ท่องพิพิธภัณฑ์กว่า 500 แห่งทั่วโลกฟรีโดยไม่ต้องออกจากบ้านด้วยบริการ Google Arts & Culture

หลังจากที่ผู้อ่านท่านหนึ่งเห็นบทความ Books to Read During Home Quarantine ของเราเมื่อสองสัปดาห์ก่อนแล้วก็ส่ง โพสท์ของ Hello Giggles ให้เราดูซึ่งเว็บนั้นบอกว่ารู้มาจาก Fast Company อีกทอดหนึ่งว่าชาวเน็ทสามารถไปเยือนพิพิธภัณฑ์และแกลเลอรี่ต่างๆ กว่า 500 แห่งทั่วโลกได้ด้วยบริการ Google Arts & Culture
เพียงไปที่ https://artsandculture.google.com/partner แล้วคุณก็จะเห็นรายชื่อสถานที่ทั้งหมดซึ่งน่าตื่นตาตื่นใจมากๆ เท่าที่เห็นส่วนมากจะอยู่ในประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา แต่ก็มีพิพิธภัณฑ์ในประเทศอื่นๆ อีกหลายประเทศทั่วทุกมุมโลก อาทิ พิพิธภัณฑ์พินาโคเตก้าเดอเซาเปาโลที่ประเทศบราซิล พิพิธภัณฑ์แวนโกห์ที่ประเทศเนเธอร์แลนด์ และหอศิลป์แห่งชาติวิคตอเรียที่ประเทศออสเตรเลีย
หัวข้อที่น่าสนใจไม่ได้มีเพียงแค่ศิลปะและประวัติศาสตร์เท่านั้น เพราะหลายพิพิธภัณฑ์ก็เป็นเรื่องธรรมชาติวิทยาอย่างพิพิธภัณฑ์แมลงแห่งประเทศจีนฝั่งตะวันตกที่เมืองเฉิงตู บ้างก็เป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์และมีแม้แต่ตัว NASA เองด้วย
เราลองคลิกเข้าไปดูใน NASA กัน จะเห็นนิทรรศการออนไลน์จำนวน 35 เรื่องที่เดินเรื่องด้วยภาพเป็นหลักและมีคำบรรยายประกอบให้อ่านแบบเบาๆ เปิดอ่านไปทีละหน้า เดินหน้า ถอยหลังได้ เหมือนกำลังเปิดหนังสืออยู่ แต่ละพิพิธภัณฑ์จะมีจำนวนนิทรรศการออนไลน์ไม่เท่ากัน และนอกจากนี้ก็ยังมีคลังภาพพร้อมคำบรรยายแบบจำนวนนับไม่ถ้วนอีกด้วย นี่ลองกดดูเล่นๆ เจอภาพเนบูล่าแบบทวินเจ็ทดูอลังการแปลกตาดี คืออะไรก็ไม่รู้ เดี๋ยวเขียนบทความนี้เสร็จแล้วค่อยกลับไปนั่งอ่านดีๆ
ฟีเจอร์ที่จัดว่าเด็ดที่สุดนั้นก็คือการเดินท่องไปตามห้องจัดแสดงหรือพื้นที่ต่างๆ ในลักษณะเดียวกันกับที่เราสามารถกดเดิน เลี้ยว ก้มและเงยบนถนนใน Google Maps ทุกประการ แต่เป็นการเดินภายในอาคารแทน แต่ละพิพิธภัณฑ์จะมีโซนให้เดินแบบเวอร์ชวลทัวร์นี้มากน้อยแตกต่างกัน บ้างก็มี 3 โซน บ้างก็มี 8 โซน บ้างก็ไม่มีเลยซึ่งคุณต้องกดเข้าไปดูแต่ละที่เองว่ามีหรือไม่ และนี่ไม่ใช่การเดินแบบเล่นแบบไร้สาระ เพราะหากมีสิ่งจัดแสดงใดอยู่ในบริเวณนั้นก็จะปรากฏรูปอยู่ในช่องเล็กด้านล่างให้คุณคลิกอ่านรายละเอียดได้โดยสะดวก
อีกวิธีหนึ่งในการเล่นเว็บนี้ก็คือการกดปุ่ม Explore ที่อยู่ทางด้านบนเพื่อเลือกหัวข้อที่น่าสนใจตามประเภท ช่วงเวลา ความนิยมหรือแม้แต่จะเลือกตามสีก็ยังทำได้ และมีหัวข้อ Weekly Highlights ที่ทางทีมงาน Google Arts & Culture เป็นผู้คัดเลือกเรื่องราวมาให้คุณได้เปิดโลกทัศน์แบบไม่มีกรอบจำกัด ถ้าคุณเป็นคนชอบพิพิธภัณฑ์ เตรียมตัวติดเว็บนี้แบบถอนตัวไม่ขึ้นได้เลย ไม่ว่าคุณจะต้องกักตัวอยู่กับบ้านเพราะสถานการณ์ไวรัสหรือไม่ก็ตาม

Having read one of our popular articles during recent weeks Books to Read During Home Quarantine, a reader tipped us with a Hello Giggles post which in turn learned from Fast Company that it is possible for you to have a varying degrees of virtual visit to over 500 museums and galleries around the world, thanks to the service called Google Arts & Culture.
By accessing the site at https://artsandculture.google.com/partner, you will be astounded by the breadth of possibilities. While the majority of the museums participating are in the United States of America, some of the places are from as far apart as the Pinacoteca de Sao Paulo in Brazil, the Van Gogh Museum in the Netherlands and the National Gallery of Victoria in Australia.
Subjects of interest is not limited to arts and history. There are such curiosity-provoking highlights like the Insect Museum of West China in Chengdu and the science-oriented museums like the NASA itself.
Here, you can choose to explore the online exhibits which differ in number from one museum to the next. NASA has 35 illustrated stories that you can turn by the pages, for example, in addition to a cornucopia of photographs with descriptive text in their digital library. Have you ever seen the Twin Jet Nebula? I have not. I am not even sure what it is but I will go read after I finish this article.
For many but not all museums and galleries, you have the option of a virtual walk through of one or more areas of the exhibition space, much in the same way as you would navigate the streets on Google Maps. This is not a meaningless wandering because important exhibits in the vicinity would appear in the boxes below so you can click to read more about them.
Another way to enjoy the service is to click the “Explore” button at the top to browse materials by categories, time, popularity or even colours. There is also a “Weekly Highlights” in between those choices to inspire and broaden your horizon. If you are a museum person, this incredible Google Arts & Culture will prove to be highly addictive, with or without Covid-19 out there.
