สานต่อความทรงจำแห่งโรงแรมดุสิตธานีในรูปร้านอาหารและเบเกอรี่ในซอยศาลาแดง

เกือบ 50 ปีที่โรงแรมดุสิตธานีเปิดทำการและได้ชื่อว่าเป็นโรงแรมหรูระดับห้าดาวที่มีเอกลักษณ์ไม่ว่าจะเป็นอาคาร สถาปัตยกรรม อีกทั้งยังเป็นหนึ่งในโรงแรมที่ให้บริการดีที่สุดในประเทศไทยก็ว่าได้ การปิดตัวลงเพื่อปรับเปลี่ยนธุรกิจสู่โลกยุคใหม่คงทำให้หลายๆ คนอดใจหายไม่ได้ ไม่เว้นแม้แต่พนักงานของโรงแรมที่มีความผูกพันกับโรงแรม ลูกค้าที่มาใช้บริการอยู่เป็นประจำ หรือกับผู้บริหารเองก็ตาม และเชื่อว่าหลายๆ ท่านซึ่งเคยได้ใช้บริการร้านอาหารหรือเบเกอรี่ของโรงแรมหรูบนหัวมุมถนนสีลมตัดกับถนนพระรามสี่แห่งนี้ก็คงมีความรู้สึกผูกพันอยู่ไม่น้อย
ด้วยทางผู้บริหารของโรงแรมได้เล็งเห็นถึงความสำคัญของทรัพยากรมนุษย์ที่มีคุณค่าต่อองค์กร อีกทั้งต้องการที่จะสานต่อบริการอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของโรงแรมดุสิตธานีให้คงไว้ไม่ให้จางหายไป บ้านโบราณอายุกว่าร้อยปีในซอยศาลาแดงใจกลางย่านธุรกิจของกรุงเทพมหานครแห่งนี้จึงเป็นคำตอบที่ลงตัวที่สุดที่จะรองรับพนักงานของโรงแรมในระหว่างที่โครงการใหม่กำลังดำเนินการก่อสร้าง และยังทำให้ลูกค้าประจำของโรงแรมได้หายคิดถึงรสชาติอาหารและขนมของห้องอาหารไทย “เบญจรงค์” ห้องอาหารเวียดนาม “เธียนดอง” และเบเกอรี่ “ดุสิตกูร์เมต์” อันเป็นร้านยอดนิยมของโรงแรมอีกด้วย
“บ้านดุสิตธานี” บนเนื้อที่ 4.5 ไร่นี้ประกอบไปด้วยสามส่วนหลักๆ ด้วยกันคือ อาคารหลังแรกด้านหน้าเดิมเป็นเรือนพักหลังเล็กที่แปลงมาเป็นเบเกอรี่ “ดุสิตกูร์เมต์” ที่แสนจะอบอุ่น คุณจะรู้สึกตื่นตากับเค้กและขนมอบมากมายที่วางให้คุณเลือกสรรเมื่อเดินเข้ามาภายในร้าน อีกทั้งเมนูออลเดย์เบรคฟาสต์หลากหลายเมนูให้ได้ลิ้มลอง หรือเมนูอาหารจานเดียวง่ายๆ สำหรับมื้อกลางวันก็มีให้เผื่อคุณเร่งรีบ หรืออยากจะนัดสนทนากับเพื่อนสนิทยามบ่ายด้วยเช็ทชุดน้ำชาก็มีให้บริการ
จากประสบการณ์ที่ได้เข้าไปสัมผัส ทำให้รู้สึกได้ถึงความอบอุ่นและเป็นกันเองระหว่างพนักงานและลูกค้าที่เหมือนจะรู้จักมักคุ้นกันอยู่มาก ดูแล้วรู้ว่าลูกค้าประจำที่คิดถึงคงมีมากมายเพราะตลอดเวลาที่นั่งดื่มกาแฟอยู่นั้นมีลูกค้าหมุนเวียนอยู่หน้าตู้เค้กและขนมไม่ได้เว้นว่างเลยทีเดียว โดยห้องดุสิต กูร์เมต์ นี้เปิดให้บริการตั้งแต่ 7.00 น. – 23.00 น.
ส่วนที่สองของบ้านดุสิตธานีคืออาคารหลักหลังใหญ่อันเป็นที่ตั้งของห้องอาหารไทย “เบญจรงค์” และเพื่อที่จะให้ลูกค้าได้รู้สึกถึงบรรยากาศที่คุ้นเคยและกลิ่นอายดั้งเดิมของโรงแรมดุสิตธานี แรงบันดาลใจในการตกแต่งจึงเป็นการนำเอามนต์เสน่ห์ของโรงแรมดุสิตธานีผสมผสานกับการตกแต่งอย่างประณีตให้มีความร่วมสมัยมากขึ้นโดยการใช้สีที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ของโรงแรม
การนำเอาเฟอร์นิเจอร์เดิมบางส่วน ของตกแต่งบางชิ้นของโรงแรม นำลายผ้าไทยบนเสาเอกของโรงแรมมาเป็นองค์ประกอบในการตกแต่งภายในของอาคารหลังนี้ให้มีความร่วมสมัยคลาสสิค สะท้อนเรื่องราวอันน่าจดจำของบ้านและโรงแรมไว้ด้วยกัน จนเกิดเป็นห้องอาหารไทยที่มีบรรยากาศผ่อนคลาย มีความเป็นส่วนตัวเหมือนทานอาหารอยู่บ้าน นอกจากนี้บนชั้นสองของอาคารหลักนี้ยังมีห้องเล็กๆ 4 ห้องที่สามารถจัดเลี้ยงหรือจัดประชุมขนาดย่อมได้อีกด้วย สำหรับห้องอาหารเบญจรงค์นี้เปิดให้บริการช่วงกลางวัน 11.30 น. – 14.30 น.และ ช่วงค่ำ 18.00 น. – 23.00 น.
ส่วนที่สามของบ้านดุสิตคืออาคารด้านหลังซึ่งดัดแปลงมาจากโกดังเก็บสินค้าให้เป็นห้องอาหารเวียดนาม “เธียนดอง” ซึ่งเป็นห้องอาหารยอดนิยมของโรงแรมดุสิตธานี เธียนดองโฉมใหม่นี้มีบรรยากาศที่ดูทันสมัยแบบอีสท์มีทเวสท์ ดูสนุกสนานและมีเสน่ห์ เหมาะกับการพาคนรักและครอบครัวมาทานอาหาร หรือรวมกลุ่มมิตรสหายมาสังสรรค์ คุณจะเพลิดเพลินกับอาหารเวียดนามเลิศรสและเมนูอาหารที่หลากหลายท่ามกลางบรรยากาศที่ร่มรื่นเป็นกันเอง ซึ่งห้องอาหารเธียนดองนี้เปิดให้บริการช่วงกลางวัน 11.30 น. – 14.30 น.และ ช่วงค่ำ 18.00 น. – 23.00 น. เช่นกัน
นอกจากนี้บ้านดุสิตธานียังมี “การ์เด้นบาร์” ที่ปรับเอาพื้นที่โล่งบริเวณสระว่ายน้ำของบ้านมาเป็นบาร์ที่จะให้คุณได้พักผ่อนหย่อนใจ สังสรรค์กับเพื่อนฝูง ดื่มด่ำและสนุกสนานไปกับเสียงเพลงในบรรยากาศสบายๆ หลังเลิกงานเป็นต้นไป พร้อมๆ กับจิบเครื่องดื่มซิกเนเจอร์เด่นๆ ของโรงแรมดุสิตธานี ซึ่งการ์เด้น บาร์นี้เปิดให้บริการตั้งแต่ 17.00 น. – 23.00 น.

Upholding the memory of Dusit Thani through a restaurant and bakery on Soi Saladaeng

As one of the best hotels in the country for over 50 years, the Dusit Thani Hotel was renowned for its unique architecture and five-star facilities. To meet the demands of the changing market, the property recently closed it doors and is currently undergoing a major construction – an event that has left regular guests, hotel staff and management with a sense of longing. After all, the luxury hotel which once sat at the corner of Silom and Rama IV Road has quite a dedicated following.
In an effort to safeguard the standards of Dusit Thani’s service, as well as recognise the value of their trained staff, the management of Dusit Thani found a perfect solution. A hundred-year-old house in Soi Saladaeng, at the heart of Bangkok’s business district would be turned into Baan Dusit Thani. While the new Dusit Thani undergoes construction, this new location would serve guests the iconic dishes they have come to love. Baan Dusit Thani houses three of the hotel’s most popular dining outlets, including Thai restaurant Benjarong, the Vietnamese restaurant Thien Duong, and Dusit Gourmet bakery.
Baan Dusit Thani sits on an area of 4.5 rai and is divided into three main parts. The first building, which was originally a small front-house has been converted into Dusit Gourmet, a warm and welcoming bakery. Guests will be dazzled by the various cakes and pastries on display, as well as the variety of the all-day dining menu. Light lunches are also available for those in a hurry, or if you are up for a long conversation with your close friends, we recommend the afternoon tea set. There is a sense of familiarity here between the guests and waitstaff, who both seem well acquainted with one another as most patrons are regular customers. From my own experience of having coffee in the bakery, there was never a shortage of patrons who would circle around the pastry display. The Dusit Gourmet bakery is open daily from 7:00 to 23:00.
The second part of Baan Dusit Thani is the main building where Thai restaurant, Benjarong is stationed. In order to allow guests to experience the familiar atmosphere of Dusit Thani, the inspiration behind the interior decor of the main building takes on several charming aspects that was once signature to the former Benjarong. This includes unique colour schemes, original furniture pieces and some decor items such as fabric patterns that were once used on the pillars of hotel’s restaurant. These elements work together with Baan Dusit Thani’s residential features to create something that is a mix between home and hotel, balancing luxury and privacy. The second floor of the main building also includes 4 small rooms that can host intimate gatherings or meetings. Benjarong is open for lunch from 11:30 – 14:30 and for dinner from 18:00 to 23:00.
The back building, and third part of Baan Dusit Thani is a warehouse that has been converted into Thien Duong, a fine Vietnamese restaurant that was a favourite amongst former patrons for delicious and authentic Vietnamese fare. The new Thien Duong comes with a modern “east meets west” look that is perfect for fun and casual gatherings with loved ones and family members. Thien Doung is open for lunch from 11:30 – 14:30 and dinner from 18:00 to 23:00.
Last but not least, Baan Dusit Thani also has a central Garden Bar that makes use of the swimming pool area of the home. It is the perfect spot to socialise with friends while enjoying music with a cocktail in hand – a definite new favourite spot for after work drinks. The Garden Bar is open from 17:00 – 23:00 hrs.
