Montblanc M Unltra Black
Inspired by Montblanc’s legendary white emblem, the symbol is most associated with Europe’s highest mountain, featuring an ice-covered summit and six glacier tongues signifying excellence, similar to the way in which the beauty and culture of literary works are held in high esteem.
Every pen has a story to tell and the inspiration behind every writing instrument by Montblanc has been created to honour the achievements and works of great literary figures. The brand has also been playing an active part in the community to promote cultural diversity and support modern art, including putting up showcases of artists who had created exciting works based on the legendary brand symbol.
Some of the writing instrument are named after legendary figures such as The Limited Edition 2009 Thomas Mann, an outstanding stylist of the German language. Like William Shakespeare and American literary critic, Edgar Allan Poe, Mann’s literary work “Buddenbrooks” made him famous and is well considered a classic of German literature. Another is the 3-piece Limited Edition Ingrid Bergman “La Diva”, paying tribute to the actress’s success in a variety of European and American films, making her one of the most celebrated artistes with Oscar wins, Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.
Today, Montblanc has made another breakthrough with the new Montblanc M Ultra Black joining the outstanding family. Dedicated to Marc Newson, an Australian designer for fashion, jewellery and aircraft just to name a few, the writing instrument is inspired by the fluid and pure organic forms synonymous with the designer’s style.
The beautifully handcrafted pen shows new, contemporary approaches to a world of different form of aesthetic language. With the new Montblanc M Ultra Black, it features a new distinctive texture with a touch of bright orange as part of the detailed design to accentuate the pure lines, and the ingenious magnetic mechanism is a defining feature of the new M Ultra Black edition.
What’s notable about the writing instrument are the design elements: additional magnetic field has been incorporated to hold the cap on the plateau for smoother and sensory writing pleasure; the “ruthenium-plated metal forepart” gives the owner a firm grip on the pen and lends a perfect balance to the weight of the writing instrument; the AU585 gold nib and plated in rhodium and ruthenium.
