์ และชมวิวต้นไม้ใบหญ้าเช่นกัน “สวนลุมพินี” หรือที่เรียกกันติดปากว่า “สวนลุม” เป็นสวนสาธารณะแห่งแรกของกรุงเทพที่ถูกจัดให้เป็นสวนเอนกประสงค์ซึ่งคุณสามารถทำกิจกรรม ได้มากมาย ไม่ว่าจะออกกำลังกาย เดินเล่น นั่งเล่น อ่านหนังสือ เล่นกีฬา ให้อาหารปลา หรือจะทำกิจกรรมทางน้ำอย่างถีบเรือเป็ด พายคายัค เล่นซับบอร์ดก็มีเช่นกัน แถมบางสัปดาห์ในช่วงเสาร์-อาทิตย์ก็ยังมีการแสดงดนตรีไทยและดนตรีสากลให้คุณได้เพลิดเพลินด้วย
ถัดจากสวนลุมไปไม่ไกลจะเป็นพื้นที่ของสวนเบญจกิติที่มีพื้นที่ประมาณ 453 ไร่ เป็นสวนสาธารณะในรูปแบบป่าในเมือง มีทั้งพื้นที่สวนป่าและสวนน้ำที่สร้างขึ้นเพื่อเลียนแบบระบบนิเวศตามธรรมชาติซึ่งควรต้องมีแหล่งน้ำเพื่อหล่อเลี้ยงพืชไม้นานาพันธุ์ในสวน ทั้งยังเป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้พืชพันธุ์ดั้งเดิมของกรุงเทพและพันธุ์ไม้หายาก รวมถึงเป็นที่รองรับน้ำในช่วงที่กรุงเทพมีน้ำมากเกินไปจนเสี่ยงท่วมขังด้วย จุดไฮไลท์ของสวนเบญจกิติที่ใครๆ ก็ต้องมาเช็กอินก็คือ สะพานลอยฟ้าหรือสกายวอล์คที่ทอดยาวและลัดเลาะไปตามบึงซึ่งคุณจะเดินออกกำลังกาย วิ่งจ๊อกกิ้ง หรือเดินชิลๆ ชมสวนก็ได้

Recently, Thailand’s Chinatown, Yaowarat, has been hustling and bustling, especially at night with famous street food restaurants lining up to offer mouth-watering dishes to visitors. Bangkok is ranked as the best tourist city in Asia, and Yaowarat is not the only interesting tourist attraction or check-in location. We would like to suggest 5 other destinations for you to visit, or you can refer these to your foreign friends who come to visit Bangkok. We guarantee your friends will be satisfied.
1. Talad Noi
Next to Yaowarat, there is a small community called “Talad Noi”. It is an old Chinese community on the banks of the Chao Phraya River that connects Yaowarat and Bang Rak. At first glance, it may seem like this area only has second-hand auto parts shops or second-hand shops, but in fact, Talad Noi is now a hot spot with street art, cool cafes, legendary restaurants, and beautiful ancient architecture waiting for you to come and explore.
An over 100-year-old orange Beetle car parked in front of the old wall is one of the highlights of Talad Noi that everyone stops to take pictures with. If you are among those who admire ancient architecture you would be fascinated with beautiful Western-style buildings such as the Holy Rosary Church, and the Siam Commercial Bank. After walking around this area, you might want to recharge your energy, and there are plenty of choices for you to stop and renew your energy, such as an over 40-year-old well-known Ped Tun Chao Tha restaurant where you can have delicious stewed duck, and the Rue Noodles shop that offers special honey-roasted pork noodles. If you want to cool off, try a cool drink at Hong Xiang Kong, a unique cafe converted from a 200-year-old building. In addition to its location by the Chao Phraya River where you can sit and let the gentle breeze cool your face, this café also showcases free art exhibitions.
2. Wat Arun
A large white spire standing tall on the banks of the Chao Phraya River is another image that many Thais and foreigners remember of Bangkok. This spire is part of a famous temple called “Wat Arun” or “Wat Chaeng”, an ancient temple from the Ayutthaya period located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River on the Thonburi side, opposite Wat Pho on the Phra Nakhon side. Every year, hundreds of thousands of people visit Wat Arun, and many of them like to wear traditional Thai costumes and take photos with this fascinating large white spire. In front of the temple, there are many shops that rent traditional Thai costumes with a make up and hair styling service to suit the costumes.
When visiting Wat Arun, not only visitors will take a photo from a low angle with the white spire to capture themselves with the spire’s magnificence but also take a close-up photo with the ceramic cups that decorate it. There are also other spots in this beautiful temple that are worth checking out, such as the chapel decorated with murals crafted by master craftsmen, and the cloister yard that showcases Chinese stone dolls of various characters such as monks, children, women, opera actors, and animals. Another must-see spot is the ancient giant statue in front of the crown arch at the entrance of the chapel. This giant statue is a character in the folklore of the Giant of Wat Chaeng and the Giant of Wat Pho. Currently, Wat Arun is open to visitors every day from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thai citizens can enter the temple free of charge while foreign visitors can enter with an entrance fee of 200 baht.
3. Banthat Thong Road
“Banthat Thong” is a foodie paradise, a one-kilometer-long road, that has more than 100 restaurants. Whether you want to try savory or sweet dishes in Thai, Chinese, Korean, Japanese or Western styles, there are so many to choose from here. Not only can you find famous old restaurants but also new trendy restaurants. With many popular restaurants here, there are quite long queues of guests who have to wait for their turn to have a taste of delicious food. This area is especially busy on every Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Restaurants in Banthat Thong are both dine-in and take-away types. Restaurants where you can sit and enjoy delicious dishes include a Michelin-Guided Somtam Je Daeng, Je Oh Duck Porridge that offers a famous menu item like Mama Oho or Mama Je Oh, a Cantonese-styled Chinese restaurant called Somboon Phochana, Tang Yu Pork BBQ, Je Wan Soy Milk Shop that Lisa also came to visit, and Neung Nom Nua, a famous shop from Phuket with a menu of toast and fresh milk. For those restaurants that offer only take-away include Nai Song Pork Satay, Layers BKK Dessert Shop, and Haab Charcoal Egg Dessert Shop. There are a lot more restaurants than what have been mentioned here for you to explore.
4. Lumpini Park and Benjakitti Park
Bangkok is not just a commercial district that full of skyscrapers or big buildings. In the middle of the city located 2 green oases : Lumpini Park and Benjakitti Park. These 2 big green spaces allow you to relax, breath in the fresh air, and enjoy the natural views. Lumpini Park was the first public park in Bangkok that has been designated as a multi-purpose park where you can do many activities, such as exercising, walking, sitting, reading, playing sports, feeding fish, or doing water activities like pedal boating, kayaking, and standing paddle boarding. In addition, some weeks on Saturdays and Sundays, there are also Thai and international music performances for you to enjoy.
Not far from Lumpini Park is Benjakitti Park, which covers an area of approximately 453 rai (around 179 acres). It is a public park in the form of an urban forest that possesses both a forest park and a water park built to imitate the natural ecosystem where water source exists to nourish various plants. It is also a place to learn about the original plants of Bangkok and rare plants, as well as a place to store water during times when Bangkok has too much water and is at risk of flooding. The highlight of Benjakitti Park that everyone must check in is the skywalk that stretches along the pond, where you can walk, jog, or just take a leisurely stroll around the park.
If you have time and want to enjoy the greenery of both parks in the same day, we recommend walking along the green bridge “Saphan Keiw”, a (not so) secret walking and cycling path connecting Lumpini Park and Benjakitti Park. This path begins from Sarasin Intersection at Witthayu Road near Lumpini School and leads to Benjakitti Park’s Skywalk, a total distance of about 1.3 kilometers. The atmosphere along the way is somewhat like in Japan. It is especially beautiful with warm vibes during sunset.
5. Iconsiam
Bangkok has many leading shopping malls. Among them Iconsiam stands out for its uniqueness. Shoppers can shop in the Iconluxe zone for world-class luxury products from various brands, such as Rolex, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, and Hermès. Those luxury shops are designed and decorated with an element of Thainess. Moreover, the Hermès here is the largest branch in Thailand. Shoppers can also enjoy browsing the Iconcraft zone, where they can find selected handmade Thai-style products that can be used in everyday life, such as silk shirts, woven bags, and home decorations.
There are 7 food zones to choose from. The must-visit is the Muang Suk Siam zone on the G floor, which replicates the atmosphere of a floating market offering local Thai food from all regions of Thailand. This zone can be considered as a paradise for Thai food lovers. If you want to eat while enjoying the view of the Chao Phraya River, we recommend going up to the 5th or 6th floor. For art lovers, there are exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, and more. For those who want to enjoy a full view of the Chao Phraya River, we recommend the Iconsiam Park zone on the Iconluxe building and the River Park zone on the river. There is nowhere better to indulge and satisfy your eyes, heart, and stomach than here, plus you can take a lot of cool pictures here as well.
