World’s Most Expensive Avocado Toast at Berlin Art Week
อโวคาโดโทสท์ที่มีราคาแพงที่สุดในโลกเป็นผลงานสร้างของทิม เบงเกล มูลค่าประเมินกันไว้ที่ราว 3 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ งานประติมากรรมที่ถูกนำเสนอที่งาน Berlin Art Week ชิ้นนี้ใช้อโวคาโดโทสท์ของจริงมาเป็นต้นแบบ ศิลปินวัย 29 ปีท่านนี้ทำการสแกนชิ้นส่วนทั้ง 27 ชิ้นของแซนด์วิชดังกล่าว ได้แก่ อโวคาโดหั่นแล้ว 5 ชิ้น มะเขือเทศฝาน 5 ชิ้น ใบอรูกูลา 10 ใบ หัวหอม 5 วง และขนมปังเบเกิลผ่าครึ่ง จากนั้นจึงหล่อชิ้นส่วนแต่ละชั้นด้วยทอง 18 กะรัตเพื่อประกอบกันเป็นแซนด์วิชอีกครั้งหนึ่ง รวมน้ำหนักประติมากรรมชิ้นนี้กว่า 11 กิโลกรัม

Tim Bengel has created the world’s most expensive avocado toast. Estimated to be worth around USD 3 million. The sculpture was showcased at the Berlin Art Week. Using a real avocado toast as a template, the 29-year-old artist 3D-scanned 27 individual pieces of the sandwich — five avocado wedges, five tomato slices, ten arugula leaves, five onion rings, and two bagel halves. He then cast each piece in 18-carat gold and reassembled it into a sandwich. Altogether, the sculpture weighs more than 11 kilograms.
The artist sees a connection between his creation and the Greek myth of King Midas, whose touch turns everything into gold and later dies of starvation. “Something similar is happening today in turbo-capitalism, which, in its greed for profit maximisation, is destroying its own participants,” Bengel said in a release. The world’s most expensive avocado toast sculpture will make its way to the United States later this year, starting in Miami for Miami Art Week in December. It also is available for purchase via Galerie Rother.
A Previously Unseen Van Gogh Drawing Goes on Display
Van Gogh Museum แห่งกรุงอัมสเตอร์ดัมเปิดเผยเรื่องการค้นพบผลงานของแวนโกะห์ที่ผู้คนไม่รู้จักกันมาก่อน ภาพสเกทช์ชิ้นนี้มีชื่อว่า Study for Worn Out โดยบนภาพสเกทช์ที่ค้นพบใหม่นี้มีการลงนามสั้นๆ เพียงแค่ Vincent ในภาพเป็นชายสูงวัยผู้ใช้แรงงาน สวมเสื้อกั๊ก กางเกงขายาวและรองเท้าบู๊ท นั่งกุมขมับอยู่บนเก้าอี้ไม้ และเป็นที่เข้าใจกันว่านี่เป็นผลงานที่วาดก่อนภาพชื่อดัง Worn Out นั่นเอง
แวนโกะห์วาดภาพนี้เมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1882 หลังจากที่เริ่มเดินบนเส้นทางสายศิลปินได้เพียง 2 ปี ขณะนั้นเขามีอายุ 29 ปี ทาง Van Gogh Museum ได้ตรวจสอบความแท้ของภาพนี้เป็นที่เรียบร้อย โดยภาพดังกล่าวอยู่ในครอบครองของครอบครัวชาวดัทช์ครอบครัวหนึ่งมานานถึงราวศตวรรษ ขณะนี้ทางพิพิธภัณฑ์ได้นำภาพ Study for Worn Out มาจัดแสดงควบคู่กับภาพชื่อ Worn Out ผู้สนใจเข้าชมได้จนถึงวันที่ 2 มกราคม จากนั้นพิพิธภัณฑ์จะนำภาพส่งคืนเจ้าของต่อไป
Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum has added a recently discovered piece of artwork to the catalogue of the artist. The announcement of the new discovery came via a press conference held by the museum. Titled, “Study for Worn Out”, the piece is allegedly an earlier take on the same subject for the highly regarded Van Gogh artwork called “Worn Out”. “Study for Worn Out” is signed off with a simple “Vincent” and depicts an elderly labourer dressed in a waistcoat, trousers, and boots sitting on a wooden chair with his head in his hands.
The sketch was made early in Van Gogh’s career in 1882, when he was 29-years-old, two years into his career as an artist. The Van Gogh Museum has verified the authenticity of the sketch. The drawing had been sitting in a Dutch family’s private collection for about a century. It will now be on public display at the Van Gogh Museum, alongside “Worn Out” at the Van Gogh Museum until 2 January when it will return to the private collection.
Lost Fabergé Egg on Display in London

Third Imperial Egg จะถูกจัดแสดงควบคู่กับไข่ Fabergé ฟองอื่นๆ ซึ่งครั้งหนึ่งเคยเป็นของราชวงศ์โรมานอฟ อาทิ The Peacock Egg และ The Tercentenary Egg สำหรับ The Peacock egg นี้จะปรากฏต่อหน้าสาธารณชนเป็นครั้งแรกในรอบ 10 ปี ตัวเปลือกไข่เป็นร็อคคริสตอลแกะสลักลายโรกายล์ ภายในมีหุ่นออโตมาตอนรูปนกยูงที่ผลิตจากทองและลงสีด้วยเทคนิคเอนาเมล
The Victoria and Albert Museum announced that it has acquired the long-lost Fabergé Third Imperial Egg. It will go on display at their exhibition titled “Fabergé: Romance to Revolution” from 20 November 20 till 8 May 2022. The egg went missing in 1964 after being sold in an auction in New York. It later then popped up at a Midwest flea market in 2015, found by a scrap metal dealer who had bought it for its intrinsic gold and gem value. He then later contacted Kieran McCarthy of Wartski jewellers after randomly Googling the egg, who confirmed it was the missing egg.
The Third Imperial Egg will go on display alongside the other Fabergé eggs that once belonged to the Romanovs. A few of the eggs going on display are The Peacock Egg and The Tercentenary Egg. The Peacock egg will be on display for the first time in 10 years. The Peacock Egg is a rock crystal egg and it is finely engraved with rocaille and has an enamelled gold peacock automaton inside the egg.
1,500-Year-Old Treasure Trove Found with a Metal Detector

A man in the Danish countryside has discovered a stash of 1,500-year-old gold treasure with just a metal detector. The cache offered more than two pounds of gold, according to the Vejlemuseerne, the museum consortium in Vejle, Denmark. The treasure trove was found in a town called Vindelev, about 240 kilometres from Copenhagen. It includes coins and medallions from the Roman Empire. These will be expected to go on view at the Vejlemuseerne in February next year. Among those medallions found is one inscribed with text translating to “the High” which could potentially be a reference to a ruler at the time, or the Norse god Odin. This artefact, along with the other objects found, dates back to the 6th century C.E.
These objects could have been buried amid ecological doom. In the year 536, a volcano erupted, creating a giant cloud of ash that caused famine. Experts believe that the people of modern-day Denmark rejected their rulers and left the golden objects bearing their images either to hide them from enemies, or so as to not incur the wrath of the gods.
