กิจกรรมการกุศลประจำปีเพื่อระดมทุนช่วยเหลือและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตของช้างไทย

การแข่งขันเรือยาวช้างไทยและเทศกาลริมน้ำของกลุ่มโรงแรมอนันตราในปีนี้ถือเป็นการจัดงานครั้งที่ 2 แล้ว เมื่อวันที่ 28 กุมภาพันธ์ – 1 มีนาคม ที่ผ่านมา โดยใช้พื้นที่จัดงานเป็นที่ดินว่างติดริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา ไม่ไกลจากโรงแรมอนันตรา ริเวอร์ไซด์ กรุงเทพฯ
นี่คืองานที่นำเอาประเพณีแข่งขันเรือยาวของไทยที่สืบต่อกันมาแต่โบราณมาผนวกเข้ากับกิจกรรมบันเทิงต่างๆ รวมถึงกิจกรรมเพื่อสร้างความตระหนักรู้ถึงความสำคัญของการอนุรักษ์ช้าง จุดประสงค์หลักของงานคือการระดมทุนเพื่อช่วยเหลือและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตของช้างไทย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นช้างเร่ร่อน ช้างบ้าน และช้างป่า รวมถึงสนับสนุนงานวิจัยและโครงการต่างๆ ที่เป็นประโยชน์ในการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตช้างในภาพรวม ในการนี้อนันตราได้นำรายได้จากการจำหน่ายบัตรผ่านประตูทั้งหมดบริจาคให้กับมูลนิธิโกลเด้นไทรแองเกิ้ลเอเชียนเอเลเฟนท์ (GTAEF)
ในแต่ละวันนั้นประตูเข้างานจะเปิดตั้งแต่เที่ยงยาวไปจนถึงดึก ไฮไลท์ของช่วงบ่ายก็คือการแข่งขันเรือยาวช้างไทย เพื่อชิงถ้วยพระราชทานจากพระบาทสมเด็จพระปรเมนทร รามาธิบดีศรีสินทรมหาวชิราลงกรณ พระวชิรเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รอบชิงนี้เป็นการพบกันระหว่าง 4 ทีมสุดท้าย ซึ่งได้แก่ ทีมราชนาวี สนับสนุนโดย Citi ทีมมหาวิทยาลัยกีฬาวิทยาเขตลำปาง สนับสนุนโดย Casillero Del Diablo ทีมจังหวัดสมุทรปราการ สนันสนุนโดย PWC Thailand และ ทีมเจ้าแม่ประดู่ทอง สนับสนุนโดย Keith & Kym โดยทีมราชนาวี เป็นผู้คว้าชัยมาครองต่อเนื่องเป็นปีที่สอง
นอกจากนั้นก็เป็นการแข่งขันเรือยาวระดับเยาวชน การแข่งเรือยาวชักกะเย่อและการแข่งขันพายบอร์ดลอยน้ำที่นักกีฬาจะต้องใช้กำลังทั้งหมดที่มีประกอบกับการทรงตัวเพื่อเอาชนะทั้งคู่แข่งและคลื่นลมของแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาเองด้วย
กิจกรรมบนบกก็มีอีกหลากหลายเพื่อให้ทุกคนทั้งผู้ใหญ่และเด็กได้เพลิดเพลินไปพร้อมกัน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเวิร์คช็อปว่าวไทย 4 ภาคหรือโชว์เพนท์กราฟฟิตีโดย อเล็กซ์ เฟซ ซึ่งเป็นศิลปินที่หลายคนคุ้นเคยจากผลงานภาพน้องสามตา
การแข่งขันเรือยาวช้างไทยและเทศกาลริมน้ำของกลุ่มโรงแรมอนันตราในครั้งนี้มีเหล่าคนดังและเซเลบจากวงการต่างๆ เดินทางมาร่วมสนุกและสนับสนุนการช่วยเหลือช้างไทยอย่างคับคั่ง ไม่เพียงแต่ในประเทศไทยเท่านั้น ตามภาพข่าวยังปรากฏด้วยว่ามี แคนเดซ บุชเนลล์ ผู้เขียน Sex and the City และแฟชั่นดีไซเนอร์ นิโคล มิลเลอร์ จากสหรัฐอเมริกา เดินทางมาร่วมงานการกุศลครั้งนี้ด้วยเช่นกัน
ช่วงค่ำมีกิจกรรมบันเทิง ดนตรีและการแสดง นำโดยดีเจชื่อดังจากต่างประเทศ และมินิคอนเสิร์ตของพาราด็อกซ์และโอ๊ต ปราโมทย์ แล้วจึงส่งท้ายค่ำคืนวันปิดงานด้วยพิธีมอบรางวัลแก่ทีมผู้เข้าแข่งขันและการแสดงดอกไม้ไฟสวยงามสว่างไสวเหนือคุ้งน้ำเจ้าพระยา
สรุปเลยแล้วกันว่าเป็นประสบการณ์ที่ดี การจัดการของงานดี เป็นระเบียบเรียบร้อย จอดรถสะดวกและฟรีที่โรงแรมอนันตรา ริเวอร์ไซด์ กรุงเทพฯ แล้วนั่งรถสามล้อที่ทางโรงแรมจัดเตรียมไว้ไปยังพื้นที่จัดงานได้ทันที ปีหน้าพอเขาจัดอีก หากใครไปได้ก็อยากให้ไป ถือว่าเดินเล่นเพลินๆ ไปกับครอบครัวก็ได้ ไปกับกลุ่มเพื่อนก็ได้ ไม่ใช่งานวัยรุ่น ไม่ใช่งานคนแก่ แต่เป็นงานที่เฟรนด์ลีกับทุกคน อาหารสะอาด เครื่องดื่มหลากหลาย อย่างปีนี้ในฝั่งเครื่องดื่มนั้นก็มีบูธมากมายไม่ว่าจะเป็นแม่โขง Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Veuve Clicquot, Casillero del Diablo ฯลฯ ติดตามข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมเกี่ยวกับกิจกรรมนี้ได้ที่ https://www.bangkokriverfestival.com/th/
The annual event by the hotel group raises fund to improve the quality of life for elephants in Thailand.

Held for the second time this year from 28 February to 1 March, the Elephant Boat Race and River Festival 2020 is an annual program of the Anantara group of hotels, designed to help increase awareness about conservation of elephants. It raises the necessary funds in support of street, domesticised and wild elephants in Thailand, as well as relevant researches and projects that contribute to the improved quality of life for the elephants. To this end, Anantara is donating the entire amount of proceeds from the sales of entry tickets to the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation or GTAEF.
The fair ground is an empty plot of land within a short distance from Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort. Here, the traditional long boat race of Thailand is joined by other entertainment and elephant-oriented activities.
The gate is open from around noon until late evening. The highlight in the afternoon time is the elephant boat race for the trophy graciously granted by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. Four teams competed against one another in the final round: Royal Thai Navy sponsored by Citi, Thailand National Sports University Lampang Campus sponsored by Casillero Del Diablo, Samut Prakarn sponsored by PWC Thailand, and, Pradu Thong Goddess sponsored by Keith & Kym. Royal Thai Navy claimed the final glory for the second year running.
Other programs of interest are the youth cup boat race, the tug of war boat race and the stand-up paddling contest where each competitor must use all their stamina to win over their peers and balancing skills to combat the rolling waves of the river. Meanwhile, on-land activities are inclusive or adults and children, including regional Thai kite workshops and a graffiti painting show by Alex Face – the artist best known for the signature, provocative three-eyed baby character.
Music and entertainment take over in the evening time, led first of all by a host of international DJs. Paradox and Oat Pramote took turns with daily mini concerts while the trophy ceremony and fireworks over Chao Praya River marked the conclusion of this charity event.
Anantara’s Elephant Boat Race and River Festival attracted prominent individuals and celebrities from the various sectors of Thailand who took part in the cause and the fun. Moreover, the post-event report also listed international celebrities like Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell and American fashion designer Nicole Miller as participants.
All in all, it can be said that you should not miss the next edition in 2021. The Elephant Boat Race and River Festival is a proper and well-organised activity that was friendly to all. You can park very easily at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort, get your parking ticket validated and take the provided tuk tuk shuttle ride to the nearby fair ground. The setup is enjoyable by friends and families alike, nothing rowdy or inappropriate for children whatsoever. Food choices are interesting too, as are the drinks at the spacious booths like those of Mekhong, Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Veuve Clicquot and Casillero del Diablo.
